Apostle Celene taught that Jesus is the Good Shepherd who protects, restores, leads, heals, and gathers His people. Through Pentecost, the Holy Spirit empowers believers to live the Kingdom way, not simply waiting to go to heaven, but bringing heaven to earth. Using John 10 and Psalm 23, the message reminds us that Jesus lays down His life for the sheep, walks with us through valleys, restores our souls, anoints us with care, and calls us to keep moving forward. Because we belong to the Shepherd, we are not alone, and we are empowered to destroy the works of the enemy in our lives.

I’m so glad to see all of you. Hopefully you will be glad to have seen me by the end of this message. I’m a little messed up. I don’t know what I’m thinking when I’m feeling. I’m all over the map. Of course, you know, they assigned me today to preach and I thought, oh yeah, that’s great.

00:00:15:00 – 00:00:37:28

That’s awesome. I love it, especially because I won’t be here for the next three Sundays, because we’ll be in Croatia and Greece. And so we need your prayers. We thank you for how you guys cover us when we go. We’ve got pastor Pat and pastor Bob and Rob Sloan and Cindy over in Sacramento today at the Ukrainian church.

00:00:38:00 – 00:01:03:19

That was a blessing. We were asked to be there this weekend. Josh and I came home last night. We were a prophetic team for them that for missionaries that were there from all over the world, and the message of the gospel was strong. And these people, these people, they’re amazing. And, you know, so here it is, Pentecost. And I said, okay, the comforter came.

00:01:03:20 – 00:01:42:08

So Celine, tone it down. Tone it down. But, you know, I just read acts two as I was standing there and, you know, I don’t think Holy Spirit came real subtle. In fact, I think he took him by surprise. Says they were sitting there. You’re sitting there and all of a sudden they heard. They heard a sound like a rushing, mighty wind.

00:01:42:11 – 00:02:10:25
Unknown
You ever been in a major windstorm? Yeah. Every time the trees start to sing around here in the middle of the winter, I think about Pentecost. I think about what that sounded like. And then Holy Spirit fire fell on them and they began to speak in tongues. They began to speak the language of heaven. And then they were able to speak the language of peoples, of nations.

00:02:10:25 – 00:02:33:03
Unknown
And it went from just God’s people, the Jewish people. It went to every nation. It was represented there in that room. And the Holy Spirit came. So I don’t think it was necessary a calm. So I’m just trying to warn you because I’m not sure where I’m going. But what I know is what I feel inside, and it’s a stirring.

00:02:33:04 – 00:02:58:29
Unknown
And so I hope you’ll just bear with me if I’m a little. Some people say I’m a lot. I’m a lot sometimes. If I’m a lot today for you, just pray for me, okay? But it’s also Memorial Day weekend. And, you know, my dad was a Navy man. We owe our life to our military that protect us and are there for us that have gone into the front lines.

00:02:58:29 – 00:03:22:10
Unknown
And today is about honoring those that gave the ultimate price and died for my freedom. They died for my freedom in this country, my freedom to stand on this platform and be able to share my freedom to be able to live my life with my family in peace. So we owe a lot to our military, and we own a lot to those that volunteer to put their lives on the line.

00:03:22:10 – 00:03:34:07
Unknown
And of course, what’s who’s the ultimate soldier who put his life on the line? Who said, no one takes my life, I lay it down.

00:03:34:10 – 00:03:56:09
Unknown
So I’m thankful for Jesus because not only did he lay his life down, he brought it back up after he went into hell. And he had a little challenge with the the keeper of the of hell. And he came out with his keys and he came out and he came back to earth to show us. And he came back to earth.

00:03:56:09 – 00:04:25:19

He went back to the disciples. It’s funny that they didn’t write a whole lot more about those days that they had with him. 40 days they had what Jesus resurrected Jesus resurrected man. And so today is Memorial Day. Today also is a Hallmark day for our church. It was 57 years ago to Memorial Day weekend that we held our first service.

My mom is the founding pastor of this house and she was raised Roman Catholic, got saved at 36 years old, became so frustrated that she had spent life knowing about the fear of God but not understanding the love of God. And so she just began to dive in and was surrounded by people who taught her about the love of God and about the Bible.

00:04:49:23 – 00:05:10:16
Unknown
And she began to get involved and study. And then she went to, you know, Bible believing church. And then she moved in to church that, you know, Baptist church and got baptized and understood water baptism. And then she got filled the Holy Ghost and got kicked out of the Baptist church and went into spirit filled church. And and she was there and she was a Bible school teacher.

Carol was a Brown was one of her students back then in Calvary Gospel Temple in Sunnyvale, California, and she was ordained there. She wanted to go on the mission field. Her heart burned for people to know God. And that was in 1968. She was or 66, excuse me, that she was ordained. But in 1968, God called her and he called her out of a congregation, and he asked her to to he spoke a word over and told her to start a church.

00:05:41:27 – 00:06:06:13
Unknown
Just we’re going to make really long story short. And when she got that word, she didn’t know what to think because she didn’t believe in women pastors. And she she struggled with it and she wrestled with it, and she talked to God about it a lot. And and my mom’s health was never super great. And she ended up having a serious diverticulitis.

00:06:06:13 – 00:06:31:03
Unknown
So they had to take her into surgery. And in surgery they lost her twice on the operating table and they, you know, took Catherine tests, just all that good stuff. And but she was very weakened from it. And she was in the hospital for six weeks. That’s a long time. That’s a long time. I was ten years old, and she was.

00:06:31:05 – 00:07:10:14
Unknown
In that time. She and God had some chats. And let’s just say God won the argument. Six weeks later, after my mom left the hospital was Memorial Day weekend, and she had her first Sunday service and accepted the the role of pastor of a church. So today is a little nostalgic for me for that reason. And I’m like, God, you know, all these things are happening all in the same day and I don’t know which way to go, but it is my honor to stand here, you know, when we’re gone.

00:07:10:14 – 00:07:30:19
Unknown
God’s been sending us more, and I love it. And I hate it because I love here, and I love you, and I love the presence of God here. And I love the presence of God, though, and the churches that he sent us to, you know. But I hate it because I miss you and I don’t like to be away.

00:07:30:19 – 00:07:52:09
Unknown
So you do have to pray for me. I actually struggle with that sometimes. So when I was asked to speak on the Sunday before we left. I thought, yes, that’s perfect. I’ll speak and then I can leave for a few weeks. They can calm down and then I’ll come back, right? No. So. But it’s actually an honor to stand and represent God.

