This message explores how believers are called to live free from fear, walk in faith, and actively participate in God’s healing work. Through the story of the paralytic in Mark 2, we see that faith is not passive—it carries, breaks through barriers, and brings others to Jesus. Healing is holistic (spirit, soul, body), and even when outcomes aren’t immediate, we remain steadfast because God is faithful.

You don’t want me to do stand up for 40 minutes, do you? Yeah. Yeah, that might be. That might be better. Might be a little more, acceptable. George. Thank you.

00:01:17:23 – 00:01:43:10

You’ll have to forgive me in advance. I’ve been sick for, like, the last couple of weeks, and, ironically, you get to talk about healing today. Amen. We’re gonna jump into this in just a second. I want to pray first, and then I want to quote, I want to quote a great man of God. And then we’re going to get into the message, okay.

00:01:43:13 – 00:01:55:00
Unknown
Sound good? All right. So, father, in Jesus name, Lord, we just humbly submit ourselves to you. Lord, we love you.

00:01:55:02 – 00:02:16:16
Unknown
And Lord, even though we don’t get everything right. And even though we fall short, and even though we sin, even though we do things to dishonor your name, even though we don’t live up to what we know we should.

00:02:16:18 – 00:02:55:18
Unknown
Lord, even though we are in that place, we present ourselves to you today. We ask that you would cleanse us, that you would wash us. We’re thankful that we can come before your throne of grace boldly, and that you will give us mercy. Lord, I pray today, Lord, that you would help us to see you rightly, father, that you would help us to know you deeply, Lord, that you would walk with us in intimacy.

00:02:55:20 – 00:03:30:21
Unknown
Father, that you would teach us how to live for you humbly and also, Lord, that you would cause us to represent you powerfully by the Spirit of God, that same spirit that raised Jesus Christ our Savior, the glorious King, raised him from the grave, the power of the resurrection that flowed through him, and that now flows through us.

00:03:30:23 – 00:03:53:26
Unknown
Father, we ask that you would raise us up today as mighty men and women of God who are unafraid and unashamed to step into who you’ve called us to be in spite of our shortcomings, our frailties.

00:03:53:28 – 00:04:16:11
Unknown
We’re spirit. Move upon us today with power. Let your word go forth not just in word and in teaching, but empower and demonstration, because you alone are God. There is none like you.

00:04:16:13 – 00:04:35:07
Unknown
Father, cause us to receive from your throne today, from your heart today. In the name of Jesus. Everyone said Amen.

00:04:35:10 – 00:05:01:03

I want to first start today by honoring pastor Bob. And he spoke an incredible word last week. If you weren’t, if you weren’t here, I would highly recommend you go. Go look it up and listen to it and take notes. Because the Lord was speaking. And he said a couple things that I want to, re-emphasize today. It’s really what the message is about today.

00:05:01:06 – 00:05:17:00
Unknown
But he said God is releasing his anointing and authority. And God is releasing his anointing and authority.

00:05:17:02 – 00:05:31:06
Unknown
God is faithful to his promises, and God will perform what he says he will do. Amen.

00:05:31:08 – 00:05:58:07
Unknown
He also said something that I’m so glad he said because it was, It’s been burning in my heart for a while. But he said these words. He said he’s speaking to the his generation. We’re also his age group because we’re all the same generation. He’s speaking to his age group and said, let’s go strong to the end.

00:05:58:09 – 00:06:04:25
Unknown
Here we go.

00:06:04:27 – 00:06:17:29
Unknown
I want to say that to every age group. Let’s go strong to the end. Yes. That’s who we are made of. That’s that’s what we’re made of. Yes.

00:06:18:01 – 00:06:21:00
Unknown
Listen.

00:06:21:02 – 00:06:36:09
Unknown
In this world, Jesus said you will have trouble in this world. Jesus said, you will have tests in this world. You will have trials. In this world, you will have hardships.

00:06:36:11 – 00:07:13:17
Unknown
But fear not, because I have overcome the world. Those are the words of our Savior, Jesus. Now, I know I speak very kind of blunt for just a moment before I start getting into the heart of the message, but I know that when pastor Bob fell off the stage and the Lord kept him, and the Lord has raised him up, and the Lord has healed him and is restoring him, and is sustaining his life, just like he’s sustaining everyone’s life.

00:07:13:20 – 00:07:42:08
Unknown
I know that there was a shockwave that that wanted to try to grip a lot of people, and it was a fear. Yes. The Bible calls that the sting of death. It’s this shockwave of like, oh my God, what’s going to happen? And I don’t know about you, but definitely happened to me. All of a sudden this door wants to open and wants to flood in.

00:07:42:15 – 00:08:09:02
Unknown
Is this constant stream of fear. What’s going to happen next? What about my life? Oh my God, what if I have a heart attack? Hello? Yes. All sorts of things start opening up now. Maybe you are here and experience that in the room. But the enemy definitely still works in this way. He comes in like a flood and he tries to flood our life with fear.

00:08:09:04 – 00:08:26:17
Unknown
He tries to flood our life with what’s going to happen next. What if my kid this. And what if my wife gets in an accident? And what if that and all these insane scenarios and what what does it do? It keeps us bound in this place of fear.

00:08:26:19 – 00:08:36:04
Unknown
I’ll get to the punchline now, because I don’t want you to stay here. I don’t even like talking about this part because of how it just feels.

