By Apostle Pat McDonald
This message teaches that the Kingdom of God begins small but grows with unstoppable power when it is received with an open and teachable heart. Using Jesus’ parables of the sower, the mustard seed, and yeast, we are reminded that growth is God’s work, but participation is our choice. The condition of our hearts determines whether the Word produces fruit. As we remain planted, continue steadfastly, and trust God’s process, His Kingdom grows in us and through us—impacting lives, communities, and generations.

And an amen of some holy water. Yeah. Okay, good. All right. Hallelujah. Praise God. The kingdom of God starts small, works quietly, but it grows into unstoppable influence. It transforms the world around us and everyone who receives it. I like with you everybody said the word of the hour. Receive.
01:14:26:29 – 01:14:54:21
But again, we get to choose. We get to choose to be a part of this. God is sovereign. His power is unlimited. But he designed from the beginning to give the human race a free choice. We have to. We get to. But we have to choose. Do we want to be a part of the unstoppable growth of the Kingdom of God?
01:14:54:23 – 01:15:22:02
Let’s pray. Father, in the name of Jesus. Thank you for the opportunity to be home, to be back with my family, Lord. Thank you for the opportunity to share your word. I ask that you will anoint the words, anoint the lips so that I’ll say what you want said. So we’ll here and go and do and be who you have designed and called us to go, be and do in the name of Jesus.
01:15:22:02 – 01:15:56:29
We praise and thank you. Amen and amen. Jesus taught on the church, taught on the Kingdom of God, taught on the church. Inseparable. And he predicted that the church would come. He used this term ecclesia in the Greek, a word that was predominantly, at that time, a description of political functions. The people called out actually the people elected by the citizens to rise, to lead, to govern.
01:15:57:02 – 01:16:25:07
He said, I’m going to build my church, and the gates of hell will not prevail against it. In acts two, Jesus from heaven, by the power of the Holy Spirit, launched his church. He sent his Holy Spirit. They were saved. They were baptized in the Holy Ghost and received a brand new spirit. And at the same moment, they were filled with the Holy Ghost speaking at other tongues.
01:16:25:09 – 01:16:52:25
And these these people were there were off scouring. There were refugees. Their leader had just been captured and been executed. They were in hiding. But because of this new power, noone nature out into the street. They. When Peter stood up and preached and 3000 were saved. We don’t know how many were there, but there were at least 3000.
01:16:52:28 – 01:16:56:08
Obviously. Pretty good service.
01:16:56:10 – 01:17:32:21
The writer of acts, the faithful doctor, Luke, he said in chapter two, verse 42, describing the attitudes and the behaviors of this new thing called the church. He says they continued steadfastly. That was their attitude. That was their heart. That was the passion. They continued. He wasn’t a flash in the pan. It wasn’t just a good service. We got 3000 and saved and go on about life.
01:17:32:23 – 01:18:12:16
They continued and steadfastly in the apostles doctrine and in fellowship and breaking of bread. More than just communion. Lifestyle in prayer. That word is also described as worship. These three behavior patterns, lifestyles, arenas of activity is what defines the church and the functioning of the called out ones. And they did this not just once, not just on Christmas and Easter.
01:18:12:18 – 01:18:41:05
They continued steadfastly in these things. Today I’m going to do a little bit of apostolic teaching. And again, I want to really make it clear that I was jazzed, but I was really thrilled by Jeremiah’s message on Sunday. I’m going to go through some of it again. It’s not to correct anything. It’s to share what we got from pastor Tom shore.
01:18:41:08 – 01:18:58:27
A clarity is something that just felt compelled when I was listening to JT to say to share. So let’s let’s jump into it. Matthew 13, starting with verse one, Jesus went out of the house and he sat by the sea.
01:18:58:29 – 01:19:15:18
But because great multitudes came and couldn’t see him, because he was sitting down, he got up and he sat on the edge of the boat. And was that bitter? You know. Okay. And the whole multitude stood on the shore. Please don’t stand.
01:19:15:20 – 01:19:40:13
He began to speak many things with him in parables. Behold a sower a farmer went out to to sow, to to scatter seed. Some fell on the wayside. A foot path. Birds came and devoured them. Some on stony places where they didn’t have much earth. Shallow soil.
01:19:40:15 – 01:20:09:09
And immediately they sprang up. But they had no depth in their shallow soil. So when the sun was up, they were scorched, and because they had no root, they withered. Some fell among thorns. Thorns sprang up and choked them, but others fell on good ground, on fertile soil yielded a crop some 100 fold, some 60, some 30 fold.