00:07:52:11 – 00:08:34:07
Unknown
It’s an honor. And I don’t ever take it for granted. Today, I’m going to continue on the series that we’ve been talking about, the Kingdom Way. This series is so imperative for every believer to understand. There’s two worlds. There’s the kingdom of darkness and the Kingdom of light. And when we receive Jesus as our Savior, when we accept his sacrifice that he made on the cross, and we confess it with our mouths and we believe it in our hearts, we are transferred from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of light.

00:08:34:07 – 00:09:04:25
Unknown
But these are kingdoms. The kingdom of darkness has its rules, and the kingdom of light has its rules and ways and rules is not the word I want. They have their ways, the world’s ways. I don’t know about you, but every day I shake my head. I think that they have lost their minds. I started thinking about all those ways this morning, and I thought I’d better not start even trying to say what goes through my mind.

00:09:04:26 – 00:09:26:09

I foretold of times like we live in today. He put it this way in Isaiah five, and there’s a whole list of things. You can read the whole chapter yourself. It says, what sorrow for those who say that evil is good, and good is evil. That dark is light and light is dark. That bitter is sweet and sweet is bitter.

00:09:26:10 – 00:09:58:26
Unknown
What sorrow for those who are wise in their own eyes and think themselves so clever. What sorrow for those who are heroes at drinking wine, and boast about all the hall they can hold. And so on and so on and so on. The world we live in is backwards. It’s backwards. It’s upside down. God’s heart broke to see how mankind, his most intricate creation, God made man in his own likeness and image.

00:09:58:28 – 00:10:07:10
Unknown
It was the crowning creation of everything.

00:10:07:12 – 00:10:34:07

He didn’t want people to settle for craziness. His response to all of this chaos and confusion and mess that man made in the earth was sending his son, sending Jesus to the earth.

00:10:34:09 – 00:10:56:24
Unknown
But the twist in that idea came when he sent Jesus as a man, as a human, as a baby. It’s not exactly the way I would think it should be done.

00:10:56:26 – 00:11:27:05
Unknown
I do find that God does think to do things very differently than I do, so that scripture, my ways are not your ways I know well. But Jesus came and he was just like you and me, and he faced every challenge, and he faced them to show us how we can do it to here on earth as men and women.

00:11:27:07 – 00:11:57:13
Unknown
Jesus showed us that God’s way is different than our plans. He came out of love to become the solution for the problem once and for all mankind. This teaching series is based on Jesus’s teachings. He chose to use parables. Those are just simply stories or examples that involved everyday life, subjects that people would understand in that day. Jesus teachings were so radical.

00:11:57:14 – 00:12:32:21
Unknown
They were so different than what they had known. And up till this time, those who chose to follow God’s way depended on their own ability to do it, to follow all the laws in their own strength. Jesus came to earth as a baby straight from heaven, and he matured to be the first earthly son. The Bible says, the firstborn of many brethren, brethren or brothers, sisters, family.

00:12:32:23 – 00:12:40:24
Unknown
He was the first which indicates more to come.

00:12:40:27 – 00:13:02:11
Unknown
The gospel. It’s the good news, not the crazy news. The good news. Okay. So whenever we hear the word gospel, we immediately say good news. Jesus became the gospel.

00:13:02:13 – 00:13:44:05
Unknown
His plan of redemption was for you and I. He paid the ransom. Ransom is the price for something. Something that is captive. You pray the ransom for so that you can have it. Jesus paid the ransom for us by the price of his blood. It was his life rather than ours. His sacrifice on the cross. Along with believing it in our heart, he took our dead spirit, that part of us that could commune with God, our spirit that died in the garden when Adam sin, and he baptized it in Holy Ghost in fire.

00:13:44:05 – 00:14:08:23
Unknown
And he gave us the ability with a new spirit. Ezekiel prophesied it in an Ezekiel 36 and verse 27, that God would give us a new heart, a new spirit. He fulfilled that prophecy so that we he could write his laws on our heart, and so we could have everything that God gave us. And he was giving us the ability to live according to his plan and purpose.

00:14:08:25 – 00:14:45:06
Unknown
John 112 says, but as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name. This truly is good news, because Jesus came to give us what and what else, As many as received him. To them he gave power, ability. We can do this. Okay. This is good news.

00:14:45:06 – 00:15:07:06
Unknown
Simple truth. It’s not based on my strength or my ability. It’s based on the power that came from heaven that I accepted and received when I accepted Holy Spirit into my life. And I said, Holy Spirit, I receive you to I received Jesus in my heart. But Holy Spirit, I receive you too. And the Holy Spirit was always with man.

00:15:07:06 – 00:15:30:21
Unknown
But now he came, and in he abides inside of us. When we ask for him to come. It’s very important. God is always wants us to ask for him. Lord, come be my Savior. Lord, come, Holy Spirit, come. So if you’re having struggles, say, Holy Spirit, come, come into my life. Ask for him. He’s going to wait for you to ask because he wants you to want it.

00:15:30:21 – 00:15:51:18
Unknown
Okay? It’s not a crazy thing. It’s not a power thing. It’s not a control freak thing. It’s not whatever else anybody has to say about it. It’s simply some manners. He’s saying, if you want something, please ask for it and I will do it for you. It’s simple. Simple, simple. Okay.

00:15:51:20 – 00:16:20:26

Kingdom life is lived in the spirit, not just in words, but with power. We need Holy Spirit to live the kingdom life. It is a life marked by worship, prayer, obedience and faith. Today we are going to see where Jesus reveals himself as the faithful shepherd who protects and heals, and the Lord, whose authority brings transformation and deliverance.

00:16:20:26 – 00:16:32:17
Unknown
At the heart of the kingdom is forgiveness for unforgiveness shuts the door to the kingdom’s culture.

00:16:32:20 – 00:17:00:23
Unknown
This life is one of humility in worship, where God lifts the lowly and of faith that persists in prayer, refusing to give up. It is bold enough to ask, seek, and knock, trusting that God responds, this is the Kingdom way. This is what we’ve been talking about over the last several weeks. This is what God put in our pastor’s hearts for us to go over and rehearse.

00:17:00:23 – 00:17:23:23
Unknown
In our minds. It is the Kingdom way, spirit filled, persevering, and marked by healing, forgiveness, and power. The gospel, in its simplest form, teaches that we will go to heaven when we die, when we receive Jesus and embrace his sacrifice for us. And that is marvelous. That is beautiful. I don’t have to worry about what’s going to happen to me when I die.