00:08:36:06 – 00:09:19:17
Unknown
That God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind. When fear comes in like a flood, you know what fights it. That sound mind? A sound mind that says, no, I will not allow these thoughts to come into my life. I will not allow the enemy to begin to flood my soul with pictures, images, thoughts, and try to scare me back into a place of paralysis.

00:09:19:20 – 00:09:33:24
Unknown
I will not come under that torment any longer. Yeah. God’s dealing with fear today.

00:09:33:27 – 00:09:42:25
Unknown
So let’s go strong to the end. No matter what the end looks like.

00:09:42:27 – 00:10:12:04
Unknown
I know it’s easy to say Jeremiah 46. Your life is all ahead of you. You’re like, I’ve been sick for ten straight days. I have not, my wife will attest. I have not been able to get out of bed for like five straight days. Just flat, laid out, shivering and, you know, the whole nine. And while I was laying there, a lot of people’s minds or people’s faces started coming to mind because there was very little I could do.

00:10:12:07 – 00:11:07:01
Unknown
I want to just prophesy this to. Everybody in the room. But if you know, you know. No matter what the end might look like. Going strong to the end is being a person filled with faith, trusting the Lord Jesus. Trusting him all the way. All the way into his arms. I just get the picture of like you running your race and you’re not slowing down, and you’re running your race and you sprint and you break through that finish line of your life, and you collapse right into the arms of your Savior.

00:11:07:04 – 00:11:35:14
Unknown
That’s what we’re meant to do in in living out our life, young or old, is we run hard after him. Fervent fixed on him. He’s the most important thing. He gets the priority. Everything else can bow down. Especially fear. But fear is not going to run my life. And.

00:11:35:16 – 00:11:58:24
Unknown
And it doesn’t have to run yours. It was quoted today already. I was going to preach a little part of this, but Luke ten. I’ve given you power and authority over all the power of the enemy, and you can tread on snakes and scorpions. You could drink poison. You know, some of this is a little, you know, don’t go drink poison.

00:11:58:24 – 00:12:05:08
Unknown
And, Tessa, you know, some of the stuff we’re drinking nowadays is poison.

00:12:05:11 – 00:12:17:02
Unknown
Soda. Excuse me. Pardon my pardon. My sickness.

00:12:17:04 – 00:12:47:17
Unknown
But it won’t harm you. It will have no effect on you. Matter of fact, Bible says Amen. Do we believe this? Are we grabbing Ahold of this? Yes. All right. Lastly, pastor Bob said, go in the power and might and strength of the Holy Spirit. Again, it’s not by might. It’s not by power, but it’s by your spirit, saith the Lord of hosts.

00:12:47:19 – 00:13:00:04
Unknown
It’s by his spirit. It’s by his spirit. I know that sounds so great. And we’re like, cool. It’s by his spirit. Now what?

00:13:00:06 – 00:13:07:02
Unknown
I hope today we’ll get into the. Now what? And we’ll give you something practical.

00:13:07:05 – 00:13:31:24
Unknown
So today I’m talking about the anointed physician. Now, this is the name. It’s not literally in the Bible, the Great Physician, but a lot of people have kind of, noted that in, in the Bible or commentaries where they say the Great Physician and I wrote down a great physician, I was like, yeah, he is great. He does great things.

00:13:31:27 – 00:13:59:20
Unknown
But you know why? He was great? Because he was anointed. Now. So I’m changing all of Christian theology right now. I’m calling it the Anointed Physician. And then I will attribute the Great Physician to the father. Right. And we’ll touch down on that in a second. My assignment today is to preach to you out of Mark chapter two.

00:13:59:23 – 00:14:23:22
Unknown
We’re going to talk about the man who was paralyzed. He was brought before the Lord. He was dropped down through the roof of a home and some pretty cool radical things happened, which resulted in the man walking out of the door, came in through the roof, walked out of the door completely whole. Some pretty cool pictures here.

00:14:23:25 – 00:14:39:28
Unknown
So let me give you a little context before we jump into Mark two. I’m going to start in the book of Luke, Luke three. I’m just going to paraphrase a few of the things I want to give you a little bit of the timeline, just for sake of those who may not have read through these particular passages.

00:14:40:00 – 00:15:04:09
Unknown
Luke three. This is essentially the beginning of Jesus’s ministry. He gets baptized by John the Baptist, right? Goes down under the water. He comes up out of the waters. And the Bible describes that, the Spirit of God, the Holy Spirit, descended upon him in the form of a man. Because the Holy Spirit is a person, the Holy Spirit is not a bird.

00:15:04:11 – 00:15:34:27
Unknown
Okay? Holy spirit descended like a dove. So beautifully, elegantly, and landed and remained on Jesus. So he was empowered in that moment by the Holy Spirit, the anointing. Okay. Then he gets affirmed by his father. There’s a there’s a a voice comes from heaven says, you are my son, whom I love, with whom I am well pleased. There’s the official heaven endorsement.

00:15:34:29 – 00:16:00:11
Unknown
Okay? The King, father in heaven, says good job, son. God. Time. Okay. Now Luke four Jesus is led by the same spirit that came and descended on him, is led by that same spirit. Spirit into the wilderness for a time of testing.

00:16:00:13 – 00:16:23:26
Unknown
After that time of testing, where he triumphs right, defeats the, defeats the onslaught of the enemy, at least at that time, because the Bible says that the devil left him until another opportune time, or another time where he would come to test him again and again and again. By the way, you know, Jesus got tested all the way up to the point of being on the cross.