01:20:09:11 – 01:20:37:24
He who has ears to hear, let him hear. Now, I really want you to listen to this next set of verses. Starting with verse ten, the disciples came and said to him, what? Why do you speak to them in parables? He answered, and he said, because it is given to know, given to you to know the mysteries of the kingdom, but to them it has not been given.
01:20:37:26 – 01:21:05:18
At 20 years old, fresh out of the world, still spaced out from the stuff I inhaled and imbibed. Tore up from the floor. Up. I didn’t get this. This seemed unfair. Seemed prejudiced and biased. He answered, and he said in them. Because it’s been given to you to know the mysteries of the kingdom. But not. But to them it’s not been given.
01:21:05:19 – 01:21:33:04
Verse 12, for whoever has to him more will be given. And he with abundance, and he will have abundance. But whoever does not have even what he has will be taken from him. Men. As a young liberal progressive, mad at the system. It looked like that’s what was happening. The haves and the have nots. The haves get more.
01:21:33:06 – 01:22:02:15
The have nots get taken what they have. Who wants to follow this Jesus guy? Say the least. I struggled. Verse 13, therefore I speak to you. Speak to them in parables, because seeing they do not see, hearing, they do not hear, nor do they understand. It’s like I said, for many of us it sounded like God was being unfair, unjust.
01:22:02:18 – 01:22:18:07
But that’s not the case at all. I want to say that again. That’s not the case. Our God is not unjust. Jesus is not unfair. He is not biased or prejudiced.
01:22:18:09 – 01:22:45:04
Pastor Tom, sure, like I said, spent several weeks in series teaching it. The depths of this understanding the passions. Translation. Almost like the guy took her notes. Let me read that to you. Verse 11 through 13, he explained. You’ve been given the intimate experience of insight into the hidden mysteries of the realm of heaven’s kingdom, but they have not.
01:22:45:06 – 01:23:19:25
Now verse 12 is a key for everyone. Everybody say everyone. Say it louder. For everyone who listens to everyone who listens with an open heart will receive. That’s the difference. It’s not where they’ve been given. Are they listening? Anybody here ever experience that? You’re talking and people are looking at you. They may even be nodding their head, but they ain’t listening.
01:23:19:28 – 01:23:31:25
I’ve done that a few times. Just ask my daughter or ask my wife. Don’t ask my son.
01:23:31:27 – 01:24:09:28
Everyone who listens with an open heart will receive and receive progressively. Isn’t that what you’ve experienced? What you. What you heard last week? God adds on through the week with your study, your prayer, your teaching. Come back next week. It’s being added on. It’s a it’s a it’s a progression. Everyone who listens with an open heart will receive progressively more revelation until he has more than enough.
01:24:10:01 – 01:24:35:19
But those who don’t listen, don’t listen with an open, teachable heart. Men I I’ve done a lot of talking to people, and they’re not really listening to hear what I have to say. They’re just waiting their turn to argue God and then they’re just waiting for me to stop talking so that they can bless me with their opinion.
01:24:35:21 – 01:24:42:06
I know that so well because I’ve done that a lot.
01:24:42:08 – 01:25:12:12
That’s the secret. Those who don’t listen with an open, with an open, teachable heart. Even the understanding they think they have will be taken from them. Yeah, the dumb get dumber. I’m so glad God delivered me, because I would probably be the dumbest person on the planet at this point, had he not delivered me and set me free.
01:25:12:15 – 01:25:40:12
Unknown
Verse 13. That’s why I teach the people using parables. Because they. Because they think they’re looking for the truth. Yet because their hearts are unteachable, they never get it. I mean, let me explain it to you again, okay. Explain it again. They’re still not getting it. Why? Because they’re not listening. Their hearts aren’t open. Their hearts aren’t teachable.
01:25:40:14 – 01:26:06:20

Although they listen to me. They never fully perceive the message I speak. I want to make it really clear. We choose to listen. Yes. Can’t blame anybody else. Can’t blame my parents. Can’t blame my spouse. Can’t even blame my kids. I choose to listen or not.
01:26:06:22 – 01:26:45:01
Unknown
We have the choice. God gave every human born the choice. And we choose to have or not have an open, teachable heart. I want to say it again. Everyone who listens with an open heart will receive everyone equal. No bias, no prejudice. Our God, our father is not unjust. Amen. Am I right? You didn’t sound very convincing with your Amen.
01:26:45:04 – 01:26:49:13
Unknown
Our father is not unjust.
01:26:49:15 – 01:27:30:13

