Jesus Is Building a Church That Carries Life
Pastor Bob continued the His Church: Under Construction series by reminding us that Jesus is building His Church to bring His life into a dying world.
We are not merely people who attend church—we are the Church. God calls us both His building and His fellow workers, meaning that we are simultaneously being formed by Him and invited to participate in His work.
Through Ephesians 4 and other passages, Pastor Bob emphasized that God equips His people for ministry. Spiritual gifts are not simply for personal fulfillment; they are given for the strengthening, maturity, and mission of the entire body of Christ.
The challenge is to move from being spectators to active participants who come believing, serve one another, use what God has placed within us, and carry the life of Jesus outside the walls of the church.

I put these on and won’t be able to see you. I’d be good. Okay, well, I want to welcome our friends from Greece. This is one of them hiding back there. Joe and Liz. Joseph, I’m glad that you brought your wife along so good. You know, I know she came kicking and screaming. I understand.
00:00:28:22 – 00:00:42:16
Unknown
She came up to me before service and said, you know, last time I was here, you died. I asked her if she came to finish the job.
00:00:42:18 – 00:00:54:06
Unknown
That’s true. Right? Yeah. So good, so good. I promised her I wouldn’t die today. Okay. So, is that good? That’s good.
00:00:54:08 – 00:01:18:18
Unknown
But you need to promise me none of you will die either. And we talk about dying to self. But that’s a whole different story. That doesn’t always happen here. Happens with your time with him. I like what Pastor Jonathan was doing earlier when he was announcing spirit and truth. And he was talking about the, you know, the priest actually taking the.
00:01:18:25 – 00:01:47:09
Unknown
Well, actually, it’s the only part of the tabernacle that’s kind of movable in some sense. The incense, the incense are on the table of incense was the part that the priest brought into the holiest holy. So when we there speaks so much to us when we’re worshiping that we’re going before his presence, that we need to come in with worship on our hearts and our in our lips and praise and thanksgiving.
00:01:47:12 – 00:02:13:20
Unknown
Amen. It’s it’s such a good thing. And you should go to spirit and truth. Yeah. If you don’t, you’re really missing out. I feel sorry for you. I’ll be. I’ll. I’m sad. I’ll cry for you. Okay. So we have this series going on. Called his Church under construction. Oh, look, it’s up there. Nice. Very good. And today we’re going to talk.
00:02:13:22 – 00:02:43:04
Unknown
This is our second week of 3000 weeks. We’re talking about equipped to build. And I would recommend you don’t miss any of the 3000 weeks. Yes. You know, Pastor Shelly, last week, she ended with her. Why? I always start with my why. But my why for this series happens to be what she ended with last week.
00:02:43:06 – 00:02:48:05
Unknown
And that was life.
00:02:48:07 – 00:02:59:13
Unknown
The reality of God building his church, his church is so that life will come forth in the earth.
00:02:59:15 – 00:03:10:21
Unknown
I know that’s not too exciting for you. If you get the chance to die and come back, you’ll find out how exciting that can be. Okay.
00:03:10:23 – 00:03:18:06
Unknown
Yeah. Because God gave us life to prevail over death.
00:03:18:09 – 00:03:38:20
Unknown
That’s what the message of life is in our church. Come on. I know some of you forgotten. And I know some of you who’ve never heard it. But let me tell you, that’s what the message is here. Because what’s at stake is life and death. Yeah. Okay. I just want to make it really clear, because that’s my why.
00:03:38:22 – 00:03:57:16
Unknown
And, God, from what I heard last week from Pastor Shelly. God is sending us right to where death resides. Now, some of you are scared of that. Especially when I stand here.
00:03:57:18 – 00:04:06:07
Unknown
That. Where’s your sting grave? Where’s your victory?
00:04:06:10 – 00:04:29:00
Unknown
Pastor Shelly’s up here explaining this young lady. What happened? Is that what you’re doing here? I love it. Yeah. You know, the Lord spoke to me about you when they were up here prophesying over you, that you have been on defense long enough. It’s now time to go on offense. Father said actually, when he spoke to me, he said that I was going to make her roaring lion.
00:04:29:03 – 00:04:48:07
Unknown
That when your worship comes forth, it’s going to be so unusual to you, but you’re going to come up out of your skin. So whatever that’s worth to you. Or you can just think that we all had bad pizza last night. We’re just doing stuff. And that poor couple back there that got Pastor Jonathan. Same thing. We’re just weirdos here, okay?
00:04:48:08 – 00:04:51:25
Unknown
Just get used to it.
00:04:51:27 – 00:05:16:11
Unknown
Yeah, it’s okay, but the Lord bless you. The Lord bless the word that he gave over you. Because I know that some of that word got into you. It got into your spirit. And when the Word of God hits your spirit, there’s no turning back. Yeah, it comes like a refreshing water. And it comes like a fire that burns away things.
00:05:16:13 – 00:05:44:27
Unknown
Because this is where we’re going with this message of build God building his church. It’s building a church that can bring life into an ever dying world. Don’t lose sight of that. Never lose sight of that. John 173. In the New King James says, and this is eternal life, that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.
00:05:45:01 – 00:06:11:06
Unknown
And this world gives a lot of other things for people. It gives a lot of other distractions other than the actual one true God. Jesus Christ Himself who came to give us eternal life. This is great news. Yeah, this is news that many people in here have dedicated their entire life to.
00:06:11:08 – 00:06:16:01
Unknown
Think about it.
00:06:16:03 – 00:06:38:09
Unknown
We’ll get there. First. John one verses one and two says in the new King James that which was from the beginning, right at the very start, which we have heard, which we have seen with our own eyes, which we’ve looked upon, and our hands have handled, concerning the word of life. And the life was manifested, it became alive.
00:06:38:09 – 00:07:16:27
Unknown
It was shown to us. You understand this when it says manifested, and we have seen and bear witness, and declare to you that the eternal life which was with the father, and was manifested to us. Everyone that knows Jesus. And if there’s anyone in here that doesn’t know Jesus, this is a great day to come to him, because every one of us that knows Jesus understands that his life was manifested to us, that when we came to him, and I don’t care where you were, you might have been like me, just a weird druggy, lost just in the world with everything else.