00:16:23:28 – 00:16:35:09
Unknown
Right. He’s nailed to the cross and people are ridiculed. Him saying, if you’re the Son of Man, step down off the cross. And he said, I can’t step down.

00:16:35:12 – 00:16:46:07
Unknown
Because I got to go all the way. I got to finish strong.

00:16:46:10 – 00:17:15:23
Unknown
So Jesus returns. Now he gets out of the wilderness and the Bible says there’s a specific little Scripture says he came out of the wilderness anointed with power. Right. So he’s anointed, confirmed, affirmed. Tested comes out of that time of testing, anointed, empowered by the Holy Spirit to do mighty works.

00:17:15:26 – 00:17:34:17
Unknown
And in Luke four he continues. He goes to a synagogue in Nazareth. He opens a scroll. By the way, it’s our chapter, and verse is so nice today we’re like Isaiah 60, and I just tap buttons on my screen and there it is. They had to like, opened these huge scrolls and there’s no numbering system. There’s not.

00:17:34:22 – 00:18:10:14
Unknown
I mean, he had to find the place where this passage was, was laid out. We know it as Isaiah 61. He would have just opened the book of Isaiah and scroll through and scroll through, and oh, Jesus was scrolling, too. Hey, that’s cool. Ha ha ha ha. Dad joke. There we go. So he scrolls to Isaiah 61 and he says, The Spirit of the Lord is on me because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor.

00:18:10:16 – 00:18:40:21
Unknown
He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, and to set the oppressed free, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor. Amen. So he quotes Isaiah 61. Of course he hands the book the scroll back to the attendant and says, this day that prophecy is fulfilled in your hearing. Luke five Jesus calls.

00:18:40:22 – 00:19:10:18
Unknown
Now he’s recruiting. He recruits disciples, and then he heals a leper. This is a very unique account where Jesus expresses to the leper his willingness to heal. The man says, if you will, you could make me clean. And Jesus just simply says, I am willing. It is my will. You know why it was Jesus’s will? Because it was the father’s will.

00:19:10:21 – 00:19:31:02
Unknown
I’m going to say this. I don’t have time to dive into all of this. There will be some teaching, hopefully down the road that will develop this more. But God the Father and God the Son and God the Holy Spirit are all united in healing.

00:19:31:04 – 00:19:40:18
Unknown
They are not. They don’t have a differing opinion on healing. It is the father’s will to heal.

00:19:40:20 – 00:20:09:13
Unknown
It’s his will. Jesus said, is my will to do the will of my father. The Son of Man can do nothing of himself, but only what he sees the father doing, and only what he hears the father saying. That’s what I do. He has no power of his own. Just like I have no power on my own to speak to cancer and cancer to go away.

00:20:09:16 – 00:20:36:21
Unknown
I have no power on my own to even know what’s going on with somebody. If they’re sick. But through the power of the Holy Spirit and the anointing and the authority that comes by yielding one’s life to that power, to the Holy Spirit, you can then begin to operate in realms that are beyond just our natural ability, beyond the natural understanding, beyond the natural wisdom.

00:20:36:26 – 00:21:05:21
Unknown
But you can begin to operate in a supernatural sphere because the Holy Spirit is now telling you what’s going on, telling you how to pray for the situation, and then he is going into it with power and dealing with it. Amen. It’s God’s will to heal. Now, does healing come automatically? Immediately? Every single time. No it doesn’t. There are three types of healing.

00:21:05:23 – 00:21:33:27
Unknown
There’s progressive healing. There’s instant healing, and there’s eternal healing. Now, I’ll tell you right now, the first one that the Lord is the most, that’s a priority to God is eternal healing for our spirit. See, there’s three parts spirit, soul, and body. God’s first priority in healing us is that we have a new spirit. And that’s a miraculous resurrection from death.

00:21:33:29 – 00:21:59:10
Unknown
Every single person in this room, if you’ve received Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, you have a new spirit. You literally, spiritually have been raised from death, and you have an eternal spirit born of God by incorruptible, of incorruptible seed, by the Word of God which lives and abides forever. That’s new. Can’t be corrupted, can’t go backwards into death.

00:21:59:10 – 00:22:23:02
Unknown
It’s new and it’s secure. And it’s God in you. And that’s your new spirit. And if you don’t have that today, you can get it today. You can be resurrected from spiritual death today. It’s it’s it takes moments. It’s a moment of faith and a prayer before the Lord. It’s more than just a commitment, by the way. We’re not just making, you know.

00:22:23:07 – 00:22:45:18
Unknown
We’re not just saying, like, oh, I’m making a decision for Christ today. You are making the decision. But what you’re really doing is you’re declaring your dependance on him, that you need a savior and you need a Lord. I need someone to deliver me, and I need someone to direct me.

00:22:45:20 – 00:23:15:04
Unknown
If I get delivered but I don’t have someone directing me, I’m wandering. I’m saved. But I’m wandering and it’s going to be rough. But when I’m delivered and I’m directed. Walking with the Lord, putting him as king. Rightful place, he gives Holy Spirit he’s got free gifts. As soon as you join, as soon as you join the kingdom of God, he’s like, oh cool, I’m going to give you the best gift ever, the Holy Spirit.

