Pastor Bob Wilk shares a powerful testimony of God’s goodness and uses the story of the centurion (Luke 7) to teach that true authority comes from submission to God and flows through every believer as His anointing. Every member of the Church is essential, and each person is called to actively release God’s power into the world through faith and obedience.

but you’re, You’re already showing that you got this. You guys, we’ve take every precaution. We tested him up here for several, several efforts before, we handed him the mic. But Michelle Guthrie also had a word for you. A song and and, so I was going to let her, you know, introduce you with, with that song.

00:00:23:08 – 00:00:31:21
Unknown
All right, here we go.

00:00:31:23 – 00:00:58:05
Unknown
Through this, so, the song I worshiped over you, and I had the honor of having you play it for me when I came to see you. And I just want to speak it over. You okay? He saw your condition, had a plan from the start. His son for redemption. The price for your heart. And you didn’t have context for that kind of love.

00:00:58:07 – 00:01:24:22
Unknown
You didn’t understand, you couldn’t comprehend. And you knew you needed him. Then. Your heart has been in his sights long before your first breath running into his arms was running to life from death, and you felt this rush deep in your chest. Your mercy was calling out just as you were. He pulled you in and you knew you needed him.

00:01:24:22 – 00:01:53:26
Unknown
Then you ran to the father. You fell into grace. You were done with the hiding. No reason to wait. And your heart found a surge in your soul. Found a friend. So you ran to the father. Again and again and again.

00:01:53:28 – 00:02:00:07
Unknown
To give a microphone to, Wow.

00:02:00:09 – 00:02:10:17
Unknown
Everything’s blurry. Give me a.

00:02:10:20 – 00:02:40:09
Unknown
For the tears. It’s not. It’s not what you think. Yeah. Well, I don’t even know where to begin. I noticed they moved all the trees since last time I was up here. For those of you don’t know, it might be visiting. The reason they’re treating me so strange is because on December 7th, I died here.

00:02:40:11 – 00:03:03:13
Unknown
I think it was here. On this side. Okay. It’s all a blank after, twirling some trees. And actually, everything’s a blank for the next couple of days after that. And it’s all been a whirlwind since then, but I want to say I’m so thankful. I’m thankful. Firstly, obviously, to the Lord for his goodness.

00:03:03:15 – 00:03:13:12
Unknown
For saving my life. Yeah. And, I’m thankful to you.

00:03:13:15 – 00:03:18:00
Unknown
I want to say,

00:03:18:02 – 00:03:45:08
Unknown
One of the things I’ve learned through all this is that, I always knew that I loved you. I love I love his church. It’s something he birth in me way back. But I got to realize, in the process, how much you all love me. And I never really recognized that to the depth that I have in the last four months.

00:03:45:10 – 00:03:52:12
Unknown
Of his goodness and his mercy.

00:03:52:14 – 00:03:57:20
Unknown
I really didn’t plan anything today, including the message.

00:03:57:23 – 00:04:24:15
Unknown
I know I have an assignment from the pastor for this, and I will, abide by my assignment. Much of what you’ve been, prophesying and praying and Shel speaking over me is actually part of the message in many ways. I also wanted to give honor to some folks we have here. From mercy and Grace ministries, Pastor Chris and many of the other pastors.

00:04:24:15 – 00:04:41:10
Unknown
I don’t know how many are here. If you’re here, could you just stand up so I get to see you? Maybe if you hear from mercy and grace.

00:04:41:13 – 00:05:08:29
Unknown
For those of you that don’t know, mercy and grace has been going for quite a while now, and their ministry is to the prisons. They minister in multiple prisons every week, all over the all over California and in a few other states, actually. And they’ve brought thousands of men and women to the Lord through this. And I want to give you honor, Pastor Chris.

00:05:09:02 – 00:05:32:26
Unknown
For what? God’s birth in you. And when many could have run away, you ran in. All right. Father wants you to know how much you appreciate that, because, you see, it’s pretty darn easy to minister to a church filled with a bunch of believers.

00:05:32:28 – 00:05:55:23
Unknown
But when you’re ministering to someone who has no hope. No exit ramp to where they’re at, at least in their own eyes or in the eyes of the world, it’s a whole different kind of ministry to bring that kind of faith and hope to people.

00:05:55:25 – 00:06:07:14
Unknown
The Lord just spoke to my heart and said, sometimes that does happen in church.

00:06:07:17 – 00:06:13:24
Unknown
For those that joined our church today, I want to welcome you here.

00:06:13:26 – 00:06:32:21
Unknown
And for everyone else, including them, our church would not be a church without each and every one of you individuals. And this is the whole heart of understanding what a church actually is.

00:06:32:24 – 00:06:57:24
Unknown
That without you, our body, the church would not be whole and one of the greatest lies of the enemy that he comes in with. And sometimes many times our own heart condemns us in this area, is that they’ll get by without me.

00:06:57:26 – 00:07:04:28
Unknown
They won’t miss me. They won’t know if I’m there or gone.

00:07:05:00 – 00:07:27:21
Unknown
And I proclaim to you today from the father that is alive from the devil. That’s not my heart, says God, that without you here our church would not be whole without you. Here there’s components of the anointing of God that would be missing in this church.

00:07:27:24 – 00:07:36:29
Unknown
You have to see how essential you are in this place.