00:07:17:03 – 00:07:21:20
Unknown
Me and pastor Pat and.
00:07:21:23 – 00:07:50:20
Unknown
And a host of others. Or you may think you have a great life. Maybe you do. And it’s wonderful. By the world’s standards, you have everything. But if you don’t have the life of Jesus Christ, you’re missing the most essential thing that this life has to offer you. I don’t want you to lose sight of that. I want you to understand that, like in the in the in the bottom of your soul, just so you understand this is what life is.
00:07:50:22 – 00:08:10:05
Unknown
This is why consistently, from the beginning of the Bible to the end of it, we hear about this funny little term right in the very beginning, in Genesis and at the very end in revelation. This tree of life, Jesus is the tree of life.
00:08:10:07 – 00:08:34:11
Unknown
The tree of life is not some weird little thing tree. Oh yeah, maybe that’s how Adam and Eve maybe first experienced it. But the reality is it’s him. It’s his life. It’s that Zoe life of God that resides in the father and the son and the Holy Spirit. And he’s calling to us today to be part of his building plan.
00:08:34:13 – 00:09:01:28
Unknown
Oh come on. Because his house holds life. And his house is not just this with the chandeliers and the nice decorations. His life is us. His house is us. Okay. I’m sorry I get a little excited about this. And according to my wife, not allowed to apologize for getting excited, so. I’m sorry. I got sorry for that.
00:09:02:01 – 00:09:30:00
Unknown
John 1010 in the the new English translation. Pretty good translation. I’m going through the whole Bible in that one to see how it works out. I’ll let you know how much false doctrine is in there when I’m done. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I have come so that they. That’s us. So that they may have life and may have it abundantly.
00:09:30:02 – 00:09:38:22
Unknown
If your life’s been cheating you out of the abundance, come to Jesus.
00:09:38:25 – 00:10:15:22
Unknown
I mean, that’s all I have to say. Amen. Let’s close and go to. No. Pastor Shelley would kill me for not getting to the point. Yes, I think we got to the point, by the way. God loves his church. You. When we talk about building the church, when you hear the word church, when you hear the body of Christ coming out of my mouth, or any of the other creatures that will preach over the next several weeks, I want you to hear you.
00:10:15:25 – 00:10:45:18
Unknown
So many people think I go to that church. The reality is you are the church. And when God’s got a building plan that includes it has to include you. It can’t be separate from you. You have to see your part of this, your vested interest and your investment in this. Okay. Come on. Building projects. So when. Let’s not lose sight of the why.
00:10:45:20 – 00:11:06:17
Unknown
As I begin to talk about building projects in the building of his church I was going to bring up, I was going to do a pastor Pat thing. I was going to bring up my building stuff. My, my, I have this belt with all the tools and stuff, but my family won’t let me carry that around anymore. I they, they actually helped.
00:11:06:20 – 00:11:31:20
Unknown
They actually built my house a few years ago. And it’s interesting actually, so many of you helped build my house too. I thank you for that. So many of you, including pastor Pat, he put our floor in for us in most of our house. It was amazing. I couldn’t do that. It’s interesting because in God’s building plan, there takes an architect.
00:11:31:23 – 00:12:03:10
Unknown
Yes. I remember on my house I was the architect. Actually, I do that. I actually have another life I lived to where I design stuff, I designed houses, I designed products, I designed all sorts of weird stuff. But I started thinking about Lord in his design. It has to start somewhere. And I remember when I designed my house long before we did any kind of building, long before we, you know, did the property and clearing and all that.
00:12:03:12 – 00:12:23:26
Unknown
I could walk through that house. I walked through it for three years before we got finished. I knew what it would look like. I knew what it would feel like. I knew what the corners were, everything I understood. A matter of fact, I remember when we first got out there, my son and I, and it was just woods and everything, and I’m like, wow, this is crazy.
00:12:23:28 – 00:12:41:05
Unknown
But I knew a house could live there. You’re with me on this. And then we started clearing it and all that. And there’s a whole long story. I’ll get to that some year with you. It’s a great story, but, in that process, I remember I had to lay out. I got a chalker. You know what that is?
00:12:41:07 – 00:13:07:02
Unknown
Baseball fans. You know, you go chalk a field. Or if you’re a communist and you like soccer pastor. Pastor Jonathan. Okay. Yeah, you can chalk those fields to. But we got to chalk her out and we had cleared the property was flat, and I actually drew the house from my wife in full size because she couldn’t imagine it.
00:13:07:02 – 00:13:24:22
Unknown
Even when I walked her through, I said, yeah, you remember, like, this is going to be here, and that’s going to be. And she’s like, what? That which struck me, that gift I have, I never earned it. Oh yeah. I went to school and learned some of the techniques and all that, but there’s something I can do. I think Mike Flores is like that, too.
00:13:24:29 – 00:13:50:28
Unknown
He can kind of imagine. I can only imagine. Yes, he can, he can, I can imagine and more than imagine. I actually can live in places. I can do this with products to, you know, designing robotics and mechanical equipment. I know it sounds strange, but that’s what’s in the heart of somebody that has that kind of gift. Is there a phone call coming in?
00:13:51:00 – 00:14:08:20
Unknown
Jesus calling. He’s getting to get to the point. Okay. So in in that gift, I could see it before it actually became. What is that? Okay, turn in all your phones right now. Bring him up here. The altar. We’re having a.
00:14:08:23 – 00:14:34:22
Unknown
I left mine back there. Maybe it’s my phone. I’ve never heard it do that weirdness. So? So this gift to be able to see something before it comes into reality is actually our master architect, Jesus and his church. He sees you like you could barely imagine you. And he sees you not only individually, but he sees you corporately in a way that you can barely imagine.
00:14:34:24 – 00:14:56:00
Unknown
Even those of us who have been walking around on the face of the earth trying to serve him for 50 plus years. We just have a little glimpse of the big picture. Okay, so God’s building his house. I’ll give you the rest of the story of my house and how it got built. But, that some other day.