He’s not unfair. He’s not playing favorites. Our God is ever loving and loving every one. Period. And everyone who listens to his word, to his servants, to his spirit receives everyone. Amen. And it’s getting good. That’s right. God doesn’t prefer any group of humans. He just prefers humans. Name your group. He doesn’t prefer it. Old. Young c young people.
01:27:30:19 – 01:28:10:13
Unknown
God doesn’t prefer you. He doesn’t mind old people. Male. Female. And there’s no in between. Whatever nationality, whatever color on the spectrum. He loves them all. And there’s no favorites played from the God of heaven. He gives us the choice. He gives us the truth. He gives us life. We choose whether we’re going to listen to him or try to convince him of the rightness of our opinions.
01:28:10:15 – 01:28:49:18
Unknown
We choose. Receiving only depends on whether or not you have an open heart. And parables are designed to simplify deep truths so that everybody can understand it. If they have an open heart. Going on Matthew 13, verse 14, and in then the people who ain’t listening, and in then the prophecy of Isaiah is fulfilled, which is hearing you will hear and shall not understand.
01:28:49:25 – 01:29:32:01

Seeing you will see and and not perceive. For the hearts of this people have grown dull. They’ve got it all together. They have their answers. They know what they want. They know what they don’t want. For the hearts of this, people have grown dull. Their ears are hard of hearing. Their eyes have been closed. They have closed them lest they should see with their eyes, hear with their ears, lest they should understand with their hearts and turn so that I should heal them.
01:29:32:03 – 01:29:50:26

This doesn’t describe God having bias or prejudice. Is describing that man has a choice, and is describing some of the dumb choices men and women make to not listen.

Matthew 13, verse 16 and 17 out of the NLT.

But blessed are your eyes. Blessed are your ears. They see, they hear. I tell you the truth. Many prophets and righteous people longed over the centuries, over the millenia long to see and experience what we get to see.

Again, this doesn’t declare anybody is more important, more valuable. But it does declare what is right. To come to Jesus with an open heart. He doesn’t say, Come to Jesus with your list of good deeds. It doesn’t say, Come to Jesus, never having sinned. Having no hurts, habits or hang ups. He takes all of us that come with an open heart.
01:30:55:18 – 01:31:12:26

You see a lot of brothers and sisters here today that have never been here before. We welcome you. Think of do we have some folks from the lakes today? Yeah. Yeah. Come on. Put your hands together. Whoo!
01:31:12:28 – 01:31:35:16
Unknown
This is what’s good to come together with an open heart. It does declare what’s right. It does declare and acknowledge the right choice of those who’ve opened their hearts, turned their ears. Repentance. Thank you. Jared. I think that was a great message. I can’t say it enough.
01:31:35:19 – 01:31:53:04