00:17:23:24 – 00:17:44:08
Unknown
You know, some people don’t know. That’s why they’re so scared. I’m sure that’s why when Covid came, everybody started freaking out because they weren’t sure where they were going. But you know what? You and I know where we’re going. We’re going to go be with Jesus. So that’s a great thing, right? Okay. But guess what? This is my favorite part.

00:17:44:11 – 00:18:17:08
Unknown
The gospel of the Kingdom. The good news of the kingdom is not about going there. The gospel of the Kingdom is bringing heaven to earth here. We are so busy trying to get there or worried about getting there when in return, what God has given us, enables us, gives us the ability to bring heaven to earth, to bring heaven to earth.

00:18:17:08 – 00:18:40:09
Unknown
That is the Kingdom way. Jesus came from heaven to earth. We are here on earth. We are here for a purpose. Quit worrying about when you get to heaven. You’ll get there when you get there. Okay? God’s got a day for it. He knows what it is. Don’t worry about it. You’ll get there right now. Worry about what you’re supposed to do here on Earth.

00:18:40:09 – 00:19:03:17
Unknown
But you know what? First, John three eight says this was Jesus’s mission. He came to destroy the works of the devil. Now that’s what I’m talking about, okay? Y’all know me, and I hate the devil because I’ve watched him ruin people’s lives. I’ve watched him kill people. I’ve watched him take people’s lives too early. I’ve watched him riddled their bodies with pain.

00:19:03:17 – 00:19:32:16
Unknown
I’ve watched them take, kill, rob and destroy from people. That is not from God. That is from the devil. When that’s happening to you, that’s from the enemy. You just declare the kingdom of God is here. It’s come, it’s in you, it’s in you. Jesus came to destroy sin and death. Our job is to, if we want to be like Jesus, is to destroy sin, starting with your own life.

00:19:32:18 – 00:20:00:08
Unknown
This is where we start. Then we can worry about the world. Sin. Jesus did that. Okay, so I have control over me. So today we’re going to look at John ten. This is a parable about Jesus being the good Shepherd. And we’re just going to read it quickly. He says, I tell you the truth, anyone who sneaks over the wall of a sheepfold rather than going through the gate must surely be a thief and a robber.

00:20:00:08 – 00:20:20:07
Unknown
But the one who enters through the gate is the shepherd of the sheep. The gatekeeper opens the gate for him, and the sheep recognize his voice and come to him. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. After he gathered his own flock, he walks ahead of them and they follow him because they know his voice.

00:20:20:07 – 00:20:43:17
Unknown
They won’t follow a stranger. They will run from him because they don’t know his voice. And those who heard Jesus used this illustration didn’t understand what he meant, so he explained it to it. I tell you the truth, I am the gate for the sheep. All who came before me were thieves and robbers, but the true sheep did not listen to them.

00:20:43:17 – 00:21:11:06
Unknown
Yes, I am the gate. He is the only way. Those who come in through me will be saved. They will come and go freely and will find good pastures. The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. The good Shepherd sacrifices his life for the sheep. A hired hand will run. When he sees a wolf coming. He will abandon the sheep because they don’t belong to him and he isn’t their shepherd.

00:21:11:06 – 00:21:30:16
Unknown
And so the wolf attacks them and scatters the flock. The hired hand runs away because he is working only for money and doesn’t really care about the sheep. I am the good shepherd. I know my own sheep and they know me just as my father knows me and I know the father. So I will sacrifice my life for the sheep.

00:21:30:16 – 00:21:54:13
Unknown
I have other sheep too, that are not in this fold, but I must bring them in also. They will listen to my voice, and there will be one flock with one shepherd. The father loves me because I sacrifice my life. I may take it back again. No one can take my life from me. I sacrifice and voluntarily, for I have the authority to lay it down when I want to.

00:21:54:13 – 00:22:02:00
Unknown
And I also take it up again, for this is what my father has commanded.

00:22:02:03 – 00:22:06:01
Unknown
The mouthful.

00:22:06:04 – 00:22:30:20
Unknown
And I was thinking, okay, Holy Spirit’s comforter of shepherds. They’re kind of, you know, calm people. Why am I like this? Right? Well, let’s find out about the calm shepherds. Jesus is the great shepherd. The gate, the door. The only way in. There is only one way. Some people get tripped up by that. I say, what’s the problem?

00:22:30:20 – 00:22:59:02
Unknown
You can’t get lost. There’s only one way. I don’t understand the problem, okay? He doesn’t. We don’t have to figure it out. It’s a one way deal, okay? It’s a good thing. So I 4011 prophecy for tells foretells Jesus as the good Shepherd centuries before his arrival. There’s some things that have been said to some of you. A few years back.

00:22:59:05 – 00:23:33:00
Unknown
Jesus showed up centuries later. Hopefully yours won’t be centuries. Yours? Me, maybe years. But hang on. Matthew 936 Jesus. He had compassion on the people. He saw that they fainted, collapsed, and how they had been scattered and left to themselves. They had no shepherd taking care of them. They had become vulnerable to be prey to the enemy, because they were scattered and not together, and not with the shepherd.

00:23:33:02 – 00:23:58:23
Unknown
Jesus came to solve that problem. We also find in this passage of Jesus’s teaching about true shepherds versus false shepherds. There can be false shepherds. There can be people who are just doing it as a job, as opposed to as a calling and a commitment as of something that’s within them. But the truth is that Jesus was the true Shepherd.

00:23:58:23 – 00:24:40:00
Unknown
He was here because he was sent here. He had a mission. He had a purpose. And he knew that these people were his. These sheep were his. So he came for us. And one thing you know, when John was talking about the hired hand and it said that they ran away, right? They ran away, or excuse me, that when the the shepherd would run away and leave the sheep so the wolves could come in, that meant that there was no rod there, no one there using the rod to beat back the enemy, to beat him back.

00:24:40:03 – 00:25:02:26
Unknown
The wolves would come and they’d use the rod to push them out so they couldn’t bite them. They were able to get rid of the wolves. That way a shepherd will watch over you, so you can not have wolves take you out or take you down. Okay. He has that. We’re going to talk about that in just a second also.

00:25:02:29 – 00:25:25:28
Unknown
Ezekiel 34 verses one through ten gives a warning to the false shepherds. And verses 25 to 31 he brings God’s covenant at peace. You can look this up at home if you want. But these Jesus talked about them, his heart. And for the sheep without a shepherd, because he never wanted them to be alone. They need each other and they need a shepherd.

00:25:25:28 – 00:25:51:04
Unknown
We find in the Old Testament the examples that the sheep were scattered because of war from enemies, that God’s people were scattered, and they were put out because of different wars and battles. In. In Jeremiah 23 verse one, it says, woe to the pastors that destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture.