00:07:37:01 – 00:08:14:14
Unknown
And I’m not just saying that today, just to pump you up and make you feel good about yourself, I’m telling you, because that’s the truth of God. The word tells us in Ephesians that every part of the body of Christ supplies every joint supplies. It says that you. Trust me, I know what it feels like when one part doesn’t supply.

00:08:14:16 – 00:08:21:14
Unknown
So yeah, a few months ago, I decided to die here on this stage.

00:08:21:17 – 00:08:40:21
Unknown
Today, the Lord’s, right before Josh spoke is a word he said. Bob, take off your shoes. Like, really? God and all you’re out of take your socks off, too. I’m saying. Oh, I’m glad I took a shower.

00:08:40:24 – 00:08:45:20
Unknown
He says, because where you stand is holy ground.

00:08:45:22 – 00:09:04:20
Unknown
Not because of me, but because of him. This is his holy ground. And where each of you stand is holy ground. Because of him and because of who he’s made you in this place.

00:09:04:22 – 00:09:28:16
Unknown
It’s essential that you’re here. It’s not optional. And I know that the Lord speaking to someone here, maybe several, where you felt like, well, if I’m gone, that’s okay. Let me just say to you emphatically, if you’re gone, it’s not okay. Yeah.

00:09:28:19 – 00:09:36:09
Unknown
We really can’t make it without you.

00:09:36:12 – 00:09:46:13
Unknown
Okay. Message time. Okay. Or a different message.

00:09:46:16 – 00:10:16:24
Unknown
My assignment today is to is a continuation of the, Kingdom Way series that we’ve been doing since last summer. September a long time. It’s almost impossible to ever thoroughly, completely the kingdom of God since it’s forever growing and changing and and, being equipped. So today, my assignment is to talk to you about this funny little guy called the Centurion.

00:10:16:24 – 00:10:36:17
Unknown
And the Bible. And it’s to talk to you a little bit about, I don’t know, do we have. Whoa, there it is. Thank you. Bob. Bob. So gracious. He called me early this morning, said, hey, do we have a title? Do we have a do we have scriptures? I said, they’re coming.

00:10:36:20 – 00:11:02:22
Unknown
Maybe they’re all arrived. So this guy, the centurion, it’s interesting. We’re going to talk about this funny word called authority, which isn’t up there unless Bob’s really good. But authority’s an interesting thing, because those of you who go to Spirit School of Ministry and have been in my class and I’ve taught, by the way, it’s really difficult to teach about authority since those of you who have been in that in spirit.

00:11:02:22 – 00:11:23:17
Unknown
Three do you recall we spoke on it for 5 or 6, two hour sessions a lot, And one of the things that I, expressed to you is that when I say authority, I hear in my spirit anointing.

00:11:23:20 – 00:11:43:16
Unknown
And I’ve heard that word like three dozen times today. And I don’t know if anybody knew that what we were going to preach on or anything, but I just keep hearing anointing, anointing, anointing. But that’s the authority of God. It’s his anointing. And if you were in our class in one of those ten hour sessions, you would have seen us make a little chart up above.

00:11:43:18 – 00:12:12:11
Unknown
It looked like a little, box chart that with some God on top and his authority, his glory, his anointing flowing out from him into the body of Christ, into each and every individual member of the body of Christ. And we all have the ability and the responsibility in the anointing to either shut it down, let it pass through, or accelerated into the body of Christ.

00:12:12:16 – 00:12:53:29
Unknown
That’s the authority that God’s given each member. There’s no excuses. You don’t gets to just to be a bystander in the body of Christ. Oh come on, just because you’re standing, you know you’re not standing on this platform here means nothing, right? If God says every joint supplies, that’s what he’s talking about. He’s talking about his power, his anointing, his glory coming in and through the earth into people of God that are willing to shepherd the anointing and willing to release the anointing into other people, or listen into the entire world.

00:12:54:01 – 00:13:10:29
Unknown
All you’re thinking, oh well, this is just a little old me walk. How can it happen here, let’s read about another little old me walk. In Luke seven, I’ll begin in the beginning, or else I won’t finish at the end.

00:13:11:02 – 00:13:33:26
Unknown
Yes, you can have that. When we were in Greece, I. I said, yes, some people die and pass away. And they all started laughing. And then I realized this year, y’all. Yeah, you can die without passing away. But it’s like, okay, I’m good with that. So, Luke seven, there’s a sister scripture in Matthew eight for you scholars.

00:13:33:28 – 00:14:04:04
Unknown
Luke seven says in verse one it says, now when he concluded all his sayings in the hearings of the people, he entered Capernaum. Thanks for the Kleenex. I need that. One of the wonderful things that’s happened since my heart attack is a runny nose. Don’t ask me. It’s bad enough it’s big now. It’s running.

00:14:04:06 – 00:14:11:06
Unknown
Hey, anybody want to be a prophet?

00:14:11:08 – 00:14:37:28
Unknown
You get the heck beat out of you. Amen. It’s funny. Okay, so he enters into Capernaum. Capernaum? A small little town much smaller than me. Walk roughly around, maybe around the same size. It had probably 1500 people that during his time right now it doesn’t. I don’t even know if it exists right now. I think it’s empty. When we were there last, it was just ruins.

00:14:38:00 – 00:15:01:14
Unknown
All right? It’s like a museum. So this is a small little place that God is entering into, and he’s about to release his anointing and his authority in that place, just like he’s ready to do it and has been doing it here. You know, the lives that you saw. Join this church.