00:14:56:02 – 00:15:27:06
Unknown
So in this process, you are both the co laborer with God and also part of the building at the same time. Are you with me on this? Does this sound strange to you? Just like Jesus is the master architect, he’s also the chief cornerstone. He’s actually part of the project. Oh, come on. And. Yeah, and he’s the. He’s actually on the building team with us in the building of his house.
00:15:27:08 – 00:15:56:10
Unknown
See, we tried to, like, position ourselves in one little spot. And meanwhile, God has this big picture that you can actually be part of the planning, part of the part of the dirt, part of the. You can be pieces with the cornerstone attached to the foundation, and also be building it at the same time. This is you. You don’t see yourself that way most of the time.
00:15:56:12 – 00:16:32:29
Unknown
Most of the time we see ourselves as a person that comes to church to sit in a seat and hear somebody talk and then go away, and that’s that. But that’s not part of his building plan. Okay, I’m going to take that back. It might be a tiny part of his building plan, but the bigger part of his building plan is you and I recognizing who we are in Christ and knowing that we are part of his building, part of his his church, his house, and operating as part of it, at the same time being part of the process of building his house.
00:16:33:02 – 00:16:57:09
Unknown
I’m prophesying over somebody. You got stuck in a dead life, and God wants to bring you out of that dead life into his glory, his life that happens in his church and his church alone, and that building process that we are part of, even though you’ve lost sight of it in the past, God’s refreshing you today. He speaks to you by the Spirit of God.
00:16:57:12 – 00:17:27:29
Unknown
Even when you thought everything was lost and given up on God did not give up because that master architect had a vision of what it would be like. He had a vision of who you would be like in his church. And he, by the way, he won’t settle for your vision of it. Come on. All right. So just like Jesus, the master architect, the chief cornerstone, and the building team, by the way, you can find that I won’t.
00:17:28:00 – 00:17:47:15
Unknown
We don’t have these scriptures up, but you can find that in Joe. Those of you who are taking notes, job 38, four through seven. You know, he talks about he made the foundations and measured things out. This is who he is. He understands what it takes to do things. He also in Proverbs 827 through 30 says, he tells us that he’s a master craftsman.
00:17:47:19 – 00:18:19:26
Unknown
And also in Hebrews one verse two, he made the world’s by Jesus. You understand? This is our architect. This is the architect of his church, his building. First Corinthians three nine says, for we are God’s fellow workers, and you are God’s field. You are God’s building.
00:18:19:28 – 00:18:47:04
Unknown
So God is the master architect and the master builder and the owner of his church. In this building process, there are transitions. I think I heard today in some of those prophecies there thresholds going over. There are transitions that happen along the way, and people involved must be equipped for those transitions. I want you to hear that word equipped.
00:18:47:06 – 00:19:33:08
Unknown
That’s what we’re talking about today. You have to be equipped for this transitioning time. There’s a lot of transitioning coming real soon here. This transition moves from the why of the project. Okay. The the why it was conceived, if you will, to the what is being built to the how it’s being built. And you’re going to see in the progression of the training that we are going to be getting over the next several weeks, that we’re going to go from the why to the what to the how, and you are completely involved in this on so many levels, on so many levels that are going to blow your mind.
00:19:33:11 – 00:20:05:23
Unknown
Okay, on October 21st announcement. See, I have an announcement on October 21st Wednesday night. Oh, look it it’s up there. 7 p.m. our church body will be receiving equipping through what we call presbytery. I call it prophetic presbytery. Presbytery comes in a lot of flavors, a lot of versions, a lot of things. Normally, presbytery is a group of elders.
00:20:05:25 – 00:20:30:12
Unknown
They don’t have to be that old, but they need to be mature, okay? They need to mature in the in the word, mature in the prophetic. They need to be mature. And the Bible calls that a presbytery. That’s a weird word. Some of you were here for the last one we had. Okay. There’s reasons for the presbytery.
00:20:30:14 – 00:20:35:09
Unknown
Okay. This is for.
00:20:35:11 – 00:21:07:21
Unknown
This is for the work of the ministry, the building and maturing of his body, his church, into his image. You hear what I’m saying? His church into his image. That’s you. What’s going to happen on that night? Part of what happened. Part of what happened a few weeks ago in presbytery, part of what’s going to happen and will continue to happen in our church is that God, through the presbytery, is equipping our church.
00:21:07:23 – 00:21:11:09
Unknown
That’s you.
00:21:11:11 – 00:21:24:07
Unknown
Okay? I said, that’s you. Yeah. Are you awake out there? Okay. The presbytery is delivering gifts to you.
00:21:24:10 – 00:21:35:00
Unknown
I said gifts to you, the body of Christ. This is why you need to be here for the delivery process.
00:21:35:02 – 00:21:52:09
Unknown
Right? You need to be here. It’s like God sent one of those guys that does the home delivery. And you were not there. And they, like, left the milk out in front. And it got spoiled by the time you got back in three weeks. I hate when that happens.
00:21:52:11 – 00:22:11:07
Unknown
Yeah. Okay. So God has a gift for you because you’re the body, the church. This is what the presbytery is all about. And he wants to personally bring it to you. He probably he personally wants to enlighten you with what’s going to happen there, some of which what I’m going to talk about, some scriptures, some understanding of it.
00:22:11:08 – 00:22:39:19
Unknown
But it’s for you. It’s for me. It’s not just for the people getting a prophecy. Oh man, I can’t. Okay, okay. People think that prophecy in the presbytery is gives it to an individual, gives a prophecy to an individual. It’s for that person. And, you know, receiving a ministry. Actually, I want to say that’s only partially true. Okay.
00:22:39:22 – 00:23:14:22
Unknown
The reality is that the Holy Spirit is placing and assigning gifts in the church, in the church body, as he wills, according to First Corinthians 1211, the purpose is not just for the individual, but I’m going to say this even more essential. It’s for the body of Christ. If you think someone’s coming to get their fortune told, or they’re going to say nice things about the people and all that kind of great stuff, you’re coming for the wrong reasons.