00:25:51:07 – 00:26:00:04
Unknown
There were many other people that are called to be shepherds also.

00:26:00:06 – 00:26:27:03
Unknown
This doesn’t work when you have your paper on two sides. You don’t know which side you’re on anyway, bless the Lord. There’s other scriptures there’s about, but one scripture stood out to me when I just typed in the word shepherd. You know, when you’re doing your study part. And I was surprised. The first scripture that popped up was Genesis 4634, when in the end of it was, Joseph made this enlightening statement.

00:26:27:06 – 00:26:36:02
Unknown
He says, for all shepherds are detestable to the Egyptians.

00:26:36:04 – 00:26:48:15
Unknown
I don’t think I’d ever noticed something for for those who may not know, Egypt in the in the Old Testament represents the world system.

00:26:48:17 – 00:27:18:11
Unknown
Was Jesus detestable to the wise? The Egyptians were also very smart. They built amazing things, right? So keep that in mind in the conversation of Jesus being the great Shepherd. But there was Moses and David in the numbers 27, verse 17. It says, give them. This is where Josh and God told Joshua, give them someone who will guide them wherever they go and will lead them into battle.

00:27:18:11 – 00:27:39:17
Unknown
So the community of the Lord will not be like sheep without a shepherd. So God did give pastors and put in shepherds so that they can help guide people and stuff. That’s the use of the word there too. And in verse Peter five one through four it says, as a fellow elder, this is my appeal to you. Care for the flock of God entrusted to you.

00:27:39:17 – 00:28:02:28
Unknown
This is a charge to people who’ve taketh a pastor it care for the flock of God entrusted to you. Watch over it willingly, not grudgingly, not for what you will get out of it, but because you are eager to serve God. Don’t lord it over the people assigned to your care, but lead them by your example. And when the head shepherd comes, your reward will be never ending.

00:28:02:28 – 00:28:33:13
Unknown
Share in his glory and honor. Pastors must serve out of willingness and out of calling, and they must understand the responsibility to protect and care and shield for. But Jesus is the great Shepherd, the shepherd of all shepherds. He demonstrated this in his life here, and he did lay down his life for the sheep. In this teaching, Jesus uses the example of a common career.

00:28:33:13 – 00:29:00:12
Unknown
In that day, shepherds were common in Israel’s life. He described it a relationship with him and what it looks like. He also laid out his purpose for coming to Earth, along with the fact that not all who come into our lives have the same purpose. Other people are looking to have purpose in our lives. But what does the Shepherd want?

00:29:00:17 – 00:29:25:02
Unknown
God’s purpose was to give us an abundant life, but others wish to enslave us. The enemy comes to rob, kill, and destroy. He paints a picture of how God’s love and his sacrificial nature, his protective nature, his loving care, and his warrior heart to not allow anything or anyone to destroy us. That’s what our Jesus did. That’s why he did it.

00:29:25:03 – 00:30:02:03
Unknown
He saw his sheep scattered and he came to earth to gather them together again. David is famous for his song about shepherds. That song was a prophetic song. It gives us understanding to the role that Jesus plays in our lives. He is the true shepherd. Most of us can probably say this by heart. So if you can join me, I did the King James Version for us old people.

00:30:02:05 – 00:30:33:17

It’s the most poetic. So the Lord is my shepherd. I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures. He leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul. He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for thou art with me.

00:30:33:20 – 00:31:06:27
Unknown
Thy rod and they staff, they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies. Thou anointest my head with oil, and my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life. And I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever, for ever. That’s quite a promise.

00:31:07:00 – 00:31:34:10
Unknown
So let’s take a quick look at this psalm. The Lord is my shepherd. When we receive Jesus, we receive him as a shepherd in our lives. We can be assured that there is always. He is always watching over us, and he will never leave us, and he will always care for us. He’s not a hireling. He will never run.

00:31:34:12 – 00:31:48:21
Unknown
He will never run from an enemy. He will protect us. He’ll take that rod and he’ll smack them. I need a rod. Not for you.

00:31:48:24 – 00:32:27:07
Unknown
Yeah, I shall not want. I shall not lack. I shall not fail. I shall not lessen. Decrease. Because the Lord is my shepherd. He maketh me. Now I love this word maketh me. He maketh me to lie down. I don’t know about you, but I kind of move a lot. When I lie down, I just crash and die.

00:32:27:09 – 00:32:36:25
Unknown
But sometimes God makes us slow down.

00:32:36:27 – 00:32:44:27
Unknown
So I called those maketh me moments. He maketh me moments.

00:32:44:29 – 00:32:53:25
Unknown
Sometimes we don’t have no other choice but to stop. My mom had to make. He maketh me moment in the hospital.

00:32:53:28 – 00:33:00:08
Unknown
She had to stop. And she got to listen to God.

00:33:00:11 – 00:33:28:16
Unknown
But he makes us lie down in green pastures, good pastures. It’s in that place where we will be fed fresh food. It’s in that place that it’s calm. It’s in that place where God has us. And we stop for a minute and just rest.

00:33:28:18 – 00:33:40:21
Unknown
It goes on and says, he leadeth me beside still waters and empowers of righteousness. He doesn’t take his water rafting. Okay.

00:33:40:24 – 00:33:49:24
Unknown
He doesn’t take you through a bunch of turmoil. He takes you by still waters.

00:33:49:26 – 00:33:58:04
Unknown
Paths of righteousness. He restoreth my soul.

00:33:58:07 – 00:34:03:24
Unknown
What is one of the biggest problems in our world today?

00:34:03:27 – 00:34:12:28
Unknown
Lack of peace. What else? Anxiety. Anything else? Depression.

00:34:13:00 – 00:34:16:26
Unknown
Hatred. Yeah. Okay.

00:34:16:29 – 00:34:21:02
Unknown
Where does all that live?

00:34:21:05 – 00:34:35:21
Unknown
And our emotions. And our souls. Jesus came to restore our souls.

00:34:35:23 – 00:35:21:14
Unknown
Our minds, our will, our intellect. That’s what our soul embraces. He came to retreat, to recover, refresh, relieve, rescue. Reverse. He can reverse the damage. He can reverse the damage. It is not something you have to live with your entire life. He can reverse your damage. He can reverse the memories. He can reverse everything traumatic that has happened to you.