00:15:01:17 – 00:15:22:04
Unknown
They are anointed by God, but God is going to use them. You heard just a little piece of what God was telling them. You know, this morning I was in my office and I read just a little bit of a prophecy that was given to me 50 years ago, and some of it is just now unfolding in some crazy ways.

00:15:22:06 – 00:15:53:19
Unknown
God is faithful to his promise, and God God will do. He will perform what he says he will do. Yeah. So I want to encourage those that, you know, especially the young girl that was here. Don’t despise your youth. God uses young people in tremendous ways, and he also use us. Us old folks. Let’s go strong to the end.

00:15:53:21 – 00:16:17:27
Unknown
Come on, let’s not back up. Come on. You know, from this pulpit there was a crazy lady preaching up here one day, from England, Amanda Connors. I think she’s going to be out here sometime in the summer. You know, I’ve ministered with her in other places. She is crazy. I say that respectfully and truthfully. I’ve said it to her, so it’s not like a secret you can text or if you do Facebook stuff.

00:16:18:00 – 00:16:33:26
Unknown
Tell her Bob said you’re a little crazy. And she goes. She’ll know, from this fall. But she was preaching and she out of the blue, Bob will, there’s no retirement for you. I’m like.

00:16:33:28 – 00:16:38:19
Unknown
What the who? Who gave you permission?

00:16:38:22 – 00:17:16:07
Unknown
I’m like, all right. Okay. Yeah. What does that mean? What exactly does that mean? I hope it doesn’t mean he has to kill me. But what I believe it means is that we should go strong to the end. And that’s who we should operate in. The power and the might and the anointing, the Holy Spirit. Not worry so much about how we look and how we sound and what’s going on around us, or whether or not it’s actually going to, honey, I’m going to stay away, okay from this, but, how you kind of trust fall or how we look or how we see, but to know that we rely on the Lord

00:17:16:07 – 00:17:39:23
Unknown
Jesus Christ and the power, the anointing of the Holy Spirit and the father in heaven, who gave everything for you and for me. And it’s in that anointing that we operate. It’s not just how we feel. It’s not, oh, you’re having a bad hair day. I don’t get those. This is this has to do with him. With his power.

00:17:39:25 – 00:18:04:20
Unknown
So this Jesus, anointed of the Holy Spirit, walks into this tiny little town, and he goes on and says, and there was a certain centurion servant who was dear to who had a servant who was dear to him, and he was sick and ready to die. Let me tell you a little bit about a centurion.

00:18:04:22 – 00:18:41:24
Unknown
I want to say they’re kind of close to a master sergeant or a sergeant major in what we have our armies and our, you know, seals and all that. But even more, they were over a hundred men and they were powerful men. They had authority. I’m an even say they had anointing. Come on. And this particular guy, by the way, a situation unlike in a lot of armies, you know, like the general stays in the back and the some of the guys stay behind.

00:18:41:24 – 00:19:08:18
Unknown
Go get him, you know, jump out of the foxhole and go get him. The centurion was required to be in the front at all times. Come on now. And so the centurion also had to be in shape and equipped and ready. He worked out more than all his men. Eventually a centurion could. Well, first of all, while he was a centurion, he was very much honored, not just revered and feared.

00:19:08:20 – 00:19:36:25
Unknown
Because I believe he had the power of life and death in him. But he also was a man that, could eventually rise up into political statehood. Yeah. You’re with me on this. So I want you to hear about what he is. This guy in this little town of, Capernaum. To put it in relationship when he starts to come before the Lord.

00:19:36:28 – 00:20:09:16
Unknown
And he says in verse three. And so it goes on and says, so when he heard about Jesus, he sent elders of the Jews to him, pleading with him to come and heal his servant. How precious was this servant to this guy? By the way, he’s a Roman dude. He’s not one of God’s people, and he’s sending God’s people to intercede with Jesus.

00:20:09:18 – 00:20:46:26
Unknown
Oh. Come on. Church. It’s happening. It’s happening today. There are people who have reached out to this church and to other churches around to intercede with Jesus for their lives and for the lives of their friends and family. That’s the power that we have as the church. And here he goes on to say, he says, and when they came to Jesus, they begged him earnestly, saying that the one whom he should do this thing was deserving.

00:20:46:28 – 00:21:02:27
Unknown
These Jewish people were very validating. This centurion guy, how good was this guy? Think about it.

00:21:02:29 – 00:21:21:07
Unknown
And it goes on and it says, for he loves our nation and has built a synagogue. In some translations it talks about that. He built it with his own money. Who knows?

00:21:21:09 – 00:21:57:25
Unknown
And it goes on about this man and says, Then Jesus went with them. And when he was already not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to him, saying, saying to him, Lord, by the way, when the centurion says, Lord, he’s acknowledging the authority and supremacy of Jesus. You understand that that Lord thing is not just thrown around with a, centurion guy, and it should not be just thrown around with us.

00:21:57:27 – 00:22:27:27
Unknown
It implies that we are submitting to the Lord God Almighty. It’s easy to get saved. God does it all. It’s easy to make him your Savior. Everyone has that opportunity today. Even there are those here in this congregation. God’s tugging on your heart a little. I know it. Maybe you don’t know him. Or maybe you’re not sure. We’re going to give you an opportunity to know that and be sure.

