Pastor Bob Wilk taught that every believer has a vital place in what God is building. We do not have to become extraordinary personalities before God can use us; He works through ordinary people who carry the supernatural life of Christ.
The message of life has been entrusted to the whole Body, not merely pastors and leaders. Through prayer, discipleship, presbytery, impartation, commissioning, and teamwork, believers are equipped and sent to carry the life of Jesus into people and communities.
Nehemiah provides a picture of this process: he recognized a need, prayed, received provision, assessed the situation, gathered people, built together, and ultimately participated in the restoration of a people and region.

Because we’re doing this up at the front. It’s our coach, your loving kindness, Lord, your mercy that you sent your son to die for us, Lord, that we would have a full entrance, Lord, into who you are and to your presence.

Have some incredible conversations with them. And I have incredible respect for the faith and honor that they walk out in their lives. It’s it’s amazing. But today, we’re here to glorify God. They’re great people, but God is greater.

And I want my friend Joe here, another incredible man, one who you would not know is so full of faith, kindness, generosity. He is an incredible man and I love him. But he has a testimony that he’s going to share.

Hello. On September 14th, I was having a hard time breathing and so I went to the hospital to get my heart checked and they did a CT scan and they found a help, President Andrew. So, they shoot me down in Modesto and,

Peggy Costa put me on the prayer team and all that, and they sent me home after four days and said, I got to do a follow up with a brain surgeon. Well, they ordered an MRI, and it’s clear.

Amen. We serve a living God church. If you need to take a step of faith today, take a step into his presence and continue to give him your all because it is worth it. Amen. Church. Pastor Liz, it’s yours.

You know, we don’t just enjoy the presence of God like it’s a cloud that fills the room. But when you feel his presence, it’s because he’s here.
00:14:57:07 – 00:15:33:00

He’s not a force. He’s not an energy. He is a father. He is a brother. He is a friend. He is a healer. He is a deliverer. He is the one who rescues. He is the one who saves. He is the one who gives us all that we will ever need for this life. And today, as we’re here together, unified in worship, I believe that the spirit of freedom is moving on the hearts and the minds of his people.
00:15:33:02 – 00:16:15:03
Unknown
Not always in a in a warfare type way, but with the sweetness of his presence, with his holiness, with his beauty, with truth that penetrates darkness. I believe that the spirit of the Lord is among us today, to bring his people into a new place of liberty in the Holy Spirit, where there is nothing that keeps us from him, where there is nothing that keeps us from walking into all that Christ paid and purchased for us.
00:16:15:06 – 00:16:42:00
Unknown
So we are responding to the invitation of the Holy Spirit to take a step closer, to allow him to cut off of us the weights, the things that hold us, the mindsets that we have carried for too long. This is for all of us. I’m just speaking a word today that the spirit of the Lord is bringing freedom.
00:16:42:00 – 01:02:02:23
Unknown
Because we’re the spirit of the Lord is there is freedom, and freedom is the work of the Holy Spirit to bring sons and daughters into their home, to bring sons and daughters into the likeness of the truth, Son of God. This is the work that the Lord is doing here today. If we will respond to his invitation. Hallelujah at that, and you worship and praise him in his people.
01:02:02:23 – 01:02:30:28
Unknown
And so he’s taking back territory. And the Lord just delivered me from the need of having to do anything for my extended family who is not of him, other than to just represent Jesus to him, because just keep us in our prayers. We’re going down. Sam’s mom used to come here and she passed away. We’re doing her funeral next weekend, and there’s a spirit that’s come against that situation because she was a strong woman in Christ, and he just delivered me for from the need to do anything but represent here.
01:02:30:28 – 01:02:56:26
Unknown
So, so Lord, we just thank you that you are good. Lord, we thank you that you are a God of liberty and freedom, and we thank you that your grace is enough, that your mercy is extended, and that it is only by your grace and your mercy that we can walk humbly and faithful with you. Lord, we thank you, God, that you are a God who sees every need, that you are a God.
01:02:56:26 – 01:03:26:12
Unknown
That is because it is fullness of joy. In your presence is life and fulfillment everlasting upon everlasting. So, Lord, we thank you today for your presence. Lord, we thank you today for your great salvation. Lord, we thank you today that we get to declare who you are from the top of this mountain, into our community, into our state, into our nation, and into the world.
01:03:26:12 – 01:04:12:09
Unknown
Oh God, because the earth will be filled with your glory. The earth will be filled with your glory. We declare it. We give you all the glory. Ha! All the honor, all the glory to you alone and together your people say Amen and amen and amen. Amen. Church, you may be seated. Just keep. As part of our worship, we bring our tithes and our offerings to the Lord.
01:04:12:11 – 01:04:35:10
Unknown
So I’m just going to take a moment to pray. So Lord, we just thank you that we get to give back a small portion to you, just a small portion to you. And Lord, we pray that you would use it to further your work here in this house, in this region, and everywhere you send us, Lord. So we give you thanks.
01:04:35:10 – 01:05:02:12

We give you praise. In Jesus name, Amen. Amen. Thank you, Pastor Liz and George and worship team who God is so faithful. Amen. Got a couple announcements for you. I will try to keep it brief, but this week we have spirit and truth, a worship encounter coming. So if you haven’t registered, this is your last chance to get registered.