00:23:14:24 – 00:23:49:17
Unknown
You should be coming to receive your gift. Okay. All right. If you don’t get this, you’ll definitely opt out of coming if you’re not hearing what I’m saying and it’s not registering in your first, maybe your soul. I know your spirit gets this. If you’re born of God, your spirits like, can we go, please can we go? And then maybe your soul, especially if you’re not born again, like good night.
00:23:49:20 – 00:23:57:11
Unknown
If you’re like me, it’ll be like the Yankees might be playing that night.
00:23:57:13 – 00:24:12:13
Unknown
One of those. One of those English soccer teams. Right? I don’t want to go. You know, I’m a little tired that night. I worked hard that day. Come on.
00:24:12:15 – 00:24:43:29
Unknown
Come on. Hey, we’re having church, right? Is this the truth? Yeah, I say, I almost said drag your. Sorry, but. But I won’t use that kind of language. Drag yourself here kicking and screaming. Just do it. You won’t be disappointed. You, you. Because God has a gift for you. Okay, we’re going to talk a lot about this, but I, you know, we’re going to unwrap this, the gift before he even gets here.
00:24:44:01 – 00:24:58:24
Unknown
So, you’ll definitely opt out. Like I said, if you don’t get this, if you don’t understand that it’s vital to the presbytery function that you’re here.
00:24:58:26 – 00:25:07:04
Unknown
Prior to the presbytery, it’s vital that you are in prayer.
00:25:07:07 – 00:25:12:08
Unknown
Some of you might even consider fasting.
00:25:12:10 – 00:25:29:29
Unknown
Don’t. Don’t tell me if you’re fasting. I don’t want to know. Honestly, I hate when people tell me they’re fasting. I’m like, what do I care? I’m not fasting. It’s like, but but if you happen to be fasting, more power to you. I would say, you know, 40 day fast would be interesting. We had a couple of people do that.
00:25:30:02 – 00:25:59:27
Unknown
I think pastors, pastors. Well, Pastor Celine son did that once. It’s crazy man. Gosh, wonderful. I think he heard from God in the process. So, prayer, fasting and believing. Oh, what? So the body of Christ has an assignment on the presbytery. They have to pray. Possibly. Some of you might fast. Not you skinny people don’t fast. I don’t want to see you disappear.
00:25:59:29 – 00:26:06:29
Unknown
And. But you need to come believing.
00:26:07:01 – 00:26:14:25
Unknown
You. Okay? Do you know that’s what makes church work or not?
00:26:14:27 – 00:26:26:04
Unknown
Matter of fact, I’m giving you an order for the next 20 Sundays. If you don’t come believing to church. Church fails.
00:26:26:07 – 00:26:38:13
Unknown
Oh, we forget how much we have involved in this, how much we’re necessary in this. It’s so easy to just come and sit in a seat and just be like.
00:26:38:16 – 00:27:05:27
Unknown
Watch. You know, watch the show go by. That wasn’t God’s church that he designed. He okay. He he designed a church for you to come to be passionate about what he’s unveiling and doing. Not a bystander to be passionate of who he is in you and what he’s doing in you, and what he’s done in you, and what he will do in you.
00:27:05:29 – 00:27:24:22
Unknown
To be passionate for the people next to you. Some of them are struggling and hurting and they need your faith. They need your believing to help them. This very next step.
00:27:24:24 – 00:27:41:26
Unknown
And when we fail in that area, church fails. You can have a very nice big church filled with a bunch of people dead.
00:27:41:28 – 00:28:11:08
Unknown
But when you have a church filled with even two people who are passionate about what God is doing and believing, even in the face of unbelief, even the face of impossible circumstances, when we have a church that’s back, dedicated, that’s locked in. I don’t care if it’s 2 or 1000. That church starts to do crazy stuff in the earth.
00:28:11:11 – 00:28:39:22

Oh, we’ll get into it. We’ll get into it. Life happens, life happens. So this presbytery thing, this, you know, function that we’re talking about happened not only in the New Testament, also in the Old Testament, numbers 116 through 17. In the new King James says, the Lord said to Moses, gather to me 70 of the elders of Israel, whom you know to be elders of the people.
00:28:39:24 – 00:29:07:14
Unknown
There’s a assessing going on there, and officers among them bring them to the tabernacle of meeting. And they that they may stand there with you. Then I will come down and talk to you there. And I listen to this. I will take of the spirit that is upon you, and will put the same upon them.
00:29:07:16 – 00:29:32:07
Unknown
They just came to the tavern. They just came to the church. But they were approved and they came believing. Trust me, when God calls to an assembly to come and join and come together, you know you. We hear this out of Hebrews. Don’t forsake the assembling of yourselves as some is. That assembling goes a lot more, a lot further beyond just coming into the same church together.
00:29:32:09 – 00:29:38:09
Unknown
That’s a joining in unity in the faith and believing.
00:29:38:12 – 00:30:03:10
Unknown
And when that happens, things get transmitted into people. There is a the spirit that is upon you. He goes on to say, I will put the same upon them, and they shall bear the burden of the people with you, that you may not bear it yourself alone. A church is never based on a pastor or five.
00:30:03:12 – 00:30:26:08
Unknown
A church is based on the body of Christ, the church, or it fails. It doesn’t matter how good that pastor can preach. I don’t care if there’s miracles coming out of their fingers. It will go to a dead place if the church is not engaged. I hope God stirring you up. And I know God stirring up some of you in the spirit right now.
00:30:26:14 – 00:30:51:08
Unknown
Even with this weird bald guy talking, there’s I know that he is like grabbing you by the spirit. Even if your soul tame, even to your soul, just doesn’t like it that he’s shaking you in the spirit. Like, come on, come on. You’ve watched. You’ve been a spectator long enough. Come into my house and be my house.
00:30:51:11 – 00:30:54:00
Unknown
Okay?
00:30:54:02 – 00:31:28:26
Unknown
First Timothy, New Testament verses for a verse. Pardon me. Chapter four, verse 14. New King James says, do not neglect the gift that is in you, which was given you by prophecy, with the laying on of hands of the eldership. That’s a group. The eldership. That’s the presbytery. Yes, we’re talking about presbytery. Still second Timothy one six and New King James says, therefore I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands.