00:22:27:29 – 00:22:53:26
Unknown
But it’s so easy to just come to him. You don’t have to bring anything just to you. Just you. But to know him as Lord requires a submitting to him. It it it requires and honoring him. Now, submission in our world is a bad thing. Along with authority, it’s a bad word for a lot of people. Don’t be an authority over me.

00:22:54:02 – 00:23:18:04
Unknown
You know, don’t judge me. It has nothing to do with that. It has everything to do with understanding who the Lord God is and how he works in this earth. And when you understand that, and when you understand the anointing comes down from your God, your Lord, into your life, then you will be able to distribute that anointing.

00:23:18:09 – 00:23:39:06
Unknown
Allow it to flow in and through your life like nobody’s business, because you know who your submitted to, and you know that it’s he that is working in you to do. Okay. Let’s keep going with the word here.

00:23:39:08 – 00:24:14:10
Unknown
So he says to him, Lord, do not trouble yourself. I am not worthy to show that you should enter under my roof. Therefore, I did not even think myself worthy to come to you. But say the word and my servant will be healed. Body of Christ. That same anointing is on you. You’re thinking, well, that was Jesus. Oh, wait, wait, that’s the pastor.

00:24:14:11 – 00:24:33:04
Unknown
He can say the word. No, that’s. You could. Because you’re bone of his bone and flesh of his flesh. The same spirit that raised Christ from the dead dwells in you. And he’s quickening your mortal body. He’s quickening everything about your life.

00:24:33:06 – 00:24:44:29
Unknown
He’s making everything about your life alive so that it can bring life into this world. That’s what this message is about.

00:24:45:02 – 00:25:09:12
Unknown
I’m here to stir you up and not just get you excited. It’s time for us to get a kick in the butt and get out and be who we are in Christ, and not be ashamed or bashful. I’m not saying be boastful and haughty and all that stuff. I’m saying we know who we are in God, and I know that the enemy of our soul wants to just depress that in us.

00:25:09:14 – 00:25:21:09
Unknown
Wants to make you feel like you can’t do it, and you’re not equipped enough, and you don’t have it enough. And I’m saying, if you have Jesus in your life.

00:25:21:12 – 00:25:27:26
Unknown
And just a little Jesus, it don’t take a lot.

00:25:27:28 – 00:25:55:05
Unknown
Everybody thinks, well, he created the heavens and the earth, and he must have really tried. He’s like, come on, come into being. That’s how God able to raise the dead from into life. That’s our God, able to take our lives and make them worthy and and worthwhile. That’s our God. Able to take those that are condemned and bring them to freedom completely.

00:25:55:12 – 00:26:22:00
Unknown
I loved we were at the mercy and Grace retreat last night, and, there was a man there that gave his testimony and, he had 135 year sentence. I think that was correct. Yes. 135. Yes. 37. Sorry, I, I skipped a couple of years. You know, after 130, you know.

00:26:22:02 – 00:26:43:07
Unknown
So he went to the parole board the first time and they, they said, hey, guess what? We’re going to tack on another 20. What the heck? What’s another 20 among friends? So this is the man had nothing. No future, no ability, no nothing. And then Pastor Chris and his whole team had been ministering to him for a long time.

00:26:43:08 – 00:27:06:19
Unknown
I want to talk to you about miracles that come from the anointing. Robot shit. Gotta pass. So now he goes again to see if he’s been found legitimate, worthy of something. Not knowing. Thinking. Wow, I guess it might be another 20 years I going to tack on in my life.

00:27:06:22 – 00:27:14:20
Unknown
And they let him out.

00:27:14:23 – 00:27:42:29
Unknown
And this man standing in front of us last night, humbled. God, godly man. He’s he’s in ministries. He just got approved to go back into a prison. I think it was the first prison he did time in to minister life to those people. If the anointing can fall on the man that’s sentenced to life. Why can’t he fall on a man or woman of God who sentenced to life here on earth with power and authority?

00:27:43:00 – 00:27:46:07
Unknown
Anoint anointing?

00:27:46:09 – 00:28:12:17
Unknown
That’s who we are. Look, I don’t know how many years I got left. Nobody does. But let’s go strong to the end of it. And let’s not be afraid of the next step, Come on. I was telling my friend Rob yesterday. I go, what I’ve been saying lately, and I’ve had to go to several cardiac people in the last week.

00:28:12:20 – 00:28:37:14
Unknown
Well, first of all, they’ve all acknowledged. They said you’re a miracle. Like somebody upstairs was looking out for these doctors and saying, these are like head doctors. And UCSF and I went, yeah. And I go, I’m doing my part. And God has to do his part. You hear what I’m saying? But I have to do my part and you have to do your part in the earth.

00:28:37:17 – 00:29:12:02
Unknown
God’s like. It’s your move. I’ve anointed you. I showed you how this thing works. It’s your move. All you have to do is step out. You don’t have to have super size faith. You don’t have to feel like feeli. Feel it. You just need to, like, believe in me. Not so much. Believe in yourself. Because that. Come on, the enemy gets you there, right?

00:29:12:04 – 00:29:57:08
Unknown
It’s like. Come on. This is the Church of God. Look, our responsibility is to raise up the church into maturity. That’s a power. That’s an anointing. That’s a that’s a church that thinks clearly. And that’s every member. So that when any one of us walk out those doors, or someone comes in that doesn’t know Jesus, that we know we are fully equipped, fully ready, and I don’t care if today you receive the Lord immediately, you’re ready to give of the hope that lies in you, not the hope that lies in Pastor Jonathan and Pastor Shelly, and Pastor Bob and Pastor Peyton, Celine, Pastor David, the hope that lies in you is the thing that changes

00:29:57:08 – 00:30:22:03
Unknown
people’s lives. The hope that lies in you is the thing that takes someone and heals their life, because it gives them hope. I’m sorry I get excited. Do I feel? I feel like I’m yelling. It’s okay. He’s. He landed, got a concussion, and he’s lost his mind. I really have in so many ways. So.