It’s going to be Thursday night through Saturday and God is going to move. And we’re so excited about it. I can’t say enough about what God is going to do, and I feel like today it was just a little bit of a glimpse of what God is bringing us into new things. You know, God is so good that he always has something new.
01:05:20:01 – 01:05:36:04
Unknown
Right. And there’s always places to grow and to learn and get deeper and closer. So I want to encourage you to come. It’s going to be a wonderful time. We have level one and level two this year. Pastor Liz is going to be here teaching one of the levels as well. So it’s going to be a great time.
01:05:36:04 – 01:05:57:14
Unknown
You won’t want to miss it. But Wednesday night this week we have presbyteries. So yes. So it’s going to be here in the sanctuary. We’ll send out some more details via email, but you’re not going to want to miss it. The Lord is moving and he is building his church, right? That the gates of hell would not prevail against it.
01:05:57:15 – 01:06:19:16
Unknown
And that’s what God is doing in in the laying on of hands and presbytery where he’s setting into ministry for this body and the the things that he has establishing here and calling us to do. So we’re really excited about that. Don’t miss it, pastor. Less bowling will be here. As part of that, we’ve got Pastor Liz, pastor Mike and Pastor Jeff Green going to be part of our presbytery team.
01:06:19:18 – 01:06:41:20
Unknown
It’s going to be amazing and we’re really excited. This next Sunday, though, we have Pastor Les Bowling speaking. It’s going to be an honor. And he always brings, just such a powerful word. And we are also get the opportunity to ordain there by Tosca next Sunday. Yes. So it’s going to be a really good week. So it’s a little different.
01:06:41:20 – 01:07:10:03
Unknown
We still have chapel prayer on Tuesday morning at 630. We still have Celebrate Recovery at 630 on Tuesday evenings. And they could still use a little bit of help with childcare. So if you could see Christina that would be really helpful and God is moving with that. We have a couple other things coming. Our Christmas musical. Woo! It is December 11th, 12th and 13th, not 12, 13th and 14th, 11th, 12th and 13th.
01:07:10:06 – 01:07:34:18
Unknown
And we are getting ready. So choir practice today at 130. Lots of great things happening. You can be involved in so many ways. It’s such a great outreach that we have to our community where we get to bring them. Jesus, not just pretty Christmas songs, but we bring them Jesus. Amen. Did I miss anything? Okay. With that, I’d like to invite pastor Bob to the platform.
01:07:34:19 – 01:07:59:08
Unknown
He’s going to bring us the word today.
01:07:59:11 – 01:08:03:13
Unknown
Okay. How’s everyone doing?
01:08:03:15 – 01:08:30:07
Unknown
Okay. Everybody wave. Yeah. That’s good. Yes, yes, it’s a good thing. Wow. What a wonderful time. In the presence of the Lord. Amen. We’re still set up for a wedding, I’ve noticed. Okay. Who’s getting married today? Come on up. We’ll do it right now. Just run on up. Just come on. Yes. You’re good. Okay. Where do we go from here?
01:08:30:10 – 01:09:08:20
Unknown
Yes, pastor Jonathan, the Lord spoke to my heart during our worship time, and he said that he’s coming in under the yoke with you, that you don’t have to bear it alone. The father wants you to know that distinctly. He know. And he also wants to remind you that he’s mentioned this to you before, and now he’s reminding you, because what you’ll start to see in your life is a lifting of burden and a bearing of even more than you’ve had in the past, without the pressure of being crushed.
01:09:08:22 – 01:09:13:19
Unknown
Amen.
01:09:13:22 – 01:09:38:25
Unknown
Amen. Okay, here we are. Today we are part of a series we’re doing. I don’t know if it’s going up there or not. His church under construction. Hey, by the way, the presence of God was so great today. Yeah, when we were back, I was back there worshiping. I was thinking, you know, it’s like a rocket ship that’s getting ready to take off, you know?
01:09:38:26 – 01:10:03:00
Unknown
And they do that fueling kind of at the end so it doesn’t blow up, I guess, right at every all the time. And that’s what God’s doing in the spirit today. He’s actually getting us set for a whole week and or two, maybe of some tense, components of God that will actually establish where the rest of us go for the rest of our lives.
01:10:03:02 – 01:10:28:22
Unknown
Now, you have to understand that, because you might think that some of the things that are going to happen this week are for some other people or for individuals, and I’m going to discuss a little bit of that today. But it’s really for us all as individuals and corporately, I said, and corporately, that means you. And so if you think you’re excluded from this, then you’re hearing a lie from the enemy.
01:10:28:24 – 01:10:53:13
Unknown
You’re not actually hearing the Spirit of God. The only thing the enemy has to do is convince you that you’re not part of the corporate, that it doesn’t matter if it goes along without you or not. And what he does in that process is he will extract you and pull you away and isolate you and keep you from being part of the body of Christ.
01:10:53:15 – 01:11:20:10
Unknown
Yeah, because it’s his body that he’s building. Yeah. Because apparently he’s coming back for a people. Yeah. A glorious bride without spot or wrinkle. That can be you. Even though today you might be thinking you’re not so glorious. Or maybe you don’t have a part. But God wants you to know that you have a part. And that he will glorify just as he glorifies his name.
01:11:20:12 – 01:11:45:15
Unknown
He will also glorify his people. This is an interesting thing over here. I was spotting this from so far away. There’s a painting going on here. People. Sort of people, Wow. That’s weird. The Lord was speaking to me earlier this week about Jesus. You know, Jesus never. He never shined. He never. I don’t know. He never glowed.
01:11:45:16 – 01:12:14:24
Unknown
Except for once. Now I’m talking to somebody here today. Okay? He glowed once in the on the mountain of Transfiguration. Yes, but all the rest of the time he was a plain old human. Yes. With spectacular faith. Believing God for his purposes in his personal life. So I’m talking I’m prophesying to somebody today that you think you have to shine and glow and just, you know, lights have to come on.
01:12:14:25 – 01:12:42:17
Unknown
You like this, and mamma mia! If you had this head, you’d be really in trouble. But no. All you need to do is have that small mustard seed of faith and believe who God has called you to. And this has so much to do with the message I have to bring today. But there’s a purpose in each individual’s lives, and all you have to do is be normal.
01:12:42:19 – 01:12:56:02
Unknown
Yeah. Pastor Jeremiah, in our class on Friday with the folks back to the East, he was quoting me. I think it was me, he said, supernaturally natural.
01:12:56:04 – 01:13:29:16
Unknown
Don’t be abnormal. Just be normal. And in that process, God is drawing together his people. He’s putting together a bride that he’s coming back for that he is pleased with that he loves. That’s you. I said, that’s you. This is good news. This is a good thing not to be sad about. Yeah. To be extremely happy with joyful that God is going to use you right where you’re at, with all your limitations, with even your fears.
01:13:29:19 – 01:13:51:15
Unknown
Yeah. With even your concerns and your worries. God can break right through all that I’m speaking. I’m prophesying to you, Body of Christ today to come up out of the grave, the grave that the enemy of your soul has dug for you to make you go back in and go, I’m not good enough because I don’t have this and I don’t have that.
01:13:51:16 – 01:14:23:18
Unknown
God says, you are worthy in my eyes. You were made worthy and made righteous by the blood of Jesus Christ. It was nothing you could do for yourself. It had to be done by the power of the living God. And he has done it. And everyone that receives this word into their heart will receive the anointing of the living God to take the very next normal step, the very next natural step that will bring supernatural reality into this earth.
01:14:23:21 – 01:14:56:26
Unknown
Come on, come on. All right, all right, I’ll get to the message. Yeah, we are in week four of the church, his church under construction. And, this week it’s called Sent to Build, which is very appropriate with what we’ve going on. The first week was the master builder. We started talking about who he is, and then we the second week got to Sharon equipped for to build.
01:14:56:26 – 01:15:26:20
Unknown
That was part of the presbytery message. The third week. I’m just keeping you so you’re know where we’re at here. Third week we were built to multiply. That was last week. That’s when we discussed church planting, the planting that we are about to do in our very near future. This is exciting. Oh, by the way, I think I heard the pastor say when they announced it that this was one of many.
01:15:26:23 – 01:15:48:05
Unknown