00:31:28:26 – 00:31:57:10
Unknown
In that case, that was Paul. So we see there’s a group that can come through, and there’s also a single person that can come through the presbytery. Ephesians 411 through 13 and he himself, you know who that himself is, because say his name. Say it again, that louder. Isn’t that a great name? Yeah, there’s something about that one.
00:31:57:12 – 00:32:01:04
Unknown
So. Yes.
00:32:01:06 – 00:32:04:01
Unknown
Okay.
00:32:04:04 – 00:32:15:17
Unknown
And he himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, some pastors and teachers. Why?
00:32:15:19 – 00:32:25:07
Unknown
Why did he put these people in our lives, like to torment us?
00:32:25:09 – 00:32:45:20
Unknown
Why? For the equipping of the saints for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, till we all come to the separate, separate understandings of Jesus in my own little life?
00:32:45:23 – 00:32:59:24
Unknown
No. To the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ. This is what’s at stake here.
00:32:59:26 – 00:33:11:00
Unknown
And the body cannot come there without you.
00:33:11:03 – 00:33:31:14
Unknown
Okay, so we’ll let that settle for a while. There are several things that happen during presbytery as God continues the building process in our church, the first thing that happens is a thing called impartation.
00:33:31:17 – 00:33:58:17
Unknown
It is for the individual, but for him, for the church, for his church, you understand God is going to impart in the presbytery, and we’re going to lay hands on people here and prophesy. There’s an impartation that’s happening into that person, but it’s also for you. How many people here have been called to heal? Can I see the hands?
00:33:58:17 – 00:34:29:09
Unknown
Can you stand up? Because I. I’m having a hard time with my glasses seeing that. Yeah. Wow. Thank you. Jesus. Thank you Jesus. This is how much God cares about us, our church. He put this many people in his house to heal. He’s equipping. He’s, He’s getting us ready for what’s going to happen in the future. Oh, you can sit down, I guess.
00:34:29:10 – 00:34:53:27
Unknown
Unless someone needs healing. Then go find one of those people. Yeah, go find him. Does that blow your mind a little? Like, did you know that many people have that kind of calling? I didn’t know that, actually. I just thought about asking to stand up right here on the spot. It’s a it’s amazing. So that was that’s done.
00:34:53:27 – 00:35:16:04
Unknown
There’s an impartation that’s happening so that his his church can be equipped to do the work of the ministry, which is the healing is a major component of it. You notice that the world out there and sometimes in the church is suffering.
00:35:16:06 – 00:35:26:16
Unknown
Yeah, I was being generous. Sometimes you notice I have all these things going on, all these isms.
00:35:26:18 – 00:35:59:09
Unknown
And schisms and problems and where their soul is hurting and this is hurting. That’s why God put all the healers in our church. I I’m going to prophesy, he’s calling out you healers because he has the work going on. You, you you need to go home. You, the people have been called to healing and ask the Lord, give me a picture of the big picture of the building, your building that I’m part of in my healing ministry.
00:35:59:11 – 00:36:19:22
Unknown
Oh man. Come on. Yeah, it’s okay if you clap. Don’t clap for me. But clap for the healers here and that. And clap for our Jesus. Our God. Yeah. Who cares so much about this church and care so much about that world out there that he put that many healers in here?
00:36:19:25 – 00:36:24:26
Unknown
Man, if you spread out all over our county.
00:36:24:28 – 00:36:57:09
Unknown
What would that look like anyway? I’ll go on with my message here. So this impartation is generally done with the laying on of hands and with the impartation imparting of spiritual gifts to our church that you and the corporate body of Christ worldwide. Yes, he is equipping us to bring life into a dying world. That’s the deal. It’s amazing.
00:36:57:12 – 00:37:08:08
Unknown
There is definite there’s a definite anointing with the all of heaven that gets imparted during this time.
00:37:08:10 – 00:37:28:19
Unknown
I said the oil of heaven. It’s funny when I realized that this morning when I when I died. Since then, I talk a lot about the oil of heaven. I got a little bit of a glimpse in there, but prior to that, I was thinking the last time Liz and Joe were here, you reminded me of this because I lost my memory of two and a half days.
00:37:28:20 – 00:37:46:08
Unknown
I don’t, but apparently I got this vision of us, this church being connected. Was it with the pipe? Yeah, I was thinking about it this morning. A pipe filled with all over the grease.
00:37:46:10 – 00:38:10:05
Unknown
What’s that? Golden. Golden Byfield with golden. I don’t know, that’s an inside joke. Anybody that’s younger than, like, 90 doesn’t doesn’t know that one. Okay. Somebody came here a long time ago prophet and preach that I think it was Evans who did that. Yeah. He was a strange guy.
00:38:10:07 – 00:38:33:16
Unknown
I should call him strange, though. It’s. Yeah, I say it’s a calling it. Yes. Okay. So, Yeah, but. But what? The Lord gave me the vision that day that I died. Actually, Liz’s agreeing. You can check with her. I’m not dreaming this up was this pipe that was filled with all going back and forth between here and there.
00:38:33:18 – 00:38:38:12
Unknown
I don’t know, maybe some of you healers.
00:38:38:15 – 00:39:08:11
Unknown
Need to be thinking about taking the shuttle. Okay. Anyway. Okay, we’ll see where that goes. Shuttle did bring you. I’m not saying you need to go live in Greece like the two weirdos are doing, but they’re strange people. But we are people called to the world. This building process is not just sit in these eight walls. This building part process that God is building is so that we can go out from here and bring.
00:39:08:14 – 00:39:36:25
Unknown
Come on. I’ll just go on my message. Yeah, I can tell. Okay. So this anointing is designed to break strongholds. Did you hear what I said? It’s designed to break strongholds. This is what the presbytery is doing when he’s imparting into our church body gifts. By the anointing, by the laying on of hands to break strongholds in the church and outside these walls.
00:39:36:27 – 00:39:55:29
Unknown
He’s bringing. He’s anointing to heal the sick. Like we said earlier, he’s anointing to raise the dead. We are going to see that more and more. There are places in the earth already where that’s happening on a regular basis. We don’t hear about it here.