00:30:22:06 – 00:30:42:15

Many times I’m like, I was telling the Lord when I go, you know, Lord, sometimes I search for words like, what? What’s the next? What’s that word mean? And, you know, I think it was the compassion and just something. And I start to laugh over it now. I’m not embarrassed by it. I’m just like, man, you figure it out.

00:30:42:17 – 00:30:57:09
Unknown
You know what I mean? You’re younger. You should be able to figure this out. But, we’re so embarrassed on how we’re going to look. I don’t really. I almost cursed. I don’t know.

00:30:57:11 – 00:31:02:06
Unknown
I don’t really give a care.

00:31:02:09 – 00:31:05:20
Unknown
How I look anymore.

00:31:05:22 – 00:31:17:11
Unknown
Well. Thank you. Thank you. They have done wonders with me. No, but I. But I really care about how my heart is before him.

00:31:17:13 – 00:31:34:03
Unknown
This weird heart that decided to check out. And it also decided to check in this week. Guys like, hey, they were going to put more stents in me. I’ll give you the news. And the doctor said, you know, there’s really no reason to do that. More of those. This is your body is growing veins in your heart.

00:31:34:05 – 00:31:57:05
Unknown
I know I’m like, okay. And I’m like, okay, that’s good. That’s good news. He says, and your heart function’s gone up and, you know, keep going, keep doing what you’re doing, and God’s doing what he’s doing. And however long we have, I’m speaking to someone here. I’m especially speaking to older folks right now. No matter how long you have.

00:31:57:07 – 00:32:03:17
Unknown
Be sure you make those times anointed by God. And great are you.

00:32:03:20 – 00:32:26:00
Unknown
Why not? Let me ask you, what do you got to lose? See, that’s what the enemy does. He pushes up like, hey, you don’t want to look weird. Trust me. Or any of you going to look weird in this. Is it really possible?

00:32:26:02 – 00:32:50:21
Unknown
It’s probably possible, but just try at it. Let’s get back to the word and says I’m not worthy. They should enter under my roof. Therefore, I did not think of myself worthy. Verse seven to come to you. But say the word, and my servant will be healed. For I am also a man placed under authority, having soldiers under me.

00:32:50:23 – 00:33:09:28
Unknown
I say to one, go, and he goes, and the two and another come, and he comes. And to my servant do this. And he does this. This is quite a spiritual dissertation.

00:33:10:00 – 00:33:54:21
Unknown
He is he schooling the Lord God of the universe. Don’t come under my roof. You see, I’m a man under authority. Listen first what he says. See, a lot of people think authority comes from somebody being really authoritative, powerful, strong. And he’s saying authority comes from being under authority. Submitted willingly. Oh, come on. Come on. Am I the only one that has problem with authority?

00:33:54:24 – 00:34:22:27
Unknown
Yeah. Okay. I’m in a holy place with holy people. And so he’s like, I’m a man under authority. He puts the first premise there. See? You see, Jesus, I get how this works. I am fully, willingly submitted to the people, to the. And that time, it was the it was the, you know, Roman Empire to the Caesar. I’m fully submitted.

00:34:23:04 – 00:34:42:22
Unknown
There. And also then he goes on the second side. He goes, besides that, I’m also a man that has authority. I tell somebody to go, and they better dang go. You know what happens when they don’t go? When the centurion says go?

00:34:42:24 – 00:35:08:26
Unknown
Yeah. Chop, chop. Yeah. And so now he’s. And he goes on, and now he’s like really preaching. And he says, he does. You know, he say that one comes and he comes and my servant, listen, what he’s saying, serve a slave, okay? And do this. And he does. And when Jesus heard these things, he marveled.

00:35:08:28 – 00:35:15:06
Unknown
Hey, what would you say to Jesus to make him marvel?

00:35:15:09 – 00:35:21:18
Unknown
This is the God of the universe. He’s like, whoa!

00:35:21:20 – 00:35:27:06
Unknown
I know he didn’t say. I didn’t see that coming.

00:35:27:08 – 00:35:57:18
Unknown
It was like, whoa, this guy’s got it going. And then an interesting thing happens. He says he marveled at him and turned around and said to the crowd that followed him. Oh, the crowd that followed him was what God’s people. And he turned to that crowd, and he says, I say to you, I’ve not found so great a faith, not even in Israel.

00:35:57:21 – 00:36:02:08
Unknown
You.

00:36:02:10 – 00:36:12:04
Unknown
Jesus immediately equates authority, anointing to faith.

00:36:12:06 – 00:36:23:17
Unknown
And his faith was fully vested in Jesus Christ himself. Not just the person you know standing up in front of you.

00:36:23:20 – 00:36:34:08
Unknown
I realize it’s getting close to 12. Is this when I know proper?

00:36:34:11 – 00:36:39:19
Unknown
I think there was a I think there was a pull going on in the church.