Right? Because I don’t want us to get small vision with God. Okay. We’ll get I’ll keep going. I’ll start to. All right, all right. I know it’s scary, right? I understand God has been able to hang in here for 2000 years building his church. He can keep going. Okay. Today sent to build is also about the presbytery.
01:15:48:05 – 01:16:09:18
Unknown
In some ways. I want to go over a little bit of a rehearsal of what I covered the last time I preached a couple of weeks ago, I talked about this. Why is he building his church? The why behind that is for life. It’s so that he will prevail over death in the earth. Oh come on. Death. Where is your sting?
01:16:09:20 – 01:16:28:16
Unknown
Come on. Oh! Come on. All right. Life more abundant. And it’s the message of life that God is deposited into this church. And he gave it to pastor Tom Shaw and said, it’s just yours. You hide it and don’t share it with anybody. And then he passed it on to pastor Pat and Celine and said, you’ve got it.
01:16:28:16 – 01:16:56:25
Unknown
You hold it, you just run with it. And then and then he gave it to Pastor Shelly and Jonathan and said, okay, you got it. You just hide it right here. And it’s just, you know, the message of life has been deposited into each of us as individuals. If everybody I know I’ve spoken this in spirit, three if everybody in the church disappeared and it was just you, you would be responsible for the message of life.
01:16:56:27 – 01:17:44:06
Unknown
You have to understand these the importance and sensuality of what I’m saying. That means if even you’re just a young person, 14, 15, 16 years old, and you’re here screwing around trying to figure out which way is up with God, and everybody fell off the planet. In this team here, you would be responsible to hold the message of life if you’ve heard that message, if Holy Spirit has poured that message into you and anointed your heart to carry his message in righteousness with a deliberate listen, a deliberate intention to build on it, that’s the that’s more than just building structures.
01:17:44:06 – 01:18:17:15
Unknown
That’s more than the beautiful. We have really beautiful doors back there. I can actually see way out there. Yeah. Thank you. Thank you, team for whoever did that. Mike and Eric and wow. It’s awesome. It’s beautiful. It’s great. I’m going to kind of be like oh it’s so nice out there. Oh. Oh yeah. Preaching okay. John 173 and says, and this is eternal life, that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent.
01:18:17:17 – 01:18:42:01
Unknown
We’re going over a little review here. Still. We’re talking about the DNA of the gospel of Christ. Did you hear what I just said? There’s a DNA we heard about some of this last week, but it’s a it’s a true thing. It’s something that’s in each and every one of us that we are responsible to pass on, be fruitful and multiply.
01:18:42:03 – 01:19:04:21
Unknown
This is more than just a church multiplying another church. This is us as individuals. If you recall, Pastor Shelley put up there, and I don’t know if it’s on there. I could go backwards, I suppose, in the. Can we do that? Can we go backwards? Yeah. Pray, invite disciple and multiply. I’m going to talk a little bit more about that as we go on, but that’s up to each of us as individuals.
01:19:04:24 – 01:19:38:16
Unknown
That isn’t an assignment on the pastors. That’s an assignment to the body of Christ to pray, to invite. That means invite people into a relationship with Jesus Christ. And in that process, you might actually invite him to church also. Yeah, but firstly, to invite them into a place with Jesus and then obviously to disciple and to multiply. So this DNA we’re talking about in the gospel, we also talked a little bit out of First John.
01:19:38:19 – 01:20:06:21
Unknown
Chapter four, verses 15 to 17 says, if anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, that means anyone, that means you. That means you might be sitting here in this audience today and you don’t know Jesus. There’s a simplicity in God that will allow you to come to him. And it says, if anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in them and they in God.
01:20:06:24 – 01:20:29:01
Unknown
What a promise that means. You have to go stand on your head. You have to roll and do weird stuff. No, all you have to do is the simplicity of acknowledging that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. And so when we know and rely on the love of God, that the love of God has for us, God is love.
01:20:29:04 – 01:20:35:06
Unknown
Man, it’s so good to know God is love. Pardon my.
01:20:35:08 – 01:20:40:07
Unknown
Ever since I died. It runs.
01:20:40:10 – 01:21:07:03
Unknown
I’m not going to be embarrassed about it. I’m just not going to like. Okay. All right. Okay. But that’s what this is. I’m going to keep it here and then my wife won’t worry about me drowning up here. Whosoever lives in the love, in love lives in God and God in them. This is how love is made complete among us, so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment.
01:21:07:10 – 01:21:42:03
Unknown
In this world, we are like Jesus who believes that I’ll come on. I’ll only half the handsome one up. Who’s going to believe that? Yeah, maybe I should ask that. You have to bring your faith to this. That in this world, you are like Jesus. He was naturally supernatural. He was as normal as they come. He learned obedience by the things he suffered.
01:21:42:05 – 01:21:47:06
Unknown
That means he suffered some things.
01:21:47:09 – 01:22:14:10
Unknown
It wasn’t all bright lights and glamor, that’s for sure. Okay, first Corinthians three. We’re still reviewing three verses three. Verse nine says, for we are God’s fellow workers and you are God’s field. You are God’s building, God’s building, and he’s building people. Okay, so spirit and truth is happening this week. We heard about that. Just I’m going to rehearse it to you because we are in the rocketship that’s getting ready to go.
01:22:14:13 – 01:22:35:17
Unknown
Part of what’s going to happen in spirit of truth is the presence of God is going to be here just like he is now, and maybe more intense, and he’s going to invite you into his secret place. He’s going to pull you into a place with him. If you all you have to do, you have to come with gigantic faith, right?
01:22:35:17 – 01:22:54:07
Unknown
You have to like, move mountains and and, you know, like sparks have to come out of your fingers and blue flames, eyes have to go. No. All you have to do is come and go. Father, I’m here to meet with you. So I’m putting in an extra plug for Spirit and Truth this weekend. Because if you miss it, you’re going to.
01:22:54:14 – 01:23:09:19
Unknown
You’re going to hear from people who go, God visited me. Yeah. God came and visited me. Thank you for the three people that are going now.
01:23:09:22 – 01:23:38:03
Unknown
I prophesy there will be over a hundred people here. Come on. Yeah. Yes, you could be one of the 100. So also next week, like we heard, there’s Ordination Sunday. Yes. This is completely connected to the presbytery, which we’re going to discuss here. Everything we are today in this church developed from presbytery. Okay. Let me put it this way.
01:23:38:07 – 01:24:17:23
Unknown
The reason you’re sitting in the seat today was something that came from presbytery. The power exerted in it, the purpose exerted in it, it came from that. It was God’s purpose. And he uses his presbytery, his elders, his prophetic elders to prophesy into people’s lives and into corporate lives the purpose that he has where he’s going forward. I’m telling you, one little word called out on one little lady 57, eight, 57 years ago.
01:24:17:26 – 01:24:44:20
Unknown
And now this is here. Oh, oh, oh, come on. And it doesn’t stop here. There are several other works that have affected thousands of people’s lives. Believe it or not, from one little star, one little word. So if you’re getting a word and you are, by the way, everyone here will be receiving a word. Presbytery. You’re like, how?
01:24:44:23 – 01:25:12:07
Unknown
Yes, there will be certain people that have been asked to receive a specific word, but the church is receiving a word. You have to understand that we have to believe that. And so the word that pastor Pat received 50 years ago is being fulfilled today. Yes. And by the way, it didn’t end there. He’s gotten multiple other words since then that add to and redirect.
01:25:12:07 – 01:25:37:10
Unknown
And yes, just like you. And what’s really important is the words that some of the folks that will be getting this on Wednesday night, remember we heard it’s this Wednesday night, 7:00 right here will be affecting Pastor Pat’s life, not because he’s going to be receiving a word, I don’t know, but he is because he’s a faithful man of God.
01:25:37:10 – 01:26:08:04
Unknown
He is going to be receiving the word that the people are receiving as part of his own life, because we are bone of his bone and flesh of his flesh. We are in the body of Christ. It’s a nice, pithy little saying if we just want to go, oh yeah, we go to that church. But we have to understand that you do more than go to that church, that your vital, essential component of this house and many other houses that are here to bring the life of God into the earth.
01:26:08:07 – 01:26:18:13
Unknown
And every joint supplies the Bible tells us that means every, you know, not joints.