Matthew 13, verse 18. Now listen to the explanation of the parable. But the farmer planting seeds, the seed that fell on the footpath, represents those who hear the message about the kingdom and don’t get it.
01:31:53:06 – 01:32:21:15
Unknown
Remember, the seed is the message. The soil. That’s us. The condition represents us. And I love that. The four conditions of the heart from last week. That was great. The evil one comes and snatches away the seed that was planted in their hearts. The seed on the rocky soil represents those who hear the message immediately. Receive it with joy.
01:32:21:17 – 01:32:48:20
Unknown
But they fall away as soon as they have problems or are persecuted for believing God’s Word. We see that all the time. People come to the church. They’re excited. They got a touch from God. There was a deliverance, a prophecy. They got baptized. They’re rejoicing, but they don’t have any roots in them. Still a choice. Once we start, we don’t stop.
01:32:48:22 – 01:33:24:11
Unknown
Like I said, we continue steadfastly in the apostles doctrine. Let the Word of God go in you, so that you can put your roots down deep, so that when struggles come, troubles, persecution, illness, sadness, loss, grief, when struggles come, your roots are deep and you can weather the storm. That’s good. We’re going to talk in a few minutes about a couple of trees and the two trees.
01:33:24:11 – 01:34:02:29
Unknown
We’re talking about. The mustard tree and the redwood tree. They’re unique, even though they’re not quite the same. They’re unique and not unique, but uncommon amongst many of the trees. They don’t try to put their roots down so deep. They put their roots out far and intertwine with all the rest of the redwood trees, or all the rest of the of the mustard trees, so that when the weather hits and the struggles come, they’re hanging on to one another.
01:34:03:02 – 01:34:06:26
Unknown
We measure our.
01:34:06:28 – 01:34:31:06
Unknown
The seed on the rocky soil represents those. They hear the message, receive it with joy. But they don’t have deep roots. They didn’t choose to put their roots down deep. It wasn’t like, oh, I got cursed to be on dirt. On dirt that had too many rocks in it. No, no, no. You don’t have to go and put your roots tried to.
01:34:31:06 – 01:34:37:10
Unknown
And rocks. We have choices.
01:34:37:13 – 01:35:05:20
Unknown
They fell away as soon as problems came. Or persecuted for believing. But God’s word. Verse 22. The seed that fell among the thorns represent those who hear God’s word. But all too quickly the message is crowded out by the worries of this life, the lure of wealth. So no fruit is produced. I want to point out. It doesn’t say they died.
01:35:05:22 – 01:35:25:15
Unknown
They just weren’t healthy enough to produce fruit. We see churches full of people who won’t bear fruit. They’ve gotten saved. They love Jesus being their savior, but they haven’t yet asked him to be their Lord.
01:35:25:17 – 01:35:52:20
Unknown
They haven’t dedicated their life to living by his lifestyle and his ways. I’m a Christian. I receive Jesus. That’s fabulous. You’re not going to spend an eternity in hell. You’re going to go to heaven when you die. But you’re missing out on an incredible life right now. You’re missing out on the opportunity to be amongst God’s representatives, to bring the kingdom to earth.
01:35:52:20 – 01:36:24:17
Unknown
As you live. Yes. That’s right. The worries of life, the lure of wealth. The. The succulent flavor of the world has caused us to just keep Jesus in his Savior box and not let him into my life as my Lord. They’re alive, but they do not bear fruit. But wait. Wait a minute. I go to church and. And I don’t swear on cuss.
01:36:24:17 – 01:36:27:13
Unknown
I don’t smoke dope.
01:36:27:16 – 01:36:38:17

That’s. That’s good. What about the way you treat your employees? What about the way you treat your kids and your wife?
01:36:38:19 – 01:36:44:02
Unknown
What about the way nobody can count on you? Because you have a tendency to lie?
01:36:44:04 – 01:37:19:05
Unknown
Or one way in church and another out there. No fruit. Verse 23. The seed that fell on good soil represents those with open hearts. Teachable hearts truly hear and understand God’s Word. They produced a harvest of 3060 and, even 100 times as much as was planted. The seed is the word. The soil is us, and we have the choice to open it and be teachable.
01:37:19:08 – 01:37:38:13
Unknown
Or to close it. And the consequences are not God’s fault. Did you hear me? The consequences are not God’s fault. We can’t blame him. Can’t blame our parents. Can’t blame our wife. Can’t blame her husband. Can’t blame our kids.
01:37:38:16 – 01:38:11:03
Unknown
But blessed are your eyes. And blessed are your ears. Because you have come with an open, teachable heart. You have let him in. You have embraced the messages of life, and your life has changed. Your life is different. Your life is different today. You’re responding to the hardest things in life in a way that makes heaven proud. Today, and we’re proud of you too.
01:38:11:05 – 01:38:28:14
Unknown
That’s the difference. The question, the challenge. Will we have open hearts? Will we continue to have open hearts?
01:38:28:16 – 01:38:34:06

I’ll go into my assignment today. I’ve got a few minutes.

Skipping over to verse 31 in chapter 13. A couple more parables.