00:35:21:14 – 00:35:44:07
Unknown
Because he’s your shepherd and he came to restore you. And sometimes it’s a bit of a process. That’s okay. But he came to restore you. So instead of focusing on the trauma. Focus on the restoration. Say, God, what can we do today to be restored? How am I going to be restored? It might be by talking to someone.

00:35:44:07 – 00:35:57:14
Unknown
That’s fine. I’m not coming against any of that. What I’m saying is the purpose is for restoration, not to stay there.

00:35:57:16 – 00:36:36:21
Unknown
He walks with us through valleys. How many have walked through a valley? A valley? It’s a low place. It’s a dark place. It can be a challenging place. And sometimes we even encounter a shadow in the valley from the walls above us. And sometimes that shadow can be like death. And it’s as Jesus came to walk with us through the valley of the shadow of death.

00:36:36:23 – 00:36:59:04
Unknown
He doesn’t leave us. We don’t have to be scared. We have to just say, Jesus, you’re here. You’re here. I know you’re here. Hold my hand. I’m here. Walk with me. But the other key word in this is walk.

00:36:59:06 – 00:37:02:06
Unknown
Walk.

00:37:02:08 – 00:37:47:21
Unknown
Don’t sit. Don’t pitch a tent. Don’t hide and hover in a corner. Walk, walk, walk with him. If you walk alone, it’ll be scary. But if you walk with him. And better yet, maybe he’s got a whole bunch of sheep with them. It’s not so scary because he walks you through. Okay. We are not alone. And because of that, we do not have to fear any evil.

00:37:47:24 – 00:37:53:18
Unknown
He is with us.

00:37:53:20 – 00:38:26:21
Unknown
His rod and staff. I already mentioned what the rod is for. Its to beat the enemy. To push it away. To tell it to go to a point where to go. But there’s also the staff. The staff is the part with the crook in it. And the staff comes. Say the lamb is caught over here. He can just grab it by the neck and pull it to himself.

00:38:26:24 – 00:38:35:22
Unknown
The staff comforts a sheep because as soon as they know they’re coming to the shepherd.

00:38:35:25 – 00:38:39:19
Unknown
They’re coming to the shepherd.

00:38:39:21 – 00:38:44:24
Unknown
And he prepares a table.

00:38:44:27 – 00:38:48:01
Unknown
Where?

00:38:48:04 – 00:38:52:12
Unknown
He whisks us away.

00:38:52:15 – 00:38:56:08
Unknown
Beams us up.

00:38:56:11 – 00:39:24:23
Unknown
He prepares a table for me in the midst of my enemies. Jesus is not intimidated. He’s just not intimidated. He’s going to feed you. He’s going to give you a seat, and he’s going to say, it’s okay. Let’s have a meal together. He’s going to do it right in front of your enemies.

00:39:24:26 – 00:39:58:25
Unknown
He’s going to set you up. Prepare me and set up. Set in a row. Setting the table. Setting the table for us. Putting it into order. And not only that, this Psalm talks about the good Shepherd anointing the head of the sheep to pour oil on us until it overflows, till the cup is running over. It’s not sparingly.

00:39:58:25 – 00:40:25:06
Unknown
It’s until he keeps pouring, until it overflows. And you know, I did just a little bit of a steady or I read this several years ago, a little bit about the oil that shepherds used. And it’s usually a mix of olive oil, sulfur and spices. And it’s put on sheep primarily to protect them from insects, parasites and injuries.

00:40:25:08 – 00:40:52:11
Unknown
It’s often referred to as an anointing, and it is a vital part of a shepherd’s job. So when God’s anointing us, he’s putting a pest repellent on us, he’s giving us wound care and healing. He’s taking care of us. And, you know, they even put it on the male sheep’s, the rams. They put it on their head. You know why?

00:40:52:13 – 00:41:02:07
Unknown
Because when rams fight, they had bud each other. Little testosterone poisoning.

00:41:02:09 – 00:41:30:12
Unknown
Yeah. That’s why you’re called sheep. This makes their heads slippery so that the force of the impact is redirected. So God even helps us out when we’re having a fit okay. With each other. Okay. Two rams or two sheep. I guess God knew that sometimes we would just have some head ons, right? So don’t be surprised when you have a head on collision.

00:41:30:15 – 00:42:09:23
Unknown
It’s okay. But your shepherd anointed you before this collision, and you don’t have to lose your horns. You don’t have to kill each other. Okay? You can. You can survive and not have cranial trauma, is what this definition says is great. And he also does it to they also did to prevent self-harm because sometimes the sheep would be tormented by nose or ear flies, and then they frantically start banging their heads against the rocks and they rub up against stick brush, which can cause serious self-injury.

00:42:09:23 – 00:42:42:10
Unknown
So the oil creates a protective barrier that stops the pests from landing and allow the sheep to graze peacefully. So he fixes it by taking care of the. The cause was the flies. This was the reaction. Right. But he takes care of the cause when he anoints us. And then it says it ends with. Surely goodness and mercy will follow us all the days of our lives when something is following us.

00:42:42:10 – 00:42:46:00
Unknown
Where is it?

00:42:46:03 – 00:43:21:16
Unknown
Behind us? Surely goodness and mercy will follow us all the days of our lives. Beauty, grace. Kindness. Undeserved favor. Prosperity. Follow us all the days of our lives. But as I was thinking about this, unfortunately I had a really crazy image in my head, you know, and I was seeing the sheep walking forward once again. They’re walking. Surely goodness follows.

00:43:21:16 – 00:43:55:25
Unknown
That means they’re moving as they’re walking. Their head is in the front and pointing forward. Right. What’s behind them? What’s behind them? Their tail. We’re going to keep it nice, I promise. Or at least I hope so. I think we have a life lesson here. Okay, so if the tail is on the back side.

00:43:55:27 – 00:44:20:17
Unknown
We also know that this is also the place in which they eliminate the things that they eat, that they digested. And this happens for all of us. Right.

00:44:20:19 – 00:44:25:19
Unknown
It’s a good reason to keep going forward.

00:44:25:21 – 00:44:41:22
Unknown
It’s a good reason to keep going forward. Okay. It’s pretty rare when you find an animal going backwards after they’ve done their business.

00:44:41:25 – 00:44:45:26
Unknown
Life lesson.

00:44:45:28 – 00:45:23:24
Unknown
Leave it behind. You don’t walk in it. Don’t sit in it. Don’t play in it. Leave it and go forward. Okay. Goodness and mercy will come behind. But you don’t need to go backwards, okay? It’s all a part of life. It happens. Leave it behind you. Okay, we got it. All right. So.

00:45:23:27 – 00:45:47:24
Unknown
But through all of this, the promise given by the psalmist who prophetically sang about Jesus was that because of the good Shepherd, we will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. Forever.