Those used to supply for me a long time ago until Jesus got me, it was great. But every every part of the body, every joint of the body, supplies, even the little weird ones. Oh, okay. Okay. We keep going. We’re still reviewing. We’ll never get to the message. You got ours, right? Okay, so October 21st, Wednesday, 7 p.m..
01:26:42:26 – 01:27:04:04
Unknown
Presbytery. It’s a time of receiving and equipping, okay? It’s normally done by a group of elders. I don’t want to call Liz old, but now she is so, so sad. So sad. You know, getting some gray hair, sister, I don’t know. Yeah, yeah.
01:27:04:06 – 01:27:31:01
Unknown
She has her. That’s cold. See, when you’re part of the core team here in the pastors, you know they have no problem insulting you in public. It’s it’s wonderful. Oh, I have here too. It’s on the inside. Okay, so this is for the work of the ministry. This is what the press is about. It’s the building and maturing of his body, his church, into his image.
01:27:31:03 – 01:28:02:06
Unknown
That’s you. That’s not the person next to you. That’s not the people that are just getting prophesied over. That’s you that he’s developing in his image. The presbytery is delivering gifts to you. Those people that will be receiving a word, they’re receiving it for you. Yeah. In other words, if they’re called into something, into, you know, and given a gift, it’s not just so, oh, I’m so good, I can heal people.
01:28:02:08 – 01:28:07:12
Unknown
No, it’s for the people who need to be healed.
01:28:07:14 – 01:28:33:24
Unknown
Yeah, because you can lock up your gift. Oh, I was just going to be mean. You can we can lock up our gift, and some of us have. I got a nice little word. Who knows where it came from or when. And I’m just sitting on it waiting for God to totally perform it. And God’s like. It’s your move.
01:28:33:27 – 01:28:58:20
Unknown
I gave you my promise. I will prosper my word where I sent it. But I gave it to you to act on, to do something with, to equip yourself to ready yourself for how you’re going to operate in those things that I promise to you. Does that make sense to everybody? Okay. All right. We’ll keep going.
01:28:58:22 – 01:29:22:05
Unknown
Yeah. The purpose is not just for the individual, but for is even more essential for the church. That’s you. You’re going to keep hearing me say this because it’s you. Your faith is vital to the presbytery function. I said your faith. This is why you must show up on Wednesday. Because your faith is necessary for the presbytery function.
01:29:22:07 – 01:29:46:20
Unknown
Yeah. You should come believing. Some of us should probably fast and pray that when we come into the place where believing God for what? He’s going to speak to individuals for me. Okay, we’ll keep going. First Timothy 414 says, do not neglect the gift that is in you, which was given you by the by prophecy, with the laying on of hands of the elder ship.
01:29:46:23 – 01:30:09:28
Unknown
I want to really focus on the laying on of hands, and we’re going to talk about this a little bit more as we move on here. But there’s such a power that’s been lost in the churches because they have forgotten what the laying on of hands is all about. The impartation. Okay. We’ll keep going. I’m still reviewing. I’ll get ahead of myself here.
01:30:10:00 – 01:30:32:15
Unknown
Ephesians 411 through 13 says, And he himself gave some apostles, and some prophets, and some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers. Why did he do this thing for us, for the equipping of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, till we all come into the unity of the faith and the knowledge of the Son of God to a perfect man.
01:30:32:15 – 01:30:59:28
Unknown
I did say a perfect man. Yeah, okay. To the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ. That promise is for each of us to come into the measure of the fullness of the stature of Christ. That means you. That means you. Even though you’re having a bad day, that means you even if you’re having a great day, that means us.
01:31:00:01 – 01:31:27:12
Unknown
Okay, we’ll keep going. We’ll keep going. I’m sure some of these scriptures are going to get through to somebody. There are several things that happen during presbytery as God continues his building process in our church. One of these things is the sending aspect which we’re talking about today. We are building to send. And so how does this happen?
01:31:27:14 – 01:31:52:10
Unknown
Like and and what does it look like? I want to bring you to first Corinthians three nine through 17. In the new King James it says, for we are God’s fellow workers, and you are God’s field. You are God’s building. And according to the grace of God which was given to me, a wise master builder, I have laid the foundation and another builds on it.
01:31:52:12 – 01:32:28:13
Unknown
But let each one take heed how he builds on it. That means pay attention how you build. For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Christ Jesus Jesus Christ himself. He is the foundation, he is the cornerstone, and we are being built on him. I just said a mouthful there. So we see in the Scripture that God calls fellow workers.
01:32:28:19 – 01:32:51:15
Unknown
Yes, this speaks to more than one. It means a team of workers. Are you with me on this? A team that it’s not just one person and we see we are the building. This means that we are sent to build a. And we’ll build things that will be like us.
01:32:51:18 – 01:33:21:08
Unknown
While was that. That’s the DNA thing, right? We’re sent to distribute Jesus’s DNA. Things that are like us. Yeah. Some of us have lost sight of the hope of glory that resides in us. I said just now, we’re going to build others like us. It’s because so many people are afraid to admit that you’re born again of incorruptible seed by the Word of God.
01:33:21:08 – 01:33:42:02
Unknown
That means you are born again. That means you carry a spirit that’s in corruptible that that means. So yeah, you would want to build that in somebody else. Yes. Okay. I lost some of you on that. There’ll be a special class after this one for those of you who didn’t get it. And this speaks to more than one.
01:33:42:03 – 01:34:00:08
Unknown
Like I said, miss DNA hope. This also when you’re building other people. And I’m speaking to our church because we’re going to have to go out to go out and to actually invite and do all this, we have to understand what we’re made of, the DNA in us, and we have to understand of the hope that lies within us.
01:34:00:11 – 01:34:32:05
Unknown
When you listen, Paul instructs us, you don’t have to have the whole Bible memorized. Thank you. You have to have half of it now. But what you do need to know positively is what God’s done in you. And you have to be ready to give every man an answer of the hope that lies in you. Okay? Not the hope that lies in Michelle over there.
01:34:32:07 – 01:34:57:08
Unknown
Not the hope that lies in Pastor Shelly or Pastor Celine. The hope that lies in you. You hear what I’m saying? That’s part of this building that we’re talking about. Okay, let’s keep going. And that hope is to be like Jesus. Which, by the way, you’re at least a third of the way there.
01:34:57:10 – 01:35:27:09
Unknown
Isn’t that true? Some of you might be two thirds of the way there in process. Okay. So and finally, we see in that scripture in first Corinthians three that it’s built on the foundation of Jesus Christ, I believe. Listen to this. Now, this scripture is also a directive for our church moving forward. We need to pay attention to the details of this scripture.
01:35:27:12 – 01:35:52:13
Unknown
I was reminded of what I was preparing this message. I was reminded of the story of Nehemiah. Now Nehemiah was around. It must have been 2500 years ago. So he’s he’s not a local boy. And, you know, he went in and built Jerusalem, the walls of Jerusalem. Yeah. There was a building process. And that story started and I started to read through it.
01:35:52:13 – 01:36:18:15
Unknown
Am I going to read through all 13 chapters right now? We’re going to be here till two. No, I’m going to summarize it for you. But it struck me in the in that story about this building process, and it really ties in a lot to what we have heard Pastor Shelly say when she’s talking about praying and gathering and, you know, and inviting and all this and the story of Nehemiah is very interesting.
01:36:18:17 – 01:36:39:16
Unknown
He’s building the walls of Jerusalem. And it’s really a case study in building projects, but also it’s designed to teach us as God’s people how to proceed in God’s building process. It starts with Nehemiah being told that there was a need.
01:36:39:18 – 01:37:05:00
Unknown
I believe that actually happened here in Pastor Jonathan’s heart with our core team and meeting. It was months ago. Months ago actually. He came and he he said, you know, it’s like he could hear the heart of people crying first from our county. And there was a need, you understand? In Nehemiah’s time, he heard of a need of his people.
01:37:05:08 – 01:37:28:07
Unknown
Secondly, it goes on and he says, and by the way, he not only heard of the need, but he recognized the need. You know, a lot of people hear needs and they go in one ear and out the other. Yeah. And they don’t actually step out to help. Okay. So in the it proceeded with him praying to God.
01:37:28:09 – 01:37:57:17
Unknown
Remember that first thing pray okay. To help meet the need. That’s what Nehemiah did. Like I said, it’s a case study. It’s almost a masterclass on starting stuff. He got the favor with the King and we are waiting, by the way. And I think we already have some of it. But we are waiting on the full favor of our king, not King Jonathan, King Jesus, his favor, his his like total.
01:37:57:18 – 01:38:22:27
Unknown
This is the and we know now we’re entering into that season, but I believe there’s going to come a suddenly of God where all of a sudden you will know this is it. And we’re in a preparation time also during this time. So, so so it goes on. And in the story of Nehemiah, the first thing that happens is that resources and provision were provided to him by the king.
01:38:22:29 – 01:38:44:20
Unknown
Like, that’s just mind boggling to me. I don’t know if you can imagine that some guy here’s some king, by the way, his his water boy and maybe his wine boy. His cup bearer comes and tells him stuff. I mean, you know, if you’re the cupbearer, really, you know, that means, like, maybe you’re testing stuff so the king don’t die.
01:38:44:23 – 01:39:08:04
Unknown
That’s a pretty nasty. That’s a short lived job sometimes, you know, if nobody likes the king. And so he’s a nobody, really, I will know he’s close to the king. Yeah, just like us. We can feel like we’re nobody’s a regular people. Just normal regulars, you know, people. But guess what? You’re next to the king. You are his cupbearer.
01:39:08:06 – 01:39:33:06
Unknown
What? He. Come on. What he’s pouring in you is his life. What he’s pouring in your into your spirit and your soul is actually the the wine of life. And then we represented to God all the time. That’s a big part of what worship is. That’s why you need to be here on Thursday when it starts and why you were here today.
01:39:33:08 – 01:40:04:13
Unknown
We are cup bearers before the Lord, just like Nehemiah was, seems like a very, you know, not important issue. But he gives he. He gets these provisions and provided from the Lord. And there then he proceeds to Jerusalem and he assesses the situation. I’m speaking to our teams that I know are going to be going to assess the situation in our next planting that you’re going down to assess, and that’s in prayer.
01:40:04:15 – 01:40:34:20
Unknown
Yeah. And matter of fact, in the process, I believe the Lord’s going to assess your heart, your soul, how you are toward this planting. Yeah. But we’re also assessing the land, seeing how it looks. Then anemia gathered men. He did the invite thing that Pastor Shelly said, right. Pray invite he gathered, he invited. And who also he gathered men who would work and defends God’s work.
01:40:34:23 – 01:41:01:09
Unknown
Disciples. So yes. Pray invite disciple. Yeah, you’re with me on this. And so we see that Nehemiah was actually sent to restore listen to this a region. He was also sent to restore the Word of God and a people. Or you can read this through the whole, you know, go go ahead and read the 13 chapters on your own and a vision.
01:41:01:11 – 01:41:35:25
Unknown