00:39:56:02 – 00:40:01:27
Unknown
Maybe because we don’t have enough faith to believe it can happen.
00:40:01:29 – 00:40:13:08
Unknown
Oh, we saw that guy. Yeah. That’s right. That happened. We saw it. Sometimes when we see something, we still don’t even believe it. Okay.
00:40:13:11 – 00:40:34:03
Unknown
And also to spread the good news of the gospel. That’s what this anointing is all about. This is what this laying on hands, it’s to equip us. Okay? It’s, It’s to establish. Oh, come on now. It’s established. This kingdom with demonstration and power.
00:40:34:05 – 00:41:02:12
Unknown
Not just so people can come to a church and sing some nice songs and look pretty on Sunday and live like hell on Monday. I didn’t say that, but, But to for power and demonstration in the earth. So when they come into contact with you. They are coming into contact with Jesus Christ himself. They’re coming to contact with his church, his building plan, his equipping.
00:41:02:14 – 00:41:30:19
Unknown
Oh, come on, the the world is really good at getting a sidetrack from this, getting so focused on other things. And they look good. And we’re warned, actually, in the Bible, if I recall, that isn’t in the days of Noah. So shall the coming of the Son of Man be. Yes, that people will be involved with stuff. Yeah.
00:41:30:22 – 00:41:38:22
Unknown
Not evil stuff per se. Distractions.
00:41:38:25 – 00:42:07:14
Unknown
Not focused on his building plan, not keeping, you know, forward in their soul what his purposes are, how he sees you living in his house, or how he sees you living in this world. We it’s so easy to get distracted because we have kids, some of which we idolize. We have jobs, most of which we find a lot of our self-worth.
00:42:07:14 – 00:42:29:16
Unknown
Unfortunately, we should do those things well. We should have our children. They should be in subjection to us, and they should see us living a life that’s somewhat going toward God, yet somewhat. I’m not putting I’m not giving you like a giant. You know, I’m not raising the bar way up here, right? Like there’s a step toward this and we should do our jobs.
00:42:29:16 – 00:42:53:29
Unknown
Well, we should work as unto the Lord. We should not lies those things, because all of those things will. They’ll distract us from his building process, from his building, and from who you are in the process and in the building. I hope I’m getting through to somebody. I’ll finish up here.
00:42:54:01 – 00:43:38:05
Unknown
We see that in acts one with the picking of the new apostles. Remember Matthias he got he replaced Judas. Remember that little story there? That there was this, equipping or confirmation that went on? Okay. This happens in presbytery. No, we don’t have a Judas here that we’re going to replace. But they they understood these people who are brought up for presbytery, the church, the pastors, the leaders of the church have identified them, have prayed over this, have identified and said these people, it’s time for them to receive some of this presbytery ministry.
00:43:38:07 – 00:44:00:29
Unknown
It doesn’t mean that everybody else is excluded. You’re all part of it. But the the the shepherding body, the elders of the church, they’ve decided this is the time for this person. It may be time for reasons that you will have no clue of. You might look and go, why them?
00:44:01:01 – 00:44:05:22
Unknown
Why not me?
00:44:05:24 – 00:44:38:15
Unknown
In reality, it should be. Yay! Them. Yeah, them. Part of me. Bone of my bone. Flesh of my flesh. If we’re doing church, if we’re just playing church, then you can stay home on that Wednesday. Just saying. That’s the reality of all this. So we see in acts that these people were they had walked with Jesus like they were a criteria that went on with these folks.
00:44:38:17 – 00:44:52:26
Unknown
You know, with Matthias, you know what’s really interesting? These these guys get their hands laid on. They get called into the apostleship of the lamb, this one guy, and you never hear from him again.
00:44:52:29 – 00:45:23:24
Unknown
Kind of weird, You would think his name would be in bright lights and glamor, and you’d hear about him and be, you know, I’m sure if you went and studied in history, you might find some ideas about what he did and how he functioned. But in reality, God’s more interested in his church body going forward. And by the way, against all odds, his church body went forward to 2000 years gone by and he still going.
00:45:23:27 – 00:45:52:26
Unknown
And, you know, there’s some that we go, oh, Paul, this you know, that’s great. But the reality is without the whole rest of the body, some of the unknown, some that were mentioned once in the Bible to fill the spot of an apostle of the lamb and never heard of again. They all put their hands to the plow and became the church, became part of the building process, became part of the building, and refused to step back.
00:45:52:28 – 00:46:27:09
Unknown
That you. Yeah. That’s you, that’s you. Joe I love Joe. Joe, that applause from you alone means more to me than anything else. Because Jo Ann Jones is a faithful woman of God. Because I’ve seen her. She’s one of my heroes of faith. And she didn’t have to die to do it. She. But she’s because I see her as a faithful woman, and she’s like, she’s stuck in the church.
00:46:27:11 – 00:47:02:28
Unknown
She’s made the church hers. The question is, will you make the church yours, or will it just be a place that you visit on Sunday? Will it just be that church? The presbytery has the ability to change that about you. Another good reason to be here. Maybe because if you come believing, if you come in anticipation. I didn’t say excitement, but anticipation of what God’s going to do.
00:47:03:01 – 00:47:08:16
Unknown
You might be surprised how much God does to you in that process.
00:47:08:19 – 00:47:35:05
Unknown
Because that’s what is. Church is not a spectator sport. I’m going to finish up. Here we go. I’ll read the last of my notes. Presbytery is also a conduits of God’s grace. He’s a and I may have skipped a few things. He’s confirmation the confirmation is tied directly to revealing what a person is and potentially will be in the church.
00:47:35:12 – 00:48:07:26
Unknown
The presbytery is a conduit of God’s grace to the church, to his church. That’s what those people are who are laying hands on people here. The favor of the Lord to his corporate bride not earned or b or because of a transactional arrangement, but because of pure love. That’s why we have presbytery. That’s what it’s all about. First Timothy four, we read this earlier, says, do not neglect the gift.
00:48:07:28 – 00:48:36:09
Unknown
You know that gift there in the Greek is charisma. It’s grace. That’s his grace coming forward. When I say that he’s he’s the presbytery. He’s a conduit of his grace. That’s what he’s pouring out on his church at that time, not just the people up in the front receiving a prophetic prophecy, a presbytery, but his entire church. It’s coming in.