00:45:47:26 – 00:45:57:19
Unknown
We will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

00:45:57:21 – 00:46:09:09
Unknown
That’s pretty amazing. Holy spirit comes and lives in this house.

00:46:09:11 – 00:46:15:16
Unknown
We are gathered today in an earthly house.

00:46:15:18 – 00:46:48:24
Unknown
And then there’s the palace, the kingdom of God, the house of God that lives forever. So when we receive Jesus and we live in this kingdom way, we have great things in our lives. I’m going to ask John Healey to come for a minute. We’re going to get ready to take communion. If you didn’t get a little communion cup, if you raise your hand, someone will give you one.

00:46:48:27 – 00:46:57:14
Unknown
Ushers. That means you. You’re someone. Sorry.

00:46:57:17 – 00:47:36:02
Unknown
We have so much to be thankful for. For the Kingdom. Way to know that it’s different than the world’s way. It is completely different. And I’ve asked John to come because he’s my hero. God gifted John as a psalmist. He’s not just a songwriter, he’s a psalmist. And he has prophetically written song after song, but he’s also taken Scripture and put it to music.

00:47:36:05 – 00:47:41:22
Unknown
And so I asked him to come and to sing.

00:47:41:24 – 00:47:50:18
Unknown
About the shepherd. But while he does, I have a few things for you to think about.

00:47:50:20 – 00:48:06:17
Unknown
Psalms 23 was David’s declaration of who God was in his life. These were things that he experienced about God.

00:48:06:20 – 00:48:13:05
Unknown
My question is, what is your declaration today?

00:48:13:07 – 00:48:18:28
Unknown
What was it when you walked in the door?

00:48:19:00 – 00:48:23:19
Unknown
Did it include any of these things?

00:48:23:21 – 00:48:50:18
Unknown
If they didn’t, I’m going to challenge you to begin to declare these things over your life. This wasn’t written just as a song to be pretty. It was a story, a life story. It can be your story.

00:48:50:21 – 00:48:54:00
Unknown
It’s a story.

00:48:54:03 – 00:48:58:16
Unknown
That says there’s a shepherd.

00:48:58:18 – 00:49:07:02
Unknown
Someone watching over me. See God, the personal God.

00:49:07:05 – 00:49:10:24
Unknown
He’s a personal God.

00:49:10:26 – 00:49:31:24
Unknown
He speaks to people personally. He speaks to your heart and to your spirit. Sometimes he brings others to you to speak for him, but he always speaks to you. He speaks through his word.

00:49:31:27 – 00:50:02:15
Unknown
So if you want the Shepherd to watch over you and care for you and protect you and walk with you, begin to declare, he is the great Shepherd of your life. If you’re struggling, being alone or the enemy has scattered you often to far places. Far places can be actual land.

00:50:02:17 – 00:50:22:19
Unknown
But they can be in your heart. You could be standing right next to someone and be far from them in your mind, in your heart.

00:50:22:21 – 00:50:30:08
Unknown
There’s a solution.

00:50:30:10 – 00:50:36:29
Unknown
There’s a shepherd that we hear about.

00:50:37:02 – 00:50:42:10
Unknown
That leaves the 99.

00:50:42:13 – 00:50:47:20
Unknown
And he goes after the one.

00:50:47:22 – 00:50:56:29
Unknown
Why was he not worried about the 99?

00:50:57:01 – 00:51:04:19
Unknown
Why?

00:51:04:21 – 00:51:08:15
Unknown
I know there’s some people.

00:51:08:18 – 00:51:17:09
Unknown
That you feel alone. I’m here to say this message came for you.

00:51:17:11 – 00:51:26:17
Unknown
If you didn’t think God cared that he just let you go through a bunch of stuff that you don’t understand.

00:51:26:20 – 00:51:32:06
Unknown
Pain, hurt.

00:51:32:09 – 00:51:38:08
Unknown
Better yet, betrayal.

00:51:38:11 – 00:51:42:19
Unknown
Why?

00:51:42:22 – 00:51:50:14
Unknown
So you wandered your way out.

00:51:50:16 – 00:52:19:06
Unknown
Jesus is here to bring you back because he loves you. He cares. And he knows who you belong to. He knows the price he paid. And he paid it because you were worth it. No one pays ransom for something that means nothing.

00:52:19:08 – 00:52:25:26
Unknown
No one.

00:52:25:29 – 00:53:00:05
Unknown
So as John sings a song, I want you to think about Jesus calling you, about Jesus coming and about that hook that he’s going to pick you up with and draw you in. Don’t fight it. Are you really enjoying being out there on your own, without him, without the other sheep? Your friends? Your family?

00:53:00:07 – 00:53:07:09
Unknown
It’s funny. All people want is to be loved.

00:53:07:12 – 00:53:12:18
Unknown
And then we push them all the way.

00:53:12:20 – 00:53:18:23
Unknown
Unfortunately, I know a little bit about that part.

00:53:18:26 – 00:53:27:02
Unknown
But, you know, Jesus rescued my heart.

00:53:27:04 – 00:53:31:23
Unknown
He wants to rescue yours today.

00:53:31:25 – 00:54:06:12
Unknown
Because he came to destroy the works of the devil. He came to give life in life more abundantly. John, will you go ahead and sing?

00:54:06:15 – 00:54:17:13
Unknown
Because the Lord is my shepherd.

00:54:17:16 – 00:54:26:07
Unknown
I can give it for any.

00:54:26:09 – 00:54:34:19
Unknown
He maketh me to like in green pastures.

00:54:34:21 – 00:54:43:20
Unknown
And he leaves me. I could cry, it streams.

00:54:43:22 – 00:54:53:11
Unknown
For walk to the valley of the shadow of death.

00:54:53:13 – 00:55:01:06
Unknown
I shall fear no evil.

00:55:01:08 – 00:55:08:25
Unknown
I got and staff. They comfort me.

00:55:08:27 – 00:55:19:11
Unknown
And they keep me closely. Closely by your side.

00:55:19:14 – 00:55:28:05
Unknown
In the presence of mine enemies.

00:55:28:08 – 00:55:35:01
Unknown
Stand safe in away fear.

00:55:35:04 – 00:55:54:02
Unknown
That perfect love has cast out all my fear. I have nothing, I have nothing more to drain.

00:55:54:04 – 00:56:01:22
Unknown
Because love is my shepherd.

00:56:01:25 – 00:56:24:14
Unknown
I have everything I need.