Listen to, to establish and multiply God’s eternal plan. That’s actually what happened in Jerusalem. All those things, just like I believe every time we start a work or start something in God, that we are all in that process of gathering people, restoring to them hope of who they are bringing to them. Listen, the Word of God, which lives and abides forever.
01:41:35:27 – 01:41:57:18
Unknown
And then to multiply there are going to I’m going to prophesy this. There are going to be people in our next work that will go out from there, that will come in from from outside that place. Come in. Be trained up and discipled and go out and multiply. Am I thinking too big? Oh, okay. I’m good. Because.
01:41:57:20 – 01:42:24:10
Unknown
Yeah. Are you with me on this one? Okay, so as we as a people here in Word of Life fellowship, we have heard of the need here in our local county, but also around the world. We are taking steps to send teams to meet the need of people crying for help. Listen, some of those people, they have no idea how much help they really need.
01:42:24:12 – 01:42:29:06
Unknown
They’re dead.
01:42:29:09 – 01:42:53:01
Unknown
Do you understand the importance of what God’s doing? He’s not just, you know, planting churches. And that’s nice. And we have, you know, chandeliers and we sing together and and just we’re a nice little community, and we get together. No, he’s bringing life to where there’s death. Okay, we’ll keep going. You could get excited about this. It’s all right.
01:42:53:02 – 01:43:14:14
Unknown
It’s okay. So, Yes, but God has given us his Holy Spirit to direct us in establishing works in our county, our state, our nation, and around the world. It’s funny, when I wrote that, I didn’t know that Pastor Shelly was going to actually speak those words almost exactly. That’s good. You’ve been reading my notes. You snuck in and you stuck my.
01:43:14:17 – 01:43:52:12
Unknown
She stole my iPad. Okay, here’s where the power and purpose of presbytery comes into play in the church. First, there’s an impartation that happens. It is the individual. It is to the individual. But to. But for the church this impartation is generally done with the laying on of hands. We heard about this a little earlier. We have like I said, we’ve as the church in general I think has lost sight of the power and the authority and the purpose of the laying on of hands.
01:43:52:15 – 01:44:20:21
Unknown
You we as individuals and as a corporate body, we house the Holy Spirit, right? I believe that’s true from the acts and he and from Jesus telling, you know, he was with you. Now he’s going to be in you. You’re the temple of the living God. So guess what? When that temple, that building walks over and touches something else.
01:44:20:23 – 01:44:47:08
Unknown
That’s the power of the Holy Spirit. It’s the power of God in you that’s able to impart to others. You have to understand that you have this. Oh, they might not cry and fall down under the power. None of that. It might happen. It probably will for some. But that’s not the necessity. The necessity is that they’re touched by the life of Christ.
01:44:47:10 – 01:45:16:02
Unknown
Yeah. And this happens with the laying on of hands with the impart, impart imparting of the spirit shall gifts into our church body, you and the corporate body of the of Christ worldwide. This is what’s happening in this impartation. There’s also this anointing that’s happening with the oil of heaven that gets imparted during this time. Second, there is a commissioning that happens during presbytery commissioning.
01:45:16:02 – 01:45:22:12
Unknown
Listen to this is an appointing to authority.
01:45:22:14 – 01:45:51:01
Unknown
And half of you I lost with that one because you’re like authority. What authority do I have? I think Jesus actually told us and he told his disciples, I give you power and authority. Yeah, we’ll read about this. Okay. There are several accounts of Jesus doing presbytery. Here’s one. It talks about the authority. Matthew 2818 and 19 says, And Jesus came and said to them all.
01:45:51:06 – 01:45:57:19
Unknown
Authorities in heaven and on earth. What did I just say?
01:45:57:22 – 01:46:00:13
Unknown
Where?
01:46:00:15 – 01:46:25:20
Unknown
Oh, wait, not your little sphere, not your little life. Not me with my little limitations. No. All authority in heaven and earth and on earth. We have no idea what God, what Jesus promised us. We live like a little mini me anyway.
01:46:25:24 – 01:46:48:24
Unknown
Yeah, but. Okay. That’s how we live in our soul. And we forget that the God of the universe resides in us. And he gave us power and authority. Come on. Yeah, you can clap for that. That’s good stuff, man. And this is Jesus’s promise. I don’t think I’ve found any place where he lied. All authority in heaven on earth has been given to me.
01:46:49:01 – 01:47:10:07
Unknown
Go therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the father and the son and of the Holy Spirit. Asked one verse eight in the end I says, but you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you. When?
01:47:10:09 – 01:47:34:05
Unknown
Who hears filled the Holy Spirit? There’s a couple of you. Yeah. And here’s the promise that you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you. And you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in Judea and in Samaria, and in all the ends of the earth. You’re going to be my witnesses in me. Walk. You’re going to be my witnesses in twain heart.
01:47:34:05 – 01:47:46:15
Unknown
You’re going to be my witnesses in Jamestown. You’re going to be my witnesses all over the earth. Even in vessel and even in Greece. All parts of everywhere.
01:47:46:18 – 01:48:05:22
Unknown
Okay. That’s why we have his authority. That’s why we receive this power. This authority is to build, to restore, to revive, and sometimes. Listen to this. Raise the dead.
01:48:05:24 – 01:48:25:20
Unknown
That’s what this authority is about. Yeah. That’s good. I see somebody back there waving. That’s a good thing. You’re getting it back there. Usually the back row doesn’t get it. Sometimes the front row doesn’t get it. It’s good. It’s good to know someone got it back there. Just keep waving to me all the way back, okay? Yeah.
01:48:25:24 – 01:49:02:09
Unknown
Okay. So it’s it’s. This is what this authority is about. When you are sent to build, all aspects of the building process must come into play. And this means all the components of the building process must come into play. A wise master builder only sends those who he can trust to build according to plan. And our church will only send people we can trust to build according to the plans, not our plans.
01:49:02:12 – 01:49:30:17
Unknown
His plans. Amen. Pastor Sharon yeah, he does. He doesn’t just send one person to do the job. He sends a team. And that’s what we’re about to do here. By the way, we’re about to send a team. We’re anointing and authorizing and ordaining pastor Jerry. And. But him and his wife and the whole team are going. And it’s essential that the team will go and really bring the life of God with them.
01:49:30:19 – 01:50:01:09
Unknown
They can’t do it alone. And also, it’s essential that we are that are here guarding the stuff. Make sure and ensure that this stuff here stays solid, right. So that we can provide. Yeah, sometimes we lose sight. You know, in this church we don’t preach on tithing and all that kind of stuff. But, you know, our giving here, our tithing is crucial to what’s happening all over the world.
01:50:01:11 – 01:50:28:09
Unknown
It’s crucial. And some and you know, so that’s why when we bring our offering, our tithe, it’s an act of faith. But it’s it’s also it’s you being part of the body of Christ. Like, God doesn’t need your money, but he wants it because he knows where your money is.
01:50:28:11 – 01:50:33:11
Unknown
According to the Bible, that’s where your heart is.
01:50:33:13 – 01:50:55:26
Unknown
Isn’t it? Yeah. Okay. That’s maybe another message. Another day. I just felt like that’s supposed to happen here sometime. So he sends a team, and he uses presbytery in the preparation and equipping process to ready the team. Can you put the chart up that I made? Oh, look at that. I’m probably in the way of some of this.
01:50:55:28 – 01:51:20:27
Unknown
This was strange when the Lord gave me this. He was so funny. He actually. It was several weeks ago. He woke me up with this in my brain. In my mind, I could see it and I’m like, So I went to my computer and found a word processor and started doing this. But this is really presbytery and this is what presbytery, like it says up there, it speaks to.
01:51:21:00 – 01:51:39:11
Unknown
It’s what it empowers. It’s what this is why it’s so critical for us to all be part of this and bring our faith to this. So we see that presbytery speaks to like it says up there, the anointing. It anoints, it activates, it recognizes, it reveals. We’re going to talk a little more about this next thing it imparts.
01:51:39:17 – 01:52:07:09
Unknown
Yes, it validates, confirms and it bestows and commissions. We’ll talk a little bit about that. Also with the grace and power of the following five areas, the presbytery establishes members of the five fold and they are gifts to God to His church. These people are called by the Lord and recognized by the church. That’s this group here, the five fold.
01:52:07:10 – 01:52:27:15
Unknown
I want you to see this anointing, this activation, this authority that comes down. And it actually speaks to places in our church. Some of this you’re very aware of, but the five fold has specific reasons for being in the church. It’s not to be the bosses.
01:52:27:17 – 01:53:07:18
Unknown
Yeah. Are you with me on this? The five fold purpose is to raise up others to the stature of Jesus Christ. The fivefold purpose is actually before to birth, into the church, into the world. Other people much like themselves. Yeah. I’m, I’m I’m challenging those of you who are have been called into one of the fivefold ministries. And you know, that’s the you can see it there the apostle prophets, pastors and teachers and evangelists, that your job doesn’t end with your just a little nice little, you know, I am a prophet.
01:53:07:21 – 01:53:32:27
Unknown
It doesn’t it doesn’t start or end there. It actually you’re required to pour into others, to mature others, to bring up others in the word and in the prophetic. Are you with me that with this the same thing with apostles? If all pastor Pat does is just be a really great apostle all over the world, he will have failed in his assignment and Pastor Celine also.
01:53:33:00 – 01:54:04:07
Unknown
Their job is also to impart and to others here that will be called by the presbytery, be recognized, if you will, by the church, and to impart into them the power and authority and the ability to be apostles. Yes. Okay. All right. There’s a whole teaching on this that I’m going to skip right now. But the presbytery also ordains people to lead in the building apartment.
01:54:04:07 – 01:54:29:05
Unknown
That’s that second area here. And so these people are commissioned by the commissioned by the church. Do you understand what I’m saying? And commissioning, like I said, has an authority or an assignment associated with it to build to build where they are sent? Okay.
01:54:29:07 – 01:55:15:00
Unknown
It’s like when someone’s commissioned in the Army, they’re cannot commission just to do nothing. I don’t even know if we have an A commissioned officer in here. I don’t think we do. But we have people that have served in here, obviously. But commissioned officers, they they are designed to lead. Yes, they have authority to lead. And, this is what the ordination is going to be all about, by the way, next week, when you see it happen here and you’ve seen it happen in the past, this commissioning is actually establishing an authority in an individual’s life, okay, to lead a team, but they are also part of the team.
01:55:15:02 – 01:55:38:20
Unknown
Yeah, they’re not above the team. They’re just designed to lead the team. Yeah, I know this for a fact because I know in our church here you see pastors and here already and although they lead us here, you’ll also see them first in serving.
01:55:38:22 – 01:56:05:29
Unknown
Yeah. They have the authority to lead our church in certain directions when it comes from the Lord. And there I’m going to speak to this personally about our church. I know these people here. They don’t lead us, our church, haphazardly. It’s always done with much prayer and concern and and sometimes trepidation. Right. Because we don’t want to screw it up.
01:56:06:01 – 01:56:35:24