00:36:39:22 – 00:37:01:03
Unknown
I’m like, that’s called my daughter, Dawn. Who’s the smart aleck? She was going to bring and put plastic bubble wrap over here. Thank you Dawn. Thank you very much. Okay. I joke because I don’t want to be too serious at you, but I want to encourage your life. There’s a lot more here. Jesus goes from this place.

00:37:01:03 – 00:37:24:08
Unknown
By the way. He hasn’t seen this much faith in all of Israel. And like I said, Jesus goes from here to another little town. I think it’s called name. It’s probably God, by the way. You know, Capernaum probably had 1500 people named, probably had like a couple of hundred. It’s probably as big as like maybe Nazareth was at the time.

00:37:24:09 – 00:37:45:10
Unknown
These are small little places. And by the way, in Capernaum, Jesus is doing tons of miracles there. The most miracles anywhere. When you read about it. This is I mean, he’s raising people from the dead here, right? For some of you, he’s changing the water in the wine. For some of us, it would be better if he changed it back anyway.

00:37:45:12 – 00:38:00:07
Unknown
That’s a whole different story. But.

00:38:00:09 – 00:38:23:09
Unknown
Okay, so. But he goes to this next little town after this, which I won’t bore you with the reading the word to you. You should go read the word and he’s like. He raises a young man from the dead in the middle of a crowd. They’re having a procession. This guy died. He was probably preaching. He died or he was killed.

00:38:23:10 – 00:38:41:01
Unknown
That can happen to. And he his his family. The whole town’s out there. It’s a small town. So it wasn’t a bunch of people. Maybe a few hundred. And they’re running this guy through the town like they do in some places. It’s. It’s kind of weird. In India, when I ministered there, we got stuck in a traffic jam once because they were running somebody through the through the town.

00:38:41:06 – 00:38:58:05
Unknown
It’s it happens still today. And so they’re running this guy through the town, and Jesus shows up right in the middle of this, and he raises the guy from the dead with a whole bunch of people present.

00:38:58:07 – 00:39:25:11
Unknown
Later on, you can go home and read if you have a Bible. If you don’t, I’ll get you one. He goes on later in this chapter is I mean, we’re in chapter seven. You move on to chapter nine. Chapter ten. And now he’s anointing first his disciples with power and authority, with the ability to go out and heal the sick, to raise the dead.

00:39:25:13 – 00:39:49:07
Unknown
Do you understand that? They all went out and did this? Oh, by the way, there was this one weird guy who got sent with them because they actually lost it. You guys know this guy Judas that you know that he went out because God didn’t give up on him until he gave up on God? Yeah, but.

00:39:49:09 – 00:39:53:13
Unknown
Right to the end. He even called him friend.

00:39:53:15 – 00:40:18:04
Unknown
And so they all go out and they operate in this anointing, this authority, this power, just like we all should. Later on, a couple of chapters, later in next chapter, later, you know, in, Luke, ten, he’s talking to 70. Now, he’s increased it, passed his little 12 group now to 70. And he’s like, I’ve anointed you with power and authority.

00:40:18:04 – 00:40:39:29
Unknown
And they come back, man. They are jazzed because the dead are rising. Demons are running away and being people are being delivered just like it happens in this church. And Jesus is like, I’ve given you power and authority to tread on serpents and scorpions and all the power of the enemy. That’s who you are, the Lord said. And he.

00:40:39:29 – 00:41:10:01
Unknown
Then he says, but don’t get too big ahead about that. But rejoice that your name is written in the book of life, and nobody can take you out of that book. Come on, rejoice that you’re born again of incorruptible seed by the Word of God which lives and abides forever. That’s what we rejoice in. Rejoice that I am, looking for his appearing.

00:41:10:03 – 00:41:21:09
Unknown
If I’m alive and remain when he comes back, I’ll be rejoicing along with all of us at his appearing.

00:41:21:11 – 00:41:53:26
Unknown
So this is the God that we’re talking about today. This is the Kingdom way where authority is actually the anointing of God. And with that authority that anointing is deposited into each and every one of us. No one is excused from this. Oh, Bob, I haven’t read my Bible in three months. Tough. Read it today, right? Yeah, but even more important, let it read you.

00:41:53:29 – 00:42:30:03
Unknown
Because your Bible is not just a piece of paper. You know, people are really funny like this. Pardon me? I’m going to throw my Bible around because it’s broken already. But it’s not a it’s a piece of paper. But when it’s reading you, it’s the, Come on, it’s the Lord Jesus Christ, the word who became and is made flesh and who is up in heaven right now in the flesh, just like here, which is a little mind boggling because you think you have to be a little spirit person, but in the flesh, making praying to his father sometimes for you.

00:42:30:06 – 00:42:44:27
Unknown
Like, help him. Help her, but not just help them to comfort them, but help them to know that they carry my anointing.

00:42:45:00 – 00:42:49:14
Unknown
Help them to know who they are in my body.

00:42:49:16 – 00:43:15:28
Unknown
Don’t let them back up. Don’t let them withdraw, but let them embrace who they are in me. Let them know for sure that they’re a prophet of the Most High God. Let them know that they handle the healing balm of the Lord in their hands. Let them know. Let them know they’re not excluded just because of their age.

00:43:16:00 – 00:43:44:27
Unknown
Whether young or old. Let them know who they are. That’s what our God’s interceding for. So that here in this earth, in this time today, we are anointed and we’re going to leave here. Now, we’ve gotten around 12, but I did want to ask, a couple of the folks from some of our spirit class, spirit three and maybe spirit two of some of our ministers that you’ve been through.