00:23:15:07 – 00:23:41:04
Unknown
And he’s going to lead you into truth. He’s going to comfort you. He’s going to take care of you. He’s going to keep you, help you keep your life holy. He’s going to give you a hey need to change direction. He will help you stay on the path of the. Just. So this is the whole lead up to this, this chapter in Mark where Jesus cleanses the leper and then he comes into the town of Capernaum.

00:23:41:06 – 00:23:49:20
Unknown
And this is kind of where we’re going to hand it off to Mark. But I want to make one quick little note here. In Luke five verses 17.

00:23:49:22 – 00:23:58:28
Unknown
It says. And the power of the Lord was present to heal them.

00:23:59:00 – 00:24:16:15
Unknown
Just keep that in the back of your mind as we get into the in the the Scripture of Mark, I’m going to read you the Scripture. I’m going to Expositor. It just a little bit. And then we’re going to we’re going to close for today. Okay. You guys ready? Can you stay with me and stay strong to the end,

00:24:16:17 – 00:24:41:09
Unknown
We can do it. All right. Let’s open our hearts. Because God really wants to deposit into you who you really are. Today is a little bit of an identity message. There’s going to be a little bit of an a challenge in there. But the challenge is it because he’s talking to you about something you aren’t? He’s talking to you about who you actually are, what you’re capable of.

00:24:41:12 – 00:24:59:28
Unknown
Okay. And we’re going to cut straight across all the lies of the enemy that says, you’re not able. You’re not worthy. You’re not. You don’t have what it takes. I’m not like that guy. I’m not like that girl. He’s the Spirit of God is just going to slice right through all that garbage and speak to who you truly are.

00:25:00:00 – 00:25:31:17
Unknown
Your real makeup. Your real design. Amen. All right, Mark, chapter two. And again, Jesus entered Capernaum after some days, and it was heard that he was in his house. Immediately many gathered together so that there was no longer room to receive them, not even near the door. And he preached the word to them. Then then they came to him, bringing a paralytic, who was carried by four men.

00:25:31:19 – 00:25:54:25
Unknown
And when they could not come near him because of the crowd, they uncovered the roof where he was. So when they had broken through, they let down the bed on which the paralytic was lying. When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, son, your sins are forgiven. You. And some of the scribes were sitting there and reasoning in their hearts, why does this man speak blasphemies like this?

00:25:54:27 – 00:26:25:23
Unknown
Who can forgive sins, but God alone? But immediately, when Jesus perceived in his spirit that they reasoned these things within themselves, he said to them, why do you reason about these things in your heart? Which is easier to say to the paralytic, your sins are forgiven you? Or to say, arise, take up your bed and walk, but that you may know that the Son of Man has power on earth to forgive sins.

00:26:25:25 – 00:26:49:18
Unknown
He said this to the excuse me to the paralytic. I say to you, arise, take up your bed and go to your home. Immediately he arose, took up the bed, and went out in the presence of them all, so that all were amazed and glorified God, saying, or they all glorified God, saying, we never saw anything like this.

00:26:49:21 – 00:26:57:00
Unknown
Wow, very familiar passage for those that have been in the church for a little while.

00:26:57:02 – 00:27:31:00
Unknown
Let’s just pass through this thought. It was going to come. Thank you Lord. Take my calf away. Didn’t it didn’t work? It didn’t work. Guess what? Is he. Is he still a healer? Even though I’m not healed yet? Are you sure? Yes. I receive it. I receive it. And I’m going to take a page out of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego.

00:27:31:02 – 00:27:54:14
Unknown
There’s their word. They spoke to the king. Even if and even if the cough doesn’t lift off my lungs in the next ten minutes, even if it’s a little rough going for the next couple of months, even if I have this thing in my body till the day that I run through that finish line and into the arms of Jesus.

00:27:54:16 – 00:28:10:01
Unknown
It’s not listen to me. Not going to slow me down or stop me from being faithful to what God has called me to do. I’m prophesying over this church.

00:28:10:04 – 00:28:21:11
Unknown
Just because we don’t see physical healing happen does not mean we throw our faith in the trash.

00:28:21:14 – 00:28:48:26
Unknown
Just because it’s hard. Just because we might struggle. Just because we might be addicted one moment and then breaking through the next moment and then slipping up the next moment. It does not change a thing. God is faithful. Even if we aren’t faithful. He remains faithful. Even if, even if, even if I will not.

00:28:48:28 – 00:29:00:27
Unknown
Step back. I will keep my hand on that plow. I will keep pressing forward to the high calling in Christ Jesus.

00:29:01:00 – 00:29:09:02
Unknown
This is who we are. This is what we do.

00:29:09:04 – 00:29:17:13
Unknown
This is for somebody today. Fight with everything you got. Whatever you got. Bring it.

00:29:17:16 – 00:29:36:09
Unknown
For those at home. I’ve been thinking of a few different people. I don’t want to speak their names out, but a few of them. You fight with all you got. You pray even if it’s under your breath. While you’re wrapped up in your bed and you can’t do anything.

00:29:36:11 – 00:29:46:07
Unknown
You pray even though you just had an episode or this or that or whatever. You hold fast.

00:29:46:09 – 00:30:18:05
Unknown
So when this church really comes into and I believe we’re breaking into this, right? This is not a, this is not a reprimand. This is a this is an encouragement. We’re breaking into this place where we’re under coming to understand who we actually are in Christ, that we are overcomers. We’re positioned with him, that we will be with him and will we all know the power of his resurrection, but we also know the fellowship of his sufferings, and we will not shrink back from suffering.