00:56:24:17 – 00:56:38:29
Unknown
So Lord, we come to you. We thank you for your great love. We thank you that you are our great Shepherd.

00:56:39:02 – 00:56:44:08
Unknown
You are our good shepherd.

00:56:44:10 – 00:56:56:06
Unknown
And we do have everything we need. Because we have you. Because without you, we could not do this.

00:56:56:09 – 00:57:04:00
Unknown
But with you we have it all.

00:57:04:02 – 00:57:07:14
Unknown
Today. Lord.

00:57:07:17 – 00:57:11:15
Unknown
We left this bread.

00:57:11:18 – 00:57:17:25
Unknown
And we look at it and we think of the body.

00:57:17:27 – 00:57:28:02
Unknown
You gave your physical body endured physical pain.

00:57:28:04 – 00:57:38:08
Unknown
Be nailed to a cross. Being humiliated in front of people.

00:57:38:11 – 00:57:47:18
Unknown
Being scorned, being beaten, being mocked.

00:57:47:20 – 00:57:54:06
Unknown
So I wouldn’t have to be.

00:57:54:08 – 00:58:19:07
Unknown
We eat this in remembrance of what you’ve done.

00:58:19:10 – 00:58:28:18
Unknown
Lord, as we look at the cup.

00:58:28:20 – 00:58:38:11
Unknown
We see the blood that flowed from your head and dripped to the ground.

00:58:38:14 – 00:58:44:03
Unknown
We saw the stripes that they gave you.

00:58:44:05 – 00:58:54:12
Unknown
That procured my wholeness and my healing.

00:58:54:15 – 00:59:03:21
Unknown
That allows me to be made whole. Body, soul and spirit.

00:59:03:24 – 00:59:40:00
Unknown
Like. Declare your healing over every body that drinks this blood, because that’s what it was poured out for.

00:59:40:02 – 00:59:58:19
Unknown
As we end its time with the Lord. There may be some of you who need another minute. If you do, just come to the altar. Just come to the altar.

00:59:58:21 – 01:00:04:14
Unknown
But when you leave here today.

01:00:04:16 – 01:00:10:29
Unknown
I want you to know that you don’t leave alone.

01:00:11:01 – 01:00:27:03
Unknown
You leave with the great Shepherd. You leave with the Holy Spirit living inside of you. And you were designed to be like Jesus. So what is your mission?

01:00:27:06 – 01:00:46:18
Unknown
What is your mission when you stand up? What was Jesus mission? To destroy the works of the enemy, not to play with them. Destroy them.

01:00:46:21 – 01:00:51:10
Unknown
Destroy them.

01:00:51:12 – 01:00:58:04
Unknown
The works of the enemy. Addictions.

01:00:58:06 – 01:01:33:03
Unknown
Depression. Illness, everything that’s tries to slow you down. You are here and empowered to destroy. Because you have the good Shepherd with you and Holy Spirit in you. So you leave here knowing who you are and what you are to do. Sometimes people say, I don’t know what to do. I don’t know what my purpose is. Your purpose is to destroy the devil, okay?

01:01:33:04 – 01:02:00:26
Unknown
Wherever that means in your life, destroy him. Don’t listen to him. Destroy him no more, blah blah blah. So I love you. God bless you. I will miss you. I will see you in a few weeks. Pastor Pat sends his love you. Sorry he can’t be here. Pastor Alex and his wife Natasha send their love. They were with us for Voice of God, Pastor John and shall send their love.

01:02:00:27 – 01:02:07:18
Unknown
So go. Know that you are loved. In Jesus name.

01:02:07:21 – 01:02:11:01
Unknown
Thank you.

01:02:11:04 – 01:02:31:26
Unknown
Thank you. Apostles. And just before you guys go, I think, you know, I just I want us to be able to respond to that, if that’s you. Lisa has a prayer. She can pray over you. If you’ve been in the valley, you know, I’ll just say I’ll be. I’ll be transparent. This last week was a difficult week. I had a panic attack.

01:02:32:03 – 01:02:54:09

I thought I thought I was having a heart attack. I went to the E.R.. There was so much fear that was on me. And God’s with you in that. The way that you overcome sometimes is to open up, to allow people to help you, to allow people to walk with you, to allow people to know things about you.

If you need to remain behind in the front, there’s people already at the altar. We’ll stay and we’ll pray with you because you’re not alone. There’s a shepherd with you in the valley, and you are going to come out of that valley, and you are going to walk with him by grace the way Jesus has shown us to do.

The way Pastor Celine showed us in this message. So if you need to remain behind, please do that. If not, we have fellowship for you across the way. We have a meal for you if you’re visiting. So we’re going to dismiss those that need to go and those that need to stay. This is your opportunity and we’ll we’ll pray with you.

There are moments when God brings several things together at once: a holy day, a church anniversary, a personal memory, a fresh stirring of the Holy Spirit, and a message that reminds us who Jesus really is. That is what Apostle Celene carried in this message.

On Pentecost, she reminded the church that the Holy Spirit did not come quietly or passively. He came with the sound of a rushing mighty wind, with fire, with power, and with the language of heaven. Pentecost was not simply a calm moment of comfort. It was a divine interruption. It was heaven entering the room.

That same Spirit-filled power is still central to the Kingdom way.

This message was also preached on Memorial Day weekend, a time of remembrance and honor. Apostle Celene connected the sacrifice of those who gave their lives for earthly freedom with the greater sacrifice of Jesus, the One who said, “No one takes My life. I lay it down.” Jesus did not only lay His life down; He took it back up again. He conquered sin, death, and hell, and He came back as the victorious Shepherd of His people.

The Kingdom Way Is Different from the World’s Way

Apostle Celene continued the church’s teaching series on the Kingdom Way by reminding us that there are two kingdoms: the kingdom of darkness and the Kingdom of light.

When we receive Jesus, believe in our hearts, and confess Him with our mouths, we are transferred out of darkness and into light. But being transferred into the Kingdom means learning a new way to live. The world has its ways, and the Kingdom has its ways.

The world calls evil good and good evil. It calls darkness light and light darkness. Isaiah 5 warns about this kind of confusion. Apostle Celene made it clear: the world we live in is upside down, but God’s answer was not to abandon the world. His answer was Jesus.

Jesus came as a man, born as a baby, walking among us, facing temptation, pressure, pain, and opposition. He came to show us what Kingdom life looks like in human form.

He did not come only to get us to heaven someday. He came to bring heaven to earth now.

The Gospel of the Kingdom Brings Heaven to Earth

One of the strongest moments in the message was Apostle Celene’s reminder that the gospel is good news, not crazy news.