00:43:45:00 – 00:44:05:13
Unknown
I would like you to just come up for a moment. Just come up here, just a few of you. Let’s see who’s bashful. Don’t let me call. Let me call you Deborah. Don’t let me. Oh. Did I say something? Go ahead. Yes. Yes. Come on up. Don’t be afraid. Don’t be afraid. Well, be afraid, but come up anyway.

00:44:05:16 – 00:44:28:03
Unknown
Come on. You. Those of you who’ve been in it before or now, there’s probably at least one guy that’s been through spirit. Oh. Yeah. There is a guy. Okay. That’s cool. Oh, there’s a couple of guys. A very good. Come on, spread out over here because we’re going to go. We’re going to go to fellowship. There’s lots of food for you over there.

00:44:28:04 – 00:44:36:08
Unknown
Those of you visiting here have a great time. But I also and our pastors, if you don’t mind joining us to.

00:44:36:10 – 00:45:02:12
Unknown
Hear it. Oh, a strange visitors from other churches are here. I don’t know, but I wanted to give an opportunity first to those who might not know the Lord. But this is a great time. Like today’s a great day to come to know him and he’s fully in love with you.

00:45:02:15 – 00:45:14:20
Unknown
Like, none of these people earned his love. Through. Am I speaking out of turn for you guys?

00:45:14:23 – 00:45:21:24
Unknown
So if you, want to just come to know him, like we’re family here.

00:45:21:27 – 00:45:43:25
Unknown
You you just have questions. I’m not ashamed to ask you to, like, just like, would you just, like, raise your hand, even just a little? I know you’re a little maybe afraid, but if God’s like speaking your heart like you want to know him. And don’t worry if. Don’t worry if you don’t. That’s okay. It’s fully okay with me.

00:45:43:27 – 00:45:47:27
Unknown
I see that hand.

00:45:48:00 – 00:45:52:15
Unknown
If you’re not afraid to be anointed by him.

00:45:52:17 – 00:45:58:25
Unknown
This is the second half. This is for the believers. A couple more might come up.

00:45:58:28 – 00:46:23:29
Unknown
But. Oh, here’s one of our spirit. Yes. But if you would like to be anointed with his authority, you know that we carry that ability in us. We carry the ability. Look, he made disciples. He said, go into all the world. Yes, baptize. Teach all of that great stuff.

00:46:24:01 – 00:46:50:15
Unknown
But he’s also like, hey, do you want to go play piano, young man, or do you have to go to the bathroom? Well, come up this way, man. This is this is church. This is full contact church. When pastor Bob teaches and preaches, I’m like, okay, like, it’s okay, it’s okay, it’s good. I thought maybe you had to go to the bathroom.

00:46:50:17 – 00:46:59:00
Unknown
But if you want to be anointed by the Lord today, these people carry the anointing.

00:46:59:02 – 00:47:24:03
Unknown
And they carry the authority to lay hands on you and impart. I just said, impart to you the anointing and the authority of God. If you just believe. Yeah, you don’t have to do backflips for this. You know, you might have had a really bad day today already. You know, you might have gotten stuck in a ditch. You might be really dirty.

00:47:24:06 – 00:47:47:25
Unknown
Good. We like dirty. But if you just think, well, what does that feel like? What does it feel like stepping into that little place, that little. That just touching that place, that water. But you know, God’s, like, just come over and touch the just feel it and then jump in.

00:47:47:27 – 00:47:59:18
Unknown
It’s an opportunity for you. Maybe you’ve been struggling and maybe you’re okay with just being church people.

00:47:59:20 – 00:48:18:02
Unknown
You’re great people. God loves you. He’s madly in love with you. Maybe you’re just okay with the status quo. I’m here to announce to you God is not okay with your status quo, and he fully loves you.

00:48:18:04 – 00:48:35:13
Unknown
So then not going to come up here and, do a bunch of things to you? Some of them might. I don’t trust John. You might do something strange. Pastor John’s like that.

00:48:35:16 – 00:49:00:07
Unknown
You don’t have to do it for a show. And by the way, you could get touched in your seat. Some of them may feel like they need to go out to somebody. That’s okay, because this is church. This is how church actually works. And if you don’t feel like you really have it going, like, you know, I don’t really feel like I got that anointing that I could go out with boldness and just touch somebody’s life and believe.

00:49:00:14 – 00:49:18:10
Unknown
Let them pray for your faith. And if you’re one of those people that want to sneak up here and get saved, that’s okay too. Okay. That’s okay. We won’t know. We’re just think you’re coming up for the anointing prayer.

00:49:18:12 – 00:49:27:26
Unknown
God so loves you. He so loves you.

00:49:27:28 – 00:49:35:04
Unknown
His heart’s for you.

00:49:35:07 – 00:49:39:14
Unknown
God so loves you.

00:49:39:16 – 00:49:46:13
Unknown
He so loves you. Yes.

00:49:46:16 – 00:49:58:13
Unknown
He’s Jesus. Jesus. Oh.

00:49:58:15 – 00:49:58:21
Unknown
Yeah.

There are moments in life that reset everything.

For Pastor Bob Wilk, that moment came when his heart stopped—right on the stage. One second he was there, the next, everything went blank. And when he stood back up in front of the church months later, he wasn’t coming with a polished message. He was coming with perspective.