Can we be real about this? I mean, that’s their heart. Their heart is not to be on top. Their heart is to serve and to build up. Okay, we’ll get back to my notes and then we’re almost done here with this. So this commissioning is this ordaining is happening. These people are commissioned by the Lord. This commissioning has like I want to I want to repeat this has authority and assignment associated with it to build where they are sent.

The presbytery also establishes mission. These people are both called by the Lord and sent by the church. So if you’re called into the mission field in any flavor, remember that the church sends people on mission. They do not just go on their own.
01:56:58:17 – 01:57:30:18

You hearing me on this? This is a critical component because sometimes people, they get just a bug in their ear and it’s like I’m yes, I did say a year and they and they, they’re like, I’m gone. What they’re saying is I’m coming out from under the covering of the church and I’m all on my own. We’ve sent pastored Liz and Joe to that’s a long way across that pond.
01:57:30:20 – 01:58:02:17
Unknown
But they didn’t come out from under us. They were sent by us. And because we’re completely locked in heart to heart, spirit to spirit, right? Yeah. We are as indebted to them as they are to us. It’s called relationship. Yeah. So missions sometimes are long term. Sometimes they’re short term. All this all missions are designed to build. It’s that sending to build the presbytery also establishes spiritual gifts.
01:58:02:17 – 01:58:30:15