00:30:18:07 – 00:30:24:03
Unknown
Matter of fact, in suffering, there’s extreme power released.

00:30:24:05 – 00:30:55:05
Unknown
His strength is made perfect in weakness. He doesn’t call those who are strong and capable and able and smart and out with everything. And no. He calls those who will be faithful over him. Yeah. So again, verse one through two, there’s this amazing scene. There’s a house. Could I get those slides real quick of the roof? There’s a house.

00:30:55:08 – 00:31:21:06
Unknown
And, news spreads so fast that Jesus is is back in town that the room fills up immediately. Can you go to the, Oh. Is that the the inside one? There should be an inside one. There you go. So they’re inside of a house, and I want you to see the roof construction real quick. There’s. They put some beams across, they put some logs across, and then they start putting down a layer of straw.

00:31:21:08 – 00:31:39:28
Unknown
And that straw layer is kind of the layer that’s going to help keep the clay from falling through. And then they start to pat clay on top. Let’s go to the top shot of the roof. Cool. So they’re packing clay on top of the straw. And then they let that clay. That clay will eventually dry and harden.

00:31:39:28 – 00:32:01:24
Unknown
And that roof will be an actual wonderful place where they can go recreate. They can pray, they can entertain. They can do various things on the roof. If you look up roofs, there’s some very interesting things about roofs. So there’s this house with this kind of roof. So, you know, this is a common thing. Going up on the roof in those days was not uncommon.

00:32:01:27 – 00:32:26:26
Unknown
Okay. But the house below it is packed with people standing room only, all the way to the door. And then beyond the door, there’s people outside the door and they are like turned in, listening, trying to hear the master teach. So we pick it up in verse three. The Scripture says that that they came to him. They were bringing a paralytic, but they couldn’t get in the house.

00:32:26:28 – 00:32:56:29
Unknown
So they decided to go up on the roof and they go up on the roof. And they began to break up the clay because it hardened. They had to break it up. They began to peel back the straw. They began to perhaps move a few of those posts out of the way, to create enough of an opening to where they can then carefully lower down their friend.

00:32:57:01 – 00:33:19:03
Unknown
Now that room was filled with people, so I don’t know exactly where that landing zone was. I don’t know how much of a perimeter that you know, maybe the Jesus’s aura just held space. And, you know, he just kind of like, oh, you know, Jesus. I wouldn’t be surprised. But that’s what those four men did, okay? No regard for whose house it was.

00:33:19:05 – 00:33:48:04
Unknown
They just they just, Well, listen to me. They broke through. God. Yes. Okay, so let’s talk about the paralytic real quick. A paralytic is one who’s, the Bible would say. And King James, sick of the palsy, that was somebody who was afflicted with paralysis. Okay. And so there’s many different forms of paralysis. So we’re not exactly sure there’s paralysis that comes by disease.

00:33:48:07 – 00:34:08:09
Unknown
Right. This is like Ms. and ALS and Parkinson’s and it’s nerve damage, but it’s brought on by some sort of meningitis can be part of this. There is a disease that happens that attacks the nerves. Listen to me. If you hear this on a prophetic level, for the church, for the body of Christ, there’s a disease that comes in and it attacks the nervous system.

00:34:08:09 – 00:34:14:15
Unknown
The nervous system is the system that allows impulse.

00:34:14:17 – 00:34:43:05
Unknown
Electrical current communication to transfer between the brain the stem of the spine into the body for whatever reason, this has been deteriorating or dying off in this person. And it can shut down, the ability to move. Okay, so when someone is paralyzed, it deprives them of the power of motion. It actually destroys energy. It keeps one’s life bound.

00:34:43:07 – 00:35:00:18
Unknown
Okay, so he’s paralyzed again? Not sure. Was it just his legs? Was it an arm? Was it just one side of his body? Not sure, but he was paralyzed enough to where he couldn’t walk. And four guys had to carry him.

00:35:00:21 – 00:35:30:24
Unknown
Now, these four men in the KJV, it’s a very interesting phrase. It says, which was born, these four they carried him. But the in the Greek it’s this word arrow means to take up oneself and carry, to take up and to carry or to raise up and to bear. George, come here real quick.

00:35:30:26 – 00:35:37:15
Unknown
So this is arrow.

00:35:37:17 – 00:36:12:25
Unknown
Okay. So if if he couldn’t walk on his own, then I would help him get to where he needs to go. This is arrow he carried that carried him. Okay. Okay, George. Here you go. All right. Thank you for that. Oh! Stretcher my back. I did not warm up for that. So it took for these incredible men. By the way, they didn’t just pick him up.

00:36:13:01 – 00:36:17:09
Unknown
They walked a long ways.

00:36:17:11 – 00:36:31:23
Unknown
They walked. They had to go at a different pace than everybody else who was running to get to Jesus. Then they get to where there’s the door, but we can’t bring them in. Hey, I got an idea.

00:36:31:26 – 00:36:38:12
Unknown
What? I was going to give them names and make this really, like, a comedy, but.

00:36:38:14 – 00:36:53:05
Unknown
They bring them up top under this roof that we just looked at right? They set them down and they go to work. You know, it’s interesting thinking about this. In order to work on the roof.

00:36:53:08 – 00:37:02:29
Unknown
This is about how low they’d have to be. They had to be on their hands and knees breaking up.