00:48:36:09 – 00:48:58:27
Unknown
It’s like a pipe. It’s coming in and it’s flowing and it’s flowing on you. And you are actually required not just to believe, but to hold the church accountable, including the people receiving the word to the word that they got. I heard the Lord speak this morning when I saw Nick and Rose walk up here. They were just worshiping.
00:48:58:27 – 00:49:16:08
Unknown
I heard the Lord speak to my heart about Nick. Now you recall, Nick got a prophecy in the last presbytery, and then the next day, on a Sunday, he got up and spoke the word of the Lord to us. It was amazing. Yes. Nick, are you here or are you, like, gone somewhere? I can’t. Oh, there you are.
00:49:16:08 – 00:49:41:25
Unknown
Nick. Nick, it’s time not to pull back, but just keep going. I’m holding you accountable. The word is the Lord has given you a word and put it in your heart. This is what presbytery is about. When the whole church is involved. I’m. I’m calling you out here in the front of everybody. But if I hadn’t, I would come and found you to encourage you to, like, do what God assigned to you.
00:49:41:27 – 00:50:13:07
Unknown
So you’ll see that sometimes the presbytery bestows gifts on the church, and sometimes it reveals gifts. So we see the presbytery speaks to an annoyance. Listen to these things. Now there’s a whole list. It anoints. It, activates it, recognizes it, reveals it in parts. It validates, it confirms, and it bestows, and it commissions with grace and power in the following five areas.
00:50:13:09 – 00:50:25:03
Unknown
In a couple of weeks, I’ll be preaching the second half of this message, and you’ll see a nice chart that I have for you at that time. And it’s those five areas include ordination.
00:50:25:06 – 00:50:56:23
Unknown
These are all things that are in our near future. Ordination. It includes the ascension gifts of the five fold ministry. It includes the spiritual gifts and the anointing and encouragement for the health of the church. There are places that this this presbytery speaks to it. Annoyance. It recognizes, it activates. So we’ll see you in a couple of weeks.
00:50:56:25 – 00:51:33:20
Unknown
Hopefully, unless the Lord returns and I know it’s late, but I want I want you to hear this thing we talked to you about today is not some weird pipe dream. It’s actually Jesus building his house and him inviting you to it. And if you’ve never heard this, I want you to hear that the Lord Jesus Christ loves you and personally died for you.
00:51:33:23 – 00:51:45:24
Unknown
And he cares so much about you and his church that he’s calling you today to respond to him.
00:51:45:26 – 00:52:09:01
Unknown
Maybe not with the big show of an altar show or anything like that, although the altar is open. But to you personally, like maybe that’s you. Maybe you’re that person that you need to hear that the Lord Jesus Christ died for you and loves you. And maybe you need to receive him today. It’s not such a farfetched idea.
00:52:09:04 – 00:52:15:18
Unknown
And when you do, you’ll start to see things start to change.
00:52:15:20 – 00:52:24:00
Unknown
Yeah. Oh boy. And they’ll turn change for the good.
00:52:24:02 – 00:52:29:29
Unknown
Westerham. Would you come up here? Just stand over here.
00:52:30:02 – 00:52:47:14
Unknown
I don’t know why the Lord just put you on my heart. Just stand here and I’m not going to do anything to you. You can turn around and look at they look. This guy looks good, doesn’t he? Yeah. So Wes was, Wes was, And his wife. Is your wife here? I don’t know if she’s here or not.
00:52:47:17 – 00:53:21:17
Unknown
She’s okay. Okay. No problem. Wes was called into evangelism. Part of the. Not all of it is actually leading people to Jesus. So if there’s someone here that, like you feel like, hey, you know, I’m going to see what this is all about, I’m going to ask Wes, just stay up here for a few minutes as we all dismiss so you don’t get too embarrassed and maybe come up and talk to Wes and have him pray with you and maybe introduce Jesus.
00:53:21:19 – 00:53:47:03
Unknown
It’s an honor. He’s well equipped. The presbytery did that for him. And also he’s another one of those people I’m challenging, and I know he’s taken that challenge very seriously. And he’s not afraid to share the gospel of Christ, which is the power of God unto salvation. So maybe God’s, he’s pointing at you today. Maybe he’s pressing on you a little bit.
00:53:47:05 – 00:54:05:06
Unknown
Maybe you need to be that person that comes up and we won’t make fun at you, will love you, and welcome you into God’s house and his his family. Amen.
00:54:05:09 – 00:54:14:02
Unknown
Amen. Yeah. Thank you, pastor Bob.
00:54:14:05 – 00:54:35:22
Unknown
So the the front here is open. We’re going to close this time with prayer. Afterwards we go to fellowship across the parking lot and we have food for those who maybe this is your first time here and you are willing to hear some stories and get to know some people. We would love to do that. And so join us for a little bit of what we call fellowship.
00:54:35:27 – 00:54:57:07
Unknown
Amen. So father, thank you for this time. Thank you for your word. And thank you that you care for us, God, and are building your church to bring life into this world and to help us to be a part of your plan in a way, God that releases your glory. We praise you and thank you for this. Amen.
00:54:57:09 – 00:55:00:21
Unknown
Amen. Church. Thank you, pastor Bob.
Equipped to Build
Pastor Bob Wilk
The Church is not being built simply so that we can gather together once a week.
God is building His Church so that life can come forth in the earth.
Jesus said in John 17:3 that eternal life is knowing the only true God and Jesus Christ whom He has sent. The world offers countless distractions, substitutes, and promises of fulfillment, but true life is found in Jesus.
That is why the building of the Church matters.
This is not merely about maintaining an organization, improving a Sunday service, or filling a building. Jesus is building a people who carry His life into places where death has taken hold.
The message of the Church is life.
Jesus said:
“I have come so that they may have life and may have it abundantly.” — John 10:10
God is building a Church that carries that abundant life into an increasingly broken world.
You Are the Church
One of the easiest mistakes we can make is thinking of church primarily as somewhere we go.
We say, “I go to that church.”