Reading out of the King, new King James. Jesus spoke another parable. He put forth to them, saying, the kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and sowed in his field.
01:38:59:08 – 01:39:27:23
Unknown
Which indeed is the least of all the seeds. But when it is grown, it’s greater than all the other herbs. It literally becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and nest in its branches. Verse 33, another parable. He spoke to them, the kingdom of heaven is like leaven. Now what’s a modern term for 11?
01:39:27:26 – 01:39:31:11
Unknown
Yeast? That’s right.
01:39:31:14 – 01:40:18:16
Unknown
The kingdom of heaven is like yeast, which a woman took and hid or blended, stirred, needed into three measures of meal until it was all leavened. She blended it until it was all leavened. We’re talking about in this part of my message, we’re talking about in this parable. We’re talking about the smallest of beginnings coupled with God’s unstoppable growth produces amazingly large things.
01:40:18:19 – 01:40:24:05
Unknown
Amazingly large things.
01:40:24:07 – 01:40:30:28
Unknown
This parable is talking about you.
01:40:31:00 – 01:41:06:26
Unknown
About you and about your part in the Kingdom of God. It’s talking about how things start out small and they grow. Zechariah chapter four, verse ten. Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin. We got a chance to minister to a powerful church last Sunday. There were small. There were struggling with the concept.
01:41:06:28 – 01:41:30:24
Unknown
On several occasions they apologized to us for smallness, and all we saw was a huge church. All we saw was their future. All we saw was what God was going to do with these open hearts in this amazing season. Man and woman of God and the prophets that are just waiting to rise. The teachers, we were impressed and they kept God.
01:41:30:24 – 01:41:45:24
Unknown
Really? I’m saying yeah, really, because they coupled their start with the unstoppable growth of God.
01:41:45:26 – 01:42:15:08
Unknown
And God rejoices to see the work begin. Jeremiah 17, verse seven and eight in the New Living Translation. Blessed are those who trust in the Lord and have made the Lord their hope and their confidence. They’re like trees planted along a riverbank, with roots that reach deep into the water, spread out into the water. Such trees are not bothered by heat.
01:42:15:11 – 01:42:50:13
Unknown
They’re not worried by long months of drought. Their leaves stay green and they never stop producing fruit. They’re alive and healthy enough to produce fruit. But you know what? Those trees didn’t just show up. Snap! They started as seeds. They started as seeds. And they came up a little at a time. At first they were so small, they probably would have been mistaken for weeds, but they kept at it.
01:42:50:15 – 01:43:05:09
Unknown
They didn’t quit. They kept drinking from the water. Receiving from the nutrients of the soil. They grew. They never quit. The scriptures make it sound like it just happened.
01:43:05:11 – 01:43:26:07
Unknown
It was a result of a process of growth coupled with the unstoppable growth of God. That’s you. That’s your part of the kingdom of God. That’s what’s happening in your life today.
01:43:26:09 – 01:43:58:29

Psalms one verse one, two and three. Blessed is the man and woman. Blessed is the man and woman who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor do they stand in the paths of sinners. Verse three. They shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water that brings forth fruit in its season, whose leaf shall not wither, and whatever they do will prosper.
01:43:59:02 – 01:44:24:27
Unknown
How many would like? How many would like it, that anything and everything I do prospers? That doesn’t just happen. It will happen to you as you do the first part. It’s our choice. We can’t look at people who are prospering and people are not. And saying, that’s not fair. They’re prospering. They’re not. You’re not any better than them.
01:44:24:29 – 01:44:57:21

That’s what the enemy does. That is the core of class warfare that is happening in our nation. Happening the nations of the world to pit one group against another as if they’re favored or not. There are inequities. There are. There is prejudice. There is wickedness. But God has given us a freedom. He has set us free from that fallacy of warfare amongst the classes.
01:44:57:23 – 01:45:24:04
Unknown
If we will walk with God, we will choose God. He will ultimately bring us to that place where everything I do will prosper, and then we can be a part of setting those prejudices straight in the world in which we live. We can be a part of bringing the Kingdom of God to Tuolumne County, to California, even California.
01:45:24:07 – 01:46:00:25
Unknown
This is to the United States, to the rest of the world, and set straight those prejudices, those biases, that wickedness. That’s not God’s plan. It’s never been God’s plan. And he’s looking for somebody who will represent him on this earth. Amen. Yea, whatsoever he does shall prosper. That’s you. That’s your choice. That’s your opportunity. John 15 five Jesus said, I am the vine and you are the branches.

If you will remain in me, excuse me. Those who remain in me and I in them, they will produce my fruit. Do you want fruit? Then abide in him. Come to him with an open heart. With a teachable heart. These parables.

These scriptures are describing the principle of growth found throughout the world. The principle of God and His kingdom. That big things started out small. All life begins in the hidden smallness.