00:37:03:02 – 00:37:19:15
Unknown
Breaking up the ground. Peeling back the straw. Getting the raw logs out of the way. Not falling through themselves. And then they picked them up. Yeah.

00:37:19:17 – 00:37:29:20
Unknown
And they lowered him and presented him before the Lord.

00:37:29:23 – 00:37:34:29
Unknown
I know it’s already. Speak into your hearts.

00:37:35:01 – 00:37:48:22
Unknown
As they’re doing this, Jesus looks up and the Bible says something really remarkable. Jesus sees their faith.

00:37:48:25 – 00:38:13:26
Unknown
Those four men, they demonstrated their faith. This wasn’t just. And don’t. Don’t kill me. Wrong. This is good. But I’m going to say this is a good starting point. It’s one thing to see a paralytic and go, let me just pray for you real quick, father, heal this paralytic. In Jesus name, Amen. That’s good. Good. If we’re not praying, that’s not good.

00:38:13:28 – 00:38:31:13
Unknown
Right. But at least there’s there’s some energy effort directed in to the direction of the person who has no energy and can express no effort following me. But these guys said, hey.

00:38:31:15 – 00:38:42:21
Unknown
We’re not going to let you just sit here and wither away. Amen. God, we’re taking you to him.

00:38:42:23 – 00:38:59:16
Unknown
And they picked him up and they went however far they had to go. I mean, you’d walked everywhere in those days. Did you guys know that the blind man had to walk? This is a little different, healing moment. But did you know the blind man, when Lord went down, grabbed clay, made mud, put it on his eyes.

00:38:59:16 – 00:39:19:18
Unknown
They estimate that that blind man had to walk to where he had to wash over a half a mile, still blind mud on his face. What just happened to me? And he had to work his way down to the waters where his miracle was.

00:39:19:21 – 00:39:26:13
Unknown
What are you saying? By what are you saying? I’m saying this. Let me say it plainly.

00:39:26:16 – 00:40:03:16
Unknown
Part of our DNA, part of our identity, is to be in a position before the Lord on behalf of other people who may not be in that position themselves, may be overtaken in a fall, like it says in Galatians six, may be overrun by the enemy, and they need troopers, paratroopers. They need people, sons and daughters of God to go into their life, insert themselves into their life, and begin to grab them up and say, we’re not going to let you stay here.

00:40:03:19 – 00:40:27:18
Unknown
There’s no judgment in that or my, my, my family that’s come to visit. Hi, guys. Welcome to Word of Life from the lakes. Hello. You can’t leave each other out there.

00:40:27:21 – 00:40:53:07
Unknown
Jesus sees their faith, the faith of four friends in action. He sees what James is talking about when he says faith without works is dead. You can tell me about your faith all day long, but if you don’t go do it, it doesn’t have its intended effect. I can tell you, I love Jesus. Jesus saved my life. Jesus is so wonderful.

00:40:53:10 – 00:41:26:14
Unknown
He’s so, so good to me. Praise Jesus and I can walk outside and somebody could need Jesus and I could not say anything. God help me, I do this. I’m not throwing any stones at anybody. I’m just saying. That faith without works is dead. Then Jesus said, great is their faith. Look at their faith. Wow. Because of their faith, healing was released.

00:41:26:17 – 00:41:37:14
Unknown
Now the manner in which Jesus healed them is very interesting. I’m going to give you five minutes on this and then we’ll close for today.

00:41:37:17 – 00:41:41:29
Unknown
Actually, let me do this. I’m going to wrap for today.

00:41:42:01 – 00:41:51:02
Unknown
There’s a part to coming to a theater near you.

00:41:51:05 – 00:42:06:14
Unknown
I mean, is it let’s just take away the let’s take away the first half of this. There’s a whole dialog with the scribes, and there’s more there that that is for us to understand. But today, here’s here’s the heart of the Lord.

00:42:06:16 – 00:42:31:13
Unknown
God wants every single one of his sons and daughters to be part of his healing activity, his healing ministry in the earth. Every single person is a part of that. That is part of your identity. Now, God does work in mysterious ways, and he brings about these healings in different ways. And I want to make sure that we understand healing is not just body dimensional.

00:42:31:16 – 00:42:57:02
Unknown
That’s most of what we relegate it towards. But healing is for your spirit. It is for your soul, and it is for your physical body. Yes. Now I’ll say this too. I told you about the priority. God’s priority is that your spirit is fully like him. First, then that your soul begins to reflect his image. And we grow and we learn about that.

00:42:57:02 – 00:43:40:26
Unknown
That’s a process of being healed. Yes. And then thirdly, God says, you will have glorified bodies one day. That never decay or die or never weak, never feeble, never diseased, never ridden with any kind of, any kind of illness. Because why sin, our nemesis, has actually been finally dealt with. And so when death is put under his feet and sin is overcome, there will be a time or of a resurrection to life where we will receive glorified bodies.

00:43:40:28 – 00:43:54:12
Unknown
That body is perfect. This body, the one I’m standing in right now, this body is decaying.

00:43:54:15 – 00:44:29:02
Unknown
Okay. It’s decaying because why the cause? The cause? The cause is always sin. Because of Adam. When Adam sinned, death, sin and death came upon everyone. That’s that flood. But praise God through one man, Jesus Christ. He was the ransom. He paid the penalty for sin because he paid that penalty. Because he paid that penalty.