Gratitude, first of all.

“I’m so thankful… to the Lord for saving my life.”

But also something he didn’t fully realize before:

“I always knew that I loved the church… but I got to realize how much you all love me.”

And from there, the message started to unfold—not as a teaching first, but as a realization.

You matter more than you think

There’s a subtle thought that shows up in a lot of believers. It doesn’t always sound dramatic, but it quietly shapes how people live:

“I’m not really needed.”
“They’ll be fine without me.”

Pastor Bob doesn’t leave room for that.

“That is a lie from the devil… without you, our church would not be whole.”

That’s not hype. That’s how the Church actually works.

The body of Christ isn’t theoretical. It’s not just a metaphor we quote—it’s a real, functioning body. And when Scripture says every part supplies something, it means exactly that.

There are things God wants to release through your life that won’t come through anyone else.

Not because you’re the source—but because you’re part of how He chose to move.

There are no spectators here

One of the tensions in church culture is that it’s easy to sit back and watch. To assume that what happens on the platform is where the real ministry lives.

But that’s not how the Kingdom works.

“You don’t get to be a bystander in the body of Christ.”

That line cuts through it pretty clearly.

The authority of God—what Pastor Bob keeps referring to as the anointing—is not reserved for a few people. It’s not tied to a title. It’s not something you graduate into after years of experience.

It’s given.

And then it flows.

From God, into His people, and through His people.

The question isn’t whether it’s available.
The question is whether we actually let it move.

The centurion who understood it

Pastor Bob points to Luke 7, to a Roman centurion. Not a church leader. Not someone you’d expect to be an example of faith.

But this man understood something a lot of people still miss.

He sends word to Jesus and says:

“Just say the word, and my servant will be healed.”

There’s no hesitation in that statement. No need for Jesus to show up physically. No need for extra confirmation.

Just say the word.

And then he explains why he thinks that way:

He says, “I’m a man under authority… and I have authority.”

That’s the key.

He didn’t see authority as something you assert. He saw it as something that comes from being aligned—submitted—to a higher authority.

That’s why Jesus responds the way He does:

“I have not found such great faith…”

Because this man understood the system of the Kingdom.
Submission. Authority. Trust.

They all go together.

This isn’t just about him

It would be easy to leave that story in the Bible and admire it from a distance.

But Pastor Bob brings it uncomfortably close:

“That same anointing is on you.”

That’s where people tend to hesitate.

Because it’s one thing to believe God can move.
It’s another thing to believe He wants to move through you.

And usually, what gets in the way isn’t theology—it’s hesitation.

We wait to feel ready.
We wait to feel confident.
We wait to feel something.

But that’s not how this works.

“You don’t have to feel it… you just need to believe.”

At some point, you have to move

There’s a moment in the message where everything simplifies down to one idea:

“God’s like—it’s your move.”

Not in a harsh way. Not in a pressure-filled way.

Just a reality.

God has already given what’s needed.
The authority is there.
The Spirit is present.

So now what?

At some point, it stops being about understanding and starts being about stepping.

Not perfectly.
Not confidently.
Just willingly.

Don’t settle into comfortable Christianity

There’s a weight to Pastor Bob’s words that comes from someone who knows life isn’t guaranteed.

And because of that, he doesn’t leave space for passive faith.

Why hold back?
Why stay quiet?
Why settle into routine?

“God is not okay with your status quo… and He fully loves you.”

That tension matters.

God’s love doesn’t lower the call—it strengthens it.

What this means for us

If this message is true—and it is—then it changes how we see everything.

Church isn’t a place we attend.
It’s a body we actively belong to.

Authority isn’t something we chase.
It’s something we walk in as we stay aligned with Him.

And faith isn’t just belief.
It’s movement.

The kind that looks like praying when it feels small.
Speaking when it feels uncomfortable.
Stepping out when there’s no guarantee.

Because at the end of the day, we’re not waiting on God to move.

He already has.

Now it’s our turn.

Study Guide

Summary

Pastor Bob Wilk shares a powerful testimony of God’s goodness and uses the story of the centurion (Luke 7) to teach that true authority comes from submission to God and flows through every believer as His anointing. Every member of the Church is essential, and each person is called to actively release God’s power into the world through faith and obedience.

Icebreaker Questions

  1. Have you ever had a moment where you realized how much people truly cared about you?
  2. What comes to mind when you hear the word “authority”?
  3. Have you ever stepped out in faith and seen God move?

Discussion Questions

  1. Why do you think it’s easy to believe the lie that “I’m not needed”?
  2. What does it mean that “every joint supplies” in the body of Christ?
  3. How does the centurion’s understanding of authority challenge your own?
  4. Why is submission to God essential for walking in His authority?
  5. What are some ways we “shut down” the anointing in our lives?
  6. What is one area where you feel God is saying, “It’s your move”?
  7. How can we grow in boldness to step out and release God’s power to others?

Closing Prayer

Father,
Thank You for loving us and calling us into Your family. Thank You that we are not overlooked, but essential in Your Kingdom. Help us to see ourselves the way You see us—anointed, equipped, and sent.

Teach us to walk in true authority by staying submitted to You. Give us boldness to step out in faith, to speak life, to bring hope, and to carry Your presence wherever we go.

Holy Spirit, stir us up. Remove fear, doubt, and insecurity, and fill us with confidence in who You are in us.

We say yes to Your call.
In Jesus’ name, amen.