At the level of conception, often microscopic, unseen, when given what it needs, that life does not strive to grow, it just does. It just grows from the smallest beginning. It unfolds naturally into something far greater. This is the definition of growth. This is God’s enduring principle of life. Long about the 19 early 1940s in Charlotte, North Carolina, and an evangelist at the time and in that region was well known.

Not much happened here. But what happened, which was microscopic, which was unseen, even by the likes of a great man like Mordecai Lamb, was the beginning of something immense. That was the day when Billy Graham came forward on the altar call and got saved. People in that crowd. Hey, not much happened here.

Those small things can become huge. When we couple ourselves with the unstoppable growth of God. So don’t judge the outcome. By the beginning. Don’t judge your outcome by what you see today because God has big plans for you. He has a plan and you are a part of it. All we have to do is not quit. And his plan includes a whole bunch of stuff called Grace.
01:48:44:27 – 01:48:55:29

A whole bunch of stuff called mercy. Grace. Getting what we don’t deserve. Mercy not getting what we clearly deserve.

This plan is for you to grow from the beginning in the small to something very impactful, something that changes everything around you and everything that reaches out and touches. If we choose, if we’ll continue to choose to be a part of God’s enduring principle, God’s unstoppable growth will work through us. Yes, there are failures. Yes, there are detours.

Yes, sir. Weaknesses that surface. I’ve been talking about other people’s weaknesses. Our weaknesses included. A lot of those seeds that were scattered did not make it to good ground. But I’m here to tell you, it’s our choice. And today we can pick up where we are, no matter where we are. And we can make that choice once again.
01:49:55:09 – 01:50:18:24

We can say, Lord, I’m done. With a closed ear. I’m opening it to you today. I’m done. About promoting my idea. I want to hear your ideas. I want to know what you have for my life. If we’ll choose, we’ll be a part of that unstoppable growth of God.

But if. If someone actually blends the yeast into their flour and they continue to blend, the bread will rise. It’s going to happen. The yeast. Yeast is alive. Did you know that? It’s a one. A single celled life form. It’s. It’s a fungus. When it has what it needs, when it has warmth, when it has moisture, when it has food, it becomes active.
01:50:49:28 – 01:51:26:15

And boy, it is active fast and it grows and reproduces. A tiny amount of yeast can affect a large amount of dough in a very short period of time. This and this. It multiplies rapidly, spreads invisibly, and works from the inside out. Sound a little bit like Christianity. When actually when someone actually sows mustard seeds, it will grow.

If they get what they need, they get the moisture, the nutrients, the sunlight, it will grow. It will become a large mustard plant. It’s a principle of growth. It starts small, gets big. That’s what this unstoppable growth is all about. It starts in that same hidden smallness, that microscopic, unseen conception. But when given everything it needs, it will grow.

I don’t even know if we have any growing of mustard seeds in our neighborhood here. But we do have redwoods and pine trees. So let’s see. Mustard seed. Do you have a picture back here?

Don’t judge the it. We get it. Hey. Yeah. Say hi to Henry Mugisha. Yeah. Don’t judge the end by the beginning. The Lord knows how to grow the seed in the trees. We need to stay blended. We need to continue steadfastly. 57 years ago this May, a couple of handfuls of believers began to see the future. It’s not a question of whether or not there will be growth. It’s a question as to whether we’ll be a part of it, because we have the choice. Your whole. If you’ve been holding back the altar call earlier. Don’t hold back. Let your father grab hold of you. Let him begin that growth process. Because what he begins, he’s going to finish. And I hope that we’ll even go back and review this word, because this is something we need to meditate on. If you’re a Christian, if you’re here in this house, maybe you just came to the faith.

Where can you set your root? Is it going to be baptism class? Is it going to be CR. Is it going to be a life group? Is it going to be coming and talking to myself or pastor Pat, or Pastor Shallow or Pastor Jonathan? And to make sure that your roots are intertwining with other roots, because we could hear apostolic teaching and say, well, that was pretty good, and not receive it with an open heart, or we could act on it and we could begin to move into that fullness.

So I would challenge you to do that at the end here. So, father, we receive the seed that you through today, and we pray, Lord, that we would cultivate it, that we would water it, that we would intertwine with others, and that the word that we received today would not just sputter out, but it would produce 30, 60, and 100 fold.

And we trust you for that in Jesus name. All right. Well, we’re going to go over to fellowship. And if you have a new person next to you, make sure you grab onto them and bring them over to fellowship. We have, free pizza if you’re a visitor. You can’t beat that man. And you have to pay for your pizza if you’re not a visitor.