00:44:29:05 – 00:44:53:21
Unknown
Because he paid that penalty, sin could be dealt with. Death could be dealt with. Yes, it helps us get reconnected with God. But just like we say about salvation, we are saved. Being saved, hope to be saved. That’s how we live. Healing is the same. We are healed.

00:44:53:24 – 00:45:24:01
Unknown
Walking in healing. Hello spirit has been perfectly healed. Your spirit is perfect, but we’re being made whole in our soul. We’re being healed there and then eventually there will be this eternal, glorifying healing, a final restoration, a final moment where his new creation is fully complete and we will walk into a wholeness. So if our physical body isn’t holding out right now, guess what?

00:45:24:01 – 00:45:56:18
Unknown
Your physical body is waiting for you in the resurrection. That’s truth. That’s the Bible. That’s your reality. If in that meantime, before we break through that finish line into the arms of Jesus, if our soul suffers, there’s healing, there’s there’s deliverance. God doesn’t want us to suffer. He doesn’t want that. Right. Scripture says that he he. It was a salutation, but he prays that, we be found, whole and in good health, even as our soul prospers.

00:45:56:18 – 00:46:18:09
Unknown
Paraphrasing roughly. So our soul has to prosper. God wants us to you to be marked by joy, marked by peace. No anxiety, no fear, no depression. Like we have to fight back against those things because that’s not our true identity. God has made us free. He’s given us a path, right? A spirit of power, love and a sound mind.

00:46:18:11 – 00:46:43:13
Unknown
So that is the life of healing. There’s an anointing that comes from Holy Spirit. There’s an anointing to break through every yoke of bondage. Right? It’s the anointing that breaks the yoke of bondage. That anointing is the Holy Spirit. So let me close with this. We’ll just pray for Stan.

00:46:43:15 – 00:46:46:01
Unknown
Thank you Lord.

00:46:46:04 – 00:46:48:29
Unknown
Thank you Lord.

00:46:49:01 – 00:47:12:29
Unknown
So father, we just thank you today, Lord, for your faithfulness. It’s your faithfulness, Lord. It’s your faithfulness. God. Father. And we just stand. Lord, we stand before you, Lord. And we we thank you, Lord, that you have made a way, that you’re the firstborn of many brethren.

00:47:13:01 – 00:47:23:28
Unknown
Father. And even though, like I pray before, even though we may feel like we don’t measure up, father, cause us to see that we measure up in Christ.

00:47:24:00 – 00:47:54:02
Unknown
That it’s about Christ’s faithfulness. It’s about Christ’s righteousness. It’s about his joy, his determination, his example. And because he did, and because we are also empowered by the Holy Spirit, we can walk. Even as he walked, even as he walked. So, father, I pray today. Everybody raise your hands if you will. Father, I pray today, Lord, that you would fill us today fresh, fresh infilling.

00:47:54:02 – 00:48:23:17
Unknown
Oh Lord of courage and joy and peace. Father, we pray that you would flood in your love and eradicate every area of fear and fears, tormenting, torturing, power. We break that power in the name of Jesus Christ by the authority of the word of the Lord Jesus, and by the authority and power of his precious blood. We break every area of fear.

00:48:23:17 – 00:49:02:24
Unknown
Oh God, now let it flush out of us, Lord, Lord, and I pray that you would put within us, Lord, a sound mind, a mind that is stayed upon you, a mind that has found peace of mind that will find joy, a mind that will think only about good and godly things, and I pray, Lord, that every area where we have been paralyzed, where we have held back, where we have been stung by, by sin, oh Lord, father, that you would raise us up.

00:49:02:26 – 00:49:10:00
Unknown
I just hear the Lord saying to you today, sons and daughters, your sins are forgiven.

00:49:10:02 – 00:49:16:18
Unknown
Your sins are forgiven.

00:49:16:21 – 00:49:20:26
Unknown
Your sins are forgiven.

00:49:20:28 – 00:49:31:22
Unknown
Every area, every place of shame, every guilt. God says your sins are forgiven.

00:49:31:25 – 00:49:46:25
Unknown
God says you don’t have to make yourself clean. That’s my job. You’re supposed to surrender. Let me cleanse your life.

00:49:46:27 – 00:50:17:10
Unknown
God says you are to purify your life. But you do that by continually bringing your life before me. And father, I just lastly pray, Lord, that we would take up the cause for our brother and our sister Lord, that we wouldn’t stand by idly. While many need care, many need prayer, many need carrying. Father, I pray that a spirit of intercession and travail would raise up in this house, Lord, like we have never seen before.

00:50:17:10 – 00:50:55:01
Unknown
Oh God, that many. Oh Lord, I just say this now, by the by the Spirit of God, that the sons and daughters would come forth and step into their destiny. And what God has called you to do in partnering with the chief intercessor, the one, the lamb, the King of Kings and Lord of Lords who prays for you and intercedes for the saints that we would join you, would join you, would join in with your heavenly calling, your heavenly duty, and raising up the lives of others around you, that the Lord might break in with healing in his wings.

00:50:55:03 – 00:51:08:03
Unknown
Father, we receive your anointing and your charge in this today in the precious name of Jesus. We thank you. Amen.