These gifts are imparted to people as the Holy Spirit sees fit. Did you hear what I said? It’s not as we see fit. It’s not because, you know, pastor Bob really likes that guy, so he’s going to know it doesn’t work that way. And by the way, those gifts are then validated by the church. Yeah. That’s you. Okay.
01:58:30:17 – 01:59:07:12

The presbytery brings the true power and working. Okay. And working of exhortation into individuals and teams. People are pressed to move forward in their lives. And this is that last thing here. Exhortation. The presbytery, you will find, also brings power. And working of exhortation into individuals. People are pressed to move forward in their lives and see what they what may unfold in their future.
01:59:07:15 – 01:59:32:04

So I don’t want to minimize this just because I have it at the end of the chart. Exhortation is critical in the presbytery because it’s really a pointing forward to where you’re going to go. This is why, by the way, when we talk about when we prophesy, we prophesy, prophesy, comfort and edification. And what exhortation I always tell our province.
01:59:32:06 – 01:59:57:07
Unknown
Be careful in the exhortation, because it tends to lead into pointing forward to something. So you will find in our prophetic presbytery there’s going to be exhortation. There’s going to be a pointing and a moving and empowering forward in your life. This is critical. Yeah. Are you with me on this? Okay. And so I hope that we impressed you into your belief system.
01:59:57:08 – 02:00:11:12

I hope I’ve impressed. The essential of presbytery. Because I don’t want to keep you here all day. It’s 12:00, and you all have better things to do.
02:00:11:14 – 02:00:23:14

Yes. Absolutely. You can get a copy of that. Have a special copy just for you. I’m going to make a printed copy for you.

She thinks I’m lying. I have it right here. See me after. I’m. I’m going to walk down in a couple of seconds and we’re done here. Yeah. So I hope I’ve impressed upon you. The essential importance of presbytery lives get directed and aligned with God’s purposes and plans for both you as an individual and us as a corporate body.

That we would come, Father God, with not just an excitement, father, but an anticipation of you, of what you’re doing in our times. And, father, we just thank you, God. A big part of the body of Christ is we get to come together and celebrate these moments in each other’s lives that are so meaningful and, you know, doing the cleanup with people yesterday, watching the the people serve and provide the hospitality and just make it such a special event is so wonderful. And I just want to thank you guys for that.