So you can. You can, you can beat that. But let’s go over to fellowship, and we’ll see you there.
The Kingdom of God rarely announces itself with noise or spectacle. More often, it begins quietly—small, unseen, and easily overlooked. Yet when it is received with an open and teachable heart, it grows with an unstoppable force that transforms lives, communities, and generations.
The Kingdom Begins Small—but Grows Powerfully
Jesus repeatedly taught that the Kingdom of God starts small. Like a mustard seed planted in the soil or yeast blended into dough, its beginnings are humble. But once planted, the Kingdom grows steadily and inevitably until its influence becomes undeniable.
This growth is not driven by human striving or natural strength. It is the result of God’s divine design. Our role is not to force growth, but to remain planted, receptive, and faithful. When we align ourselves with God’s process, His growth works through us.
The Power of Choice and an Open Heart
God is sovereign, all-powerful, and limitless—but He has chosen to give humanity free will. Participation in the Kingdom is not automatic. We choose whether we will receive it.
Jesus made it clear that revelation is given to those who listen with open, teachable hearts. In Matthew 13, He explained why He spoke in parables: not to hide truth, but to reveal it to those who were truly listening. Everyone is invited, but not everyone receives.
Those who come with closed hearts—confident in their own understanding or unwilling to listen—miss what God is offering. But those who listen with humility receive progressively more revelation, more clarity, and more life.
The Condition of the Heart Matters
Jesus’ parable of the sower reveals four conditions of the heart:
- The hardened path represents those who hear the message but do not understand it. The truth is quickly taken away.
- Rocky soil represents those who receive the Word with joy but lack depth. When trouble or persecution comes, they fall away.
- Thorny soil represents those whose faith is choked by the worries of life and the lure of wealth. They are alive, but fruitless.
- Good soil represents those with open, teachable hearts who hear, understand, and bear fruit—thirty, sixty, and even a hundredfold.
The seed is always good. The difference lies in the soil. And the condition of the soil is our choice.
Growth Requires Continuance
The early church understood this principle well. Scripture tells us they “continued steadfastly” in the apostles’ teaching, fellowship, breaking of bread, and prayer. Their faith was not a momentary experience—it was a lifestyle.
Spiritual growth requires consistency. Roots must go deep and wide. Like redwood trees, believers are designed to intertwine their roots with others, standing strong together through storms, hardship, and opposition.
Growth does not mean the absence of struggle. It means stability in the midst of it.
Don’t Despise Small Beginnings
God rejoices in beginnings—even small ones. Zechariah reminds us not to despise the day of small beginnings because God delights in the process He has started.
Every tree begins as a seed. Every great move of God begins quietly. Even lives that eventually impact millions often start with a single, unseen moment of surrender.
What matters is not how it starts—but whether we stay planted.
Trust the Process, Believe the Promise
Scripture consistently points us to the same truth:
- Trust in the Lord, and you will be established.
- Commit your way to Him, and He will bring it to pass.
- Remain in Christ, and you will bear much fruit.
God is not asking us to understand everything—He is asking us to trust Him. When we bring our plans to Him with humility, allowing His will to replace our own, His purposes unfold with power and grace.
Unstoppable Growth Is Available to All
God is not biased. He does not play favorites. His Kingdom is offered equally to everyone who will listen.
The growth of the Kingdom is unstoppable—but participation is optional. Each of us must decide whether we will remain open, teachable, and committed.
When we do, God promises not only growth, but fruitfulness—a life that reflects His nature and advances His Kingdom on earth.
A Call to Remain Planted
The invitation is simple: stay planted. Stay blended. Stay receptive.
What God begins, He is faithful to finish. As we continue with open hearts, His unstoppable growth will shape us into a people who reflect Christ, impact the world, and fulfill His purposes in our generation.
The Kingdom has already been planted. The question is whether we will choose to grow with it.
Study Guide
Summary
This message teaches that the Kingdom of God begins small but grows with unstoppable power when it is received with an open and teachable heart. Using Jesus’ parables of the sower, the mustard seed, and yeast, we are reminded that growth is God’s work, but participation is our choice. The condition of our hearts determines whether the Word produces fruit. As we remain planted, continue steadfastly, and trust God’s process, His Kingdom grows in us and through us—impacting lives, communities, and generations.