00:51:08:05 – 00:51:32:17
Unknown
Well, yeah, part two will be coming your way. We’ll be figuring this out, folks. All right, you guys, we have fellowship across the way. We have a friend here that is going to share about the Christian motorcycle, group that they, represent. And so I’m looking forward to that. Taking place. But if you’ve never been here before, we have food, prepared for you.

00:51:32:17 – 00:51:44:00
Unknown
And we’d love to get to know your story. And so do join us. It’s such an important part of word of Life fellowship. We love you, everyone.

00:51:44:03 – 00:51:44:23

Hallelujah!

There are moments in life when fear tries to rush in like a flood.

Unexpected events. Sickness. Uncertainty. The “what if” thoughts that spiral and attempt to paralyze us. But in the middle of it all, God speaks a different reality:

“God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind.”

This message isn’t just about healing—it’s about identity. It’s about who we are in Christ, how we respond in the face of fear, and how we participate in God’s healing work on the earth.

1. Called to Go Strong to the End

Jesus never promised a life without trials. In fact, He said the opposite—we will face trouble. But He also gave us the assurance that He has already overcome the world.

The call of the believer is simple, but powerful:

Go strong to the end.

Whether life is easy or difficult, whether healing comes instantly or takes time, we are called to run our race with faith—fixing our eyes on Jesus and refusing to let fear dictate our lives.

Faith doesn’t mean everything feels easy.
Faith means we keep going anyway.

2. The Reality of Fear—and the Power of a Sound Mind

Fear often comes as a flood of thoughts:

  • “What if something happens?”
  • “What if I don’t make it?”
  • “What if things get worse?”

But fear is not from God.

When fear tries to enter, we don’t just passively endure it—we reject it. We take authority over our thoughts and choose truth instead.

A sound mind says:

  • “I will not be controlled by fear.”
  • “I trust God with my life.”
  • “I will not be paralyzed.”

3. Jesus: The Anointed Physician

Jesus healed because He was anointed by the Holy Spirit.

Before His ministry began:

  • He was baptized
  • Affirmed by the Father
  • Empowered by the Spirit
  • Tested in the wilderness

Then He came out in power—healing, delivering, and restoring.

Healing was not random.
It was the will of God in action.

God the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit are united in this:

It is God’s will to heal.

4. The Three Dimensions of Healing

Healing is bigger than just physical recovery.

Pastor David outlined three types:

1. Eternal Healing (Spirit)

The moment we receive Christ, we are made new.
We are spiritually resurrected—completely transformed.

2. Progressive Healing (Soul)

Our mind, emotions, and thoughts are being renewed daily.
Freedom is a process.

3. Physical Healing (Body)

Sometimes instant.
Sometimes gradual.
Ultimately fulfilled in eternity with a glorified body.

God’s priority is always the spirit first, then the soul, then the body.

5. Faith That Carries Others

In Mark 2, a paralyzed man is brought to Jesus—not by himself, but by four friends.

When they couldn’t get through the crowd, they:

  • Climbed the roof
  • Broke it open
  • Lowered their friend down to Jesus

And the Bible says:

Jesus saw their faith.

Not just their words.
Their actions.

This is a picture of what we are called to do as believers.

Sometimes people:

  • Can’t get to Jesus on their own
  • Are paralyzed by fear, sin, or pain
  • Don’t have the strength to move forward

And that’s where we come in.

We carry them.

6. Faith Is Action, Not Just Intention

It’s one thing to say, “I’ll pray for you.”

It’s another to:

  • Show up
  • Walk with someone
  • Fight for them
  • Refuse to leave them where they are

Faith without action is incomplete.

We are called to be people who don’t just believe—but move.

7. Our Identity: Participants in God’s Healing

This message ultimately comes down to identity.

You are not just someone hoping for breakthrough.

You are:

  • Empowered by the Holy Spirit
  • Given authority in Christ
  • Called to participate in healing

Every believer has a role in God’s healing work:

  • Praying for others
  • Carrying others
  • Standing in faith
  • Refusing to quit

8. Even If… We Keep Going

One of the most powerful truths in this message:

Even if healing doesn’t happen immediately… we don’t quit.

Even if:

  • The sickness remains for a season
  • The breakthrough takes time
  • The journey is difficult

God is still faithful.

We don’t throw away our faith.
We hold the line.

Conclusion

The call is clear:

  • Reject fear
  • Walk in a sound mind
  • Trust God fully
  • Carry others in faith
  • Participate in His healing work

And above all:

Run your race strong—straight into the arms of Jesus.

📖 DISCUSSION GUIDE

Summary

This message explores how believers are called to live free from fear, walk in faith, and actively participate in God’s healing work. Through the story of the paralytic in Mark 2, we see that faith is not passive—it carries, breaks through barriers, and brings others to Jesus. Healing is holistic (spirit, soul, body), and even when outcomes aren’t immediate, we remain steadfast because God is faithful.

  6. Why is it important that faith includes action, not just belief?
  7. What is one area where you feel God is calling you to step out and trust Him more?

Closing Prayer

Father, we thank You for who You are—faithful, powerful, and full of love.
We thank You that You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind.

Lord, help us to walk in that truth daily.
Strengthen us to go strong to the end, no matter what we face.

Teach us how to trust You fully—whether in breakthrough or in process.
Give us courage to carry others, to stand in the gap, and to be part of Your healing work on the earth.

Fill us fresh with Your Holy Spirit.
Renew our minds, restore our hearts, and align us with Your purpose.

We surrender everything to You.

In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