But the reality is much deeper:
You are the Church.
When God talks about building His house, His plan includes you.
You are not disconnected from what He is doing. You have a place, a responsibility, an investment, and a purpose within the body of Christ.
God’s building plan cannot be separated from His people.
So when we hear about Christ building His Church, we should not picture only pastors, leaders, ministries, buildings, or programs.
We should hear:
He is building us.
The Master Architect Already Sees What He Is Building
A good architect can see something before anyone else can.
Before the foundation is poured, before the walls are raised, and before anyone else can walk through the finished building, the architect already carries the picture.
Jesus is the Master Architect of His Church.
He sees His Church in a way that we can barely imagine.
And He sees you that way too.
He sees more than your current limitations, failures, frustrations, or unfinished places. He knows what He is forming you into and how you fit into the larger work of His Church.
Even when you lose sight of what God is doing, He has not lost sight of you.
The Master Architect still carries the picture.
You Are Both the Building and a Builder
First Corinthians 3:9 says:
“For we are God’s fellow workers; you are God’s field, you are God’s building.”
That creates a remarkable picture.
We are being built by God while simultaneously being invited to build alongside Him.
Jesus Himself is both the Master Architect and the Chief Cornerstone. He is designing the house, He is part of the foundation, and He invites His people into the work.
That means Christianity was never intended to be a spectator experience.
We are not called merely to sit in a seat, hear a message, and return home unchanged.
We are called to recognize who we are in Christ, understand our place within His body, and participate in what He is building.
Church Is Not a Spectator Sport
It is easy to watch church happen.
We can attend services, listen to preaching, sing songs, and observe what everyone else is doing while remaining personally disengaged.
But that was never God’s design.
The Church functions when the people of God come believing.
Our faith matters.
Our engagement matters.
Our expectation matters.
The person sitting next to you may be struggling, hurting, discouraged, or barely holding on. Your faith may strengthen them.
A church can have a building full of people and still lack spiritual life.
But when even a small group of believers becomes passionate about what God is doing—believing Him even in impossible circumstances—something begins to happen.
Life begins to move.
The Church begins to become what Jesus designed it to be.
Equipped for the Work of Ministry
Ephesians 4 teaches that Jesus gives apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers:
“for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ.”
Notice who is supposed to do the ministry.
The saints.
Ministry was never designed to rest on a handful of pastors.
Leadership equips the body, and the body does the work of ministry.
Every gift God places within His people contributes to the building of His Church.
Healing.
Evangelism.
Prophecy.
Encouragement.
Teaching.
Serving.
Intercession.
Every part matters.
And the body cannot fully become what God intends without each part functioning.
Gifts Are Given for the Body
Spiritual gifts are never merely about the person receiving them.
According to 1 Corinthians 12, the Holy Spirit distributes gifts throughout the body according to His will.
The gift may be placed within an individual, but its purpose reaches far beyond that individual.
God gives gifts because He loves His Church.
He equips people because there is ministry to be done.
He anoints people because there are strongholds that need to be broken.
He calls healers because people are hurting.
He sends evangelists because people need to hear the Gospel.
He raises up prophetic voices because His people need encouragement, direction, confirmation, and strengthening.
The gift is given to you—but it is given for us.
Equipped to Bring Life Into a Dying World
God’s equipping does not end inside the walls of the church.
The purpose is much bigger.
The Church is being equipped to carry life into the world.
Pastor Bob emphasized that God’s anointing empowers His people to break strongholds, heal the sick, spread the Gospel, and establish the Kingdom of God with demonstration and power.
The goal is not simply to have an impressive church service.
The goal is that when people encounter the Church, they encounter Jesus.
When they encounter us, they should encounter something of His life.
Something of His love.
Something of His power.
Something of His grace.
We are being equipped to carry the presence of Christ beyond the walls of the building.
Beware of Distraction
Not every distraction looks evil.
Sometimes the things that pull us away from God’s purposes are perfectly normal things.
Family.
Work.
Responsibilities.
Schedules.
Success.
Entertainment.
None of these things are necessarily wrong.
But even good things can become distractions when they cause us to lose sight of who we are and what Jesus is building.
Our lives must stay aligned with His purposes.
We should work well.
We should care for our families.
We should carry our responsibilities faithfully.
But none of those things should replace our identity and assignment within the body of Christ.
Make the Church Yours
The early Church moved forward because countless believers—many whose names we will never know—put their hands to the plow.
Some became famous.
Most did not.
But together they became the Church.
For two thousand years, the Church has continued because ordinary believers refused to step away from what Jesus was building.
That same invitation stands before us.
Will the Church simply be somewhere you visit?
Or will you recognize:
This is my family.
This is my body.
This is Christ’s house.
And I have a part in it.
Jesus is still building His Church.
He is still equipping His people.
He is still giving gifts.
He is still releasing grace.
And He is still calling us to participate.
Put It Into Practice
This week, ask yourself:
Where have I been watching instead of participating?
What has God placed in me that could strengthen someone else?
Am I coming to church simply to receive, or am I coming believing that God wants to work through me?
What distractions have caused me to lose sight of God’s larger building plan?
How can I bring the life of Jesus into the world around me this week?
The Church is under construction.
And Jesus is inviting you into the building process.
Discussion Guide
Equipped to Build — Pastor Bob Wilk
Summary
Icebreakers
- Have you ever helped build, repair, renovate, or assemble something? What part of the process did you enjoy most?
- What’s something you can picture clearly in your mind before it exists—an event, room design, meal, project, artwork, or something else?
- When you hear the word church, what is the first thing that naturally comes to mind?

Closing Prayer
Father, thank You that You are still building Your Church.
Thank You that You have chosen us not only to belong to Your house, but also to participate in what You are building.
Open our eyes to see ourselves the way You see us. Show us where we have become spectators instead of participants, and awaken faith in us again.
Stir up the gifts You have placed within Your people. Equip us to encourage the hurting, strengthen one another, share the Gospel, pray with faith, serve faithfully, and carry the life of Jesus into the world around us.
Teach us to build with You and to become the Church You designed us to be.
In Jesus’ name, amen.