The gospel tells us that through Jesus, we are forgiven, redeemed, and given eternal life. That is beautiful and glorious. We do not have to fear death because we know where we are going.

But the gospel of the Kingdom is not only about going to heaven when we die. It is about bringing heaven to earth while we live.

Jesus came from heaven to earth. Now we, filled with the Holy Spirit, are called to carry the life, authority, compassion, healing, forgiveness, and power of heaven into the world around us.

First John 3:8 says that the Son of God came to destroy the works of the devil. Apostle Celene emphasized this clearly: Jesus came to destroy sin and death, and if we want to be like Jesus, we start by allowing Him to destroy the works of the enemy in our own lives.

Addiction, depression, fear, sickness, torment, and bondage are not the works of God. They are works of the enemy. And the Kingdom way does not make peace with them. The Kingdom way confronts them through the power of Jesus and the indwelling Holy Spirit.

Jesus Is the Good Shepherd

The central picture of the message came from John 10, where Jesus reveals Himself as the Good Shepherd.

He is the gate. He is the door. He is the only way in. Apostle Celene pointed out that some people get troubled by the idea that there is only one way, but she framed it as good news: if there is only one way, we do not have to be confused or lost. Jesus made the way clear.

In John 10, Jesus contrasts the Good Shepherd with thieves, robbers, hired hands, and wolves. The thief comes to steal, kill, and destroy. The hired hand runs when danger comes because the sheep do not belong to him. But the Good Shepherd lays down His life for the sheep.

That is what Jesus did.

He saw humanity scattered, vulnerable, wounded, confused, and preyed upon by the enemy. He came to gather His sheep back to Himself. He came to protect, heal, restore, and lead.

The shepherd does not run from the wolf. The shepherd carries a rod and staff. The rod drives the enemy away, and the staff draws the sheep close. Both are forms of comfort. God is not only tender; He is also strong. He does not merely comfort us after the enemy attacks. He actively protects us from being devoured.

The Lord Is My Shepherd

Apostle Celene then moved into Psalm 23, showing how David’s prophetic song points us to Jesus.

“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.”

This is not just poetry. It is a declaration. When the Lord is our Shepherd, we are not abandoned, forgotten, or left to figure life out alone. We are watched over. We are cared for. We are led.

“He maketh me to lie down in green pastures.”

Sometimes God causes us to stop. Apostle Celene called these “maketh me moments.” We may not always choose rest on our own, so God lovingly brings us into places where we have to slow down, listen, and receive.

“He leadeth me beside the still waters.”

The Shepherd does not lead us into chaos for the sake of chaos. He leads us beside still waters. In a world full of anxiety, pressure, hatred, depression, and fear, Jesus restores the soul.

He Restores My Soul

One of the most pastoral and healing parts of the message centered on this phrase: “He restoreth my soul.”

Our soul includes our mind, will, emotions, and intellect. It is where pain, fear, anxiety, depression, hatred, and trauma often live. But Jesus came to restore the soul.

Apostle Celene made a powerful statement: God can reverse the damage.

That does not mean healing is always instant. Sometimes restoration is a process. Sometimes it includes talking to someone, receiving prayer, walking with others, and taking steps toward wholeness. But the purpose is restoration, not remaining stuck in trauma.

The Shepherd does not define us by the valley. He walks us through it.

Walk Through the Valley

Psalm 23 does not say we avoid every valley. It says that even though we walk through the valley of the shadow of death, we fear no evil because He is with us.

The key word is “walk.”

Apostle Celene urged the church not to sit down in the valley, pitch a tent, hide, or stay stuck. We are called to walk with Jesus through the valley. If we walk alone, fear can overwhelm us. But when we walk with the Shepherd, we are not alone.

And often, we are not only walking with Jesus. We are walking with the flock. God gives us people, family, friends, pastors, and a church body so that we do not remain scattered and isolated.

The enemy loves isolation. The Shepherd brings us back into relationship.

A Table in the Presence of Enemies

Psalm 23 also says that God prepares a table before us in the presence of our enemies.

Apostle Celene pointed out that Jesus is not intimidated. He does not have to remove every enemy before He feeds us. He can set a table right in front of what tried to destroy us.

That is Kingdom confidence.

The Shepherd can nourish us while the enemy watches. He can give us peace in the middle of pressure. He can cause us to sit, eat, receive, and rest even before the battle looks finished.

The Anointing Protects and Heals

“Thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.”

Apostle Celene explained that shepherds used oil on sheep for protection, healing, and care. The oil helped keep away insects and parasites. It protected wounds. It even helped rams when they collided with each other by making their heads slippery so the impact would be less damaging.

This became a beautiful picture of the anointing.

God’s anointing is not just a spiritual feeling. It protects. It heals. It helps us survive collisions. It keeps pests from tormenting us. It creates a barrier against what would cause self-injury, agitation, or destruction.

The Shepherd knows how to care for His sheep.

Keep Going Forward

The message also carried a humorous but memorable lesson from Psalm 23: “Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life.”

If goodness and mercy are following us, that means we are moving forward.

Apostle Celene used the image of sheep walking forward and leaving behind what needs to be left behind. The point was simple and powerful: do not walk backward into what God has already brought you through.

Leave it behind. Do not sit in it. Do not play in it. Do not go backward.

Keep walking forward, and goodness and mercy will follow.

The Shepherd Comes for the One

Toward the close of the message, Apostle Celene shifted into a deeply personal invitation.

Psalm 23 was David’s declaration of who God was in his life. The question becomes: what is your declaration?

If your life has not been declaring, “The Lord is my Shepherd,” then today is an invitation to begin.

Maybe the enemy has scattered you. Maybe you feel alone. Maybe you have walked through pain, hurt, betrayal, confusion, or isolation. Maybe you have wandered far away in your heart, even if you are physically standing near people.

Jesus is the Shepherd who leaves the ninety-nine and goes after the one.

He knows who you belong to. He knows the price He paid. And He paid that price because you were worth it.

No one pays a ransom for something that means nothing.

You Do Not Leave Alone

The message ended with communion and a reminder that Jesus gave His body and blood so we could be made whole: body, soul, and spirit.

When we leave the gathering, we do not leave alone. We leave with the Great Shepherd. We leave with the Holy Spirit living inside of us. We leave with a mission.

Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil. Now, filled with His Spirit and led by the Good Shepherd, we are called to partner with His mission in our own lives and in the world around us.

You have a Shepherd.
You have the Holy Spirit.
You have a purpose.
You are not alone.