And so praise Jesus church. We’re doing great things with God and with one another. So let’s keep it up. Let’s get out of here.
Sent to Build
Pastor Bob Wilk
God is building His Church, but He is not building it with spectators.
He is building with people.
Ordinary people. Imperfect people. People who sometimes feel limited, afraid, uncertain, or unqualified—but people who have been filled with the life of Christ and called to carry that life into the earth.
Pastor Bob Wilk continued the His Church: Under Construction series with a message called Sent to Build, reminding us that every believer has a place in what God is doing.
The enemy would love to convince us otherwise.
If he can persuade us that the corporate life of the Church can move forward without us, he can begin to isolate us from the very body God is building. But Scripture does not present the Church as a collection of unnecessary parts.
Every joint supplies.
Every believer matters.
And every person who has received the life of Christ has something to carry.
Pastor Bob put it plainly: God wants His people to know that “you have a part.” 10182026
You Do Not Have to Glow
Sometimes we imagine that being used by God must look extraordinary.
We expect bright lights. Dramatic moments. A supernatural feeling that makes us suddenly feel qualified for everything God has called us to do.
But Jesus spent almost all of His earthly life looking like an ordinary man.
Pastor Bob pointed to the Mount of Transfiguration as the rare moment when Jesus visibly shone. The rest of the time, He walked among people naturally while living with extraordinary faith and obedience.
That gives us an important picture of how God wants to work through us.
We do not need to become abnormal.
We can be supernaturally natural.
God can use us right where we are, even with our limitations, fears, questions, and concerns.
The call is not to manufacture something impressive.
The call is to trust Him.
A mustard seed of faith is enough to take the next step.
Pastor Bob challenged those who feel buried beneath thoughts of inadequacy to come out of that grave. We are not made righteous because we finally became impressive enough for God.
We were made righteous through the blood of Jesus Christ.
And from that place of grace, God gives us the ability to take the next normal step that can bring supernatural reality into the earth. 10182026
The Message of Life Has Been Entrusted to You
Why is Jesus building His Church?
Pastor Bob returned to one of the central themes of the series:
Life.
Jesus is building His Church so that the life of God prevails over death.
That message of life has been carried through generations of this house, but it was never meant to remain only in the hands of pastors or leaders.
It has been deposited into the people.
Pastor Bob gave a striking example: if everyone else disappeared and only one believer remained, that person would still have the responsibility to carry the message of life they had received.
That is how seriously we should understand what God has placed within us.
John 17:3 describes eternal life as knowing the only true God and Jesus Christ whom He sent.
The DNA of the Gospel has been placed in believers so that it can be passed on.
This is why pray, invite, disciple, and multiply cannot simply become a church slogan.
It is an assignment to the whole Body of Christ.
We pray.
We invite people into relationship with Jesus.
We disciple them.
And then we help them multiply that same life into others. 10182026
You Are Part of the Building
First Corinthians 3:9 says:
“For we are God’s fellow workers; you are God’s field, you are God’s building.”
God is building people.
And He calls us His fellow workers.
That means we are not simply the construction project. We also participate with Him in building others.
But the foundation can never change.
Jesus Christ is the foundation and the cornerstone.
Everything we build must remain aligned with Him.
Pastor Bob emphasized that we are sent to distribute Jesus’ DNA.
For some believers, that idea can feel intimidating because we are still so aware of our own weaknesses.
But if we have been born again through the Word of God, there is something incorruptible God has placed within us.
We carry hope.
That is why we must know what God has done in us.
We do not have to have every answer or have the entire Bible memorized before we speak to someone about Jesus.
But we should be able to give an answer for the hope that lies within us.
Not the hope in someone else.
Not the pastor’s testimony.
Not another believer’s revelation.
What has Jesus done in you?
That personal hope becomes part of what God uses to build others. 10182026
Nehemiah: A Picture of Being Sent to Build
Pastor Bob turned to Nehemiah as a biblical case study in how God builds.
Nehemiah first heard about a need.
But hearing was not enough.
He recognized the need and allowed it to affect him.
Then he prayed.
Before strategy, before construction, before gathering a team, there was prayer.
From that place, God provided favor, provision, resources, and direction.
Nehemiah then went to Jerusalem and assessed the situation.
He gathered people.
He invited them into the work.
And together, they began to rebuild.
The pattern echoes the calling Pastor Shelly has emphasized throughout the series:
Pray. Invite. Disciple. Multiply.
Nehemiah was not simply repairing damaged stone.
He was participating in the restoration of a region, a people, the Word of God, and a vision.
In the same way, when the Church is sent into a community, the goal is not merely to establish another meeting location.
The goal is restoration.
The goal is to bring the hope of Christ to people.
The goal is to disciple them in the Word.
And eventually, those who have been restored become people who are sent themselves.
God is not simply planting churches.
He is bringing life where there has been death. 10182026
The Power of Impartation
That brings us to the importance of presbytery.
Pastor Bob described presbytery as part of God’s building process—an opportunity for impartation, recognition, activation, confirmation, commissioning, and sending.
One of the biblical practices connected to this is the laying on of hands.
Why does that matter?
Because believers are temples of the Holy Spirit.
God Himself dwells within His people.
When believers lay hands upon someone in obedience and faith, the significance is not merely in the physical gesture.
It is about the life of Christ being ministered through His Body.
The purpose is not necessarily a dramatic outward reaction.
The purpose is that people are touched by the life of Christ.
Spiritual gifts are not given so that an individual can feel important.
They are given for others.
Healing is for people who need healing.
Prophetic gifts are meant to build others.
Leadership is meant to serve.
The gifts Christ places within His Body are for the building and maturing of His Church. 10182026 10182026
Authority Is Given So We Can Go
Presbytery also involves commissioning.
Pastor Bob described commissioning as an appointment to authority.
For many believers, the word authority can feel intimidating.
We see ourselves through our limitations.
Jesus sees what He has placed within us.
In Matthew 28, Jesus declared:
“All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples…”
In Acts 1:8, He promised:
“You shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses…”
Authority is not given so we can become impressive.
It is given for mission.
Pastor Bob said that this authority is given “to build, to restore, to revive,” and even to confront places where death has ruled.
The God of the universe resides in His people.
The question is whether we will live aware of what He has given us. 10182026
God Sends Teams
A wise builder does not send workers without a plan.
And God does not build His Church through isolated individuals determined to create something for themselves.
He sends people together.
Pastor Bob emphasized that those who are sent must build according to His plans, not their own.
This is particularly significant as Word of Life prepares to send a team into a new church plant.
One person cannot carry everything.
The Church sends teams.
Leaders are commissioned to lead, but they remain part of the team.
They are not above the Body.
Their authority is expressed through service.
This is also why mission is relational.
People are called by the Lord and sent by the Church.
Pastor Bob pointed to those who have been sent from Word of Life to other places. Though they may be geographically far away, they have not disconnected themselves from the Body.
They remain joined through relationship.
That is what healthy sending looks like. 10182026 10182026
Fivefold Ministry Is Meant to Build Others
Pastor Bob also challenged those called into fivefold ministry.
Apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers are not given to the Church simply to carry titles.
Their assignment is to equip and reproduce.
A prophet should help others mature prophetically.
A teacher should raise people who understand and carry the Word.
An apostle should equip others to build and be sent.
A pastor should mature people into the image of Christ.
The goal of fivefold ministry is not to create dependence upon gifted leaders.
The goal is to raise the whole Body toward the stature of Jesus Christ.
That is multiplication.
The ministry gift should reproduce something of the life and grace God has placed within that person into others. 10182026
You Are Sent to Build
The message eventually comes back to us.
You are not unnecessary.
You are not excluded.
You do not have to glow.
You do not have to possess spectacular gifts before God can begin using you.
You need to know Jesus.
You need to know the hope He has placed within you.
You need to remain connected to His Body.
And you need the faith to take the next step.
God is building His Church into a holy temple filled with His presence and purpose.
And He has called us into that work.
We pray.
We invite.
We disciple.
We multiply.
We build on Christ alone.
And when the time comes, we are sent to build.
Discussion Guide
Short Summary
Icebreakers
- Have you ever felt unqualified for something you later discovered you were actually capable of doing?
- Who has invested something into your life that you now find yourself passing on to others?
- When you hear the phrase “supernaturally natural,” what do you think it means?
Discussion Questions
1. Pastor Bob emphasized that every person has a part in the Body of Christ.
Why is isolation so dangerous to our understanding of who we are and what God has called us to do?
2. What does it mean to be “supernaturally natural”?
How does Jesus’ earthly life challenge the idea that being used by God always has to look dramatic?
3. Pastor Bob said that if everyone else disappeared, each believer would still be responsible for the message of life God placed within them.
What has God deposited in you that you are responsible to carry and share?
4. Read 1 Corinthians 3:9–11.
What does it mean that we are both God’s building and His fellow workers? How can we make sure what we build remains aligned with Christ as the foundation?
5. Nehemiah heard a need, prayed, received direction, gathered people, and began building.
Which part of that pattern—pray, invite, disciple, multiply—is God emphasizing in your life right now?
6. Pastor Bob taught that spiritual gifts and impartation are given for others.
How does that change the way we should think about spiritual gifts, leadership, prophecy, healing, or ministry?
7. “Called by the Lord and sent by the Church.”
Why are relationship, accountability, and teamwork important when God sends people into ministry? What is the difference between being sent and simply going on our own?
Closing Prayer
Father, thank You that You have given each of us a place in Your Body.
Help us reject every lie that tells us we are unnecessary, unqualified, or disconnected from what You are doing. Teach us to see ourselves through what Jesus has accomplished rather than through our limitations.
Make us supernaturally natural—ordinary people filled with extraordinary faith in You.
Help us know the hope You have placed within us and give us courage to share it. Teach us to pray, invite, disciple, and multiply.
Equip Your Church through every gift You have given. Let leaders serve faithfully, let gifts build others, and let every member supply what You have placed within them.
Give us wisdom to build only upon Jesus Christ and according to Your plans.
And when You say go, give us the faith to be sent.
Use us to build, restore, revive, and carry Your life into places where there has been death.
In Jesus’ name, amen.
